Re: RE Continental GT (Cafe Racer)
Well today changed my rear brake pads again. This is my 3rd set in 15k kms! But front one is still going strong. Either it's cheap quality 300 bucks pads or I'm a heavy foot on the rear brakes. Either way not too happy with it.
Look at the difference between old n new!

Re: RE Continental GT (Cafe Racer)
Would definitely like to hear it. There's a nice shop at andheri West in Mumbai who sells quite a few exhausts n one of them looks like this one. He also has a redrooster exhaust. But somehow brushed aluminum doesn't go well with the bike.Originally posted by hareshjethwani View PostYes its from indimotard,Bangalore. I got it from amazon though. It was at a discount. Will put up the video shortly.

Lol, you were riding without rear brakes? There is nothing left at all ! And Same here have clocked 7k and have changed the rear brake pads once, the front ones seem good enough still.Originally posted by Kaushik Iyer View PostWell today changed my rear brake pads again. Had heard the khildaro designs exhaust too,but looks bad and sound is almost the same. The brushed alumiminium looks close to stock, seemed good enough for me.Originally posted by Kaushik Iyer View PostWould definitely like to hear it. Hey man
That is metal grinding against metal, its gonna wear out the disc plate !
Be more careful regarding the rear. get it checked if the brake calliper is working fine ?
I do remember using the rear brakes more once on a rainy sojourn with this beauty.
How i miss the multiple compliments now
Cheers. You Start Your Life with a Full Pot of Luck and an Empty Pot of Experience, the Object is to Fill the Pot of Experience Before you Empty the Pot of Luck.....!!

Re: RE Continental GT (Cafe Racer)
Well as I have said many times over the rear unit hardly provides any feedback (feeling)!!! hence only when the pads grind out I come to know due to the peculiar sound it creates. I'd definitely don't ride like this, but this time I first heard the noise half way to my my home while returning at 10pm. Had no choice but to gingerly ride it to home. And for the entire weekend it was standing till the parts came in. I change pads by my self
now I'm an expert at it.
If this one also goes kaput by 5k kms I'll change to a different brand. Also I feel I have a heavy right foot....probably due to my 10+yrs of riding pathetic drum-brakes on the Unicorn. Maybe this time I'll be a bit more conscious about it.
I've been trying to find if I can upgrade my rear callipers & the entire rear braking unit, but havent found any solutions to date.

Re: RE Continental GT (Cafe Racer)
Any links to video of the wheel change for the gt for front and rear incase of a puncture? Would be helpful. The service center guys are not of any help. Though i can do it myself,i got it wring the last time amd was quiet a tedious job. Would like the right ways of doing it. The manual is a bit confusing. Had seen the manual and changed the wheel last time around. A video will be really helpful amd will be on the phone to refer just in case.

Re: RE Continental GT (Cafe Racer)
Its quite easy....
Using a 24mm wrench unscrew the bolt from the exhaust side.
Unhook the rear brake pipe from the clips. So that the calipers come out easily.
Then once you have the axel bolt out. Simply wiggle the caliper to make it loose. And it'll plainly slide out from the disc.
U'll also see a small steel axel spacer fallout which rests between the caliper and wheel.
Now u'll need to wiggle the wheel loose from its drivetrain.
To remove the out after its loosened u'll need some help to tilt the bike to slide the wheel out.
Putting it back on is a bit of a workout but not really difficult

Re: RE Continental GT (Cafe Racer)
I am 6.1. It's good enough for me. But always better to take a test ride for longer period of time to be sure. Royal Enfield offers test rides where you can keep the GT with you for a few days so you can have a good feel of the bike. If your dealer doesn't oblige you can mail royal Enfield customer care. All the best.Originally posted by Noah Seb View PostIs continental gt good for tall riders u know 6.5 foot tall , idk if i want to go with the gt or std 350 ? Help please
