      Hi guys,

My scoot is almost 2 months old with almost 1000km on the odo. 1st service done a couple of weeks ago.

I usually use the kick-start and use the self once the engine is warmed up. Yesterday, to my horror, i felt the kicker do down without pressure so i used the button. However after riding about 10km, the kick was working absolutely fine. What could have caused it to become free all of a sudden?

My tight schedule doesn't allow me to visit the A.S.S. often, hence I posted my query here. Is the issue serious?

      Thanks.

Don't worry its temporary compression loss, due to a stuck valve spring. This is a very rare (happens once/twice a year in my case) and random malfunction, which you can't reproduce in ASS. If you frequently find loss of compression than it required urgent attention otherwise you are good to go.

Many thanks for a prompt and reassuring reply. I haven't ridden today; will be re-checking the phenomenon tomorrow maybe. Other 'planet' owners are free to share their experiences on this issue meanwhile.

Will new TVS Jupiter classic or ZX Disc brake variants ever get combi brakes like in Honda Activa 125cc Disc brake variant?

Is there any chance that Jupiter Disc variants will get combi brakes in March 2018 or after 1st April 2018 because I had read some news that government had issued a notice to two-wheelers companies to mandatory the use of the combi breaking system in all two wheelers including scooters below 125cc engine after 1st April 2018.

            Please answer in long detail.

Completed 40000 Kms on the 2nd birthday of Jupiter.

One good part worth mentioning is the mileage. Has remained same since the bike was new.

As a part of 40K service changed engine oil & transmission oil (Elf 10W40 Semi-synthetic), Oil strainer screen, cleaned break pads & drums, cleaned spark plug, replaced fork oil to 20W Motul, cleaned air filter, battery water topped up, cleaned Carb and tuned the same.

Painted the alloys with glossy black. Front mud guards (bottom) was also painted black to prevent rust.

Could hear noise from engine at low rpms. Suspecting Timing chain issue.

I did not have tools to remove the clutch to check the conditions of the cvt rollers. Drive belt was good as new but TVS is recommending for a change at 24K kms.

When my BIL was waiting for a signal to turn green, a car dashed him from behind causing the rear light assembly to break. Also the bottom cover was damaged, along with dents in the side panel. The light assembly costed 1865Rs and the bottom cover was fixed using a fevikwik. Could do nothing about the dented side panel. Also the body guard broke. Click image for larger version

Next oil change would be at 44K kms where I will be taking it to my neighborhood garage for checking engine noise + cvt roller condition.

Does anyone in Delhi/Ncr know if the Jupiter Classic Windshield is sold as an accessory and where. I enquired at the Noida SC and they do not sell it currently. They keep telling me it's going to be sold later on. Also can I get a top case fitted on the Jupiter.

                  Hi Friends,

Coming of modifications in TVS Jupiter, I plan to do the following modifications:
Change speedometer light , pilot lamp, and number plate light. Already within the first month of buying my scooter in Jun 2016 i changed the horn to Uno Minda Trumpet horn, and the Horn worked really well, but while giving for service the service centre guys when water washing, did not care and all water went into the Horn, and it didnt sound as good as new. Hence replaced it with the second one in the set of Horn. First one will repair whenever i get time. Even though the windtone horns come as a set only one is enough to make good sound. This is taken during one of my drivings around the city with my mobile in pocket and recorded using secret video recorder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl8vCS9SVSU you may need headphones and good volume to listen to the horn sound at 0.01 at start of the video. Also i followed some videos by Techcrazy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXiHRxVZoXo&t=3s he has really good modifications videos on youtube, especially for TVS jupiter. But he speaks only hindi so those who dont know hindi for them it may be tough to follow.

From the electrical system of TVS jupiter this is what i plan to change :
                  speedometer illumination lights 12V, 1.7W x 2 (T10 flat type bulb)
                  Pilot / Position Lamps 12V, 3W x 2 (T10 flat type bulb)
                  Number Plate 12v , 4W x 1 (T4W BA9S type bulb)

In this only the rear number plate bulb seems tough to remove, i did not find any tutorials online to replace that bulb. Seems lot of efforts will be needed to replace that bulb. Rest other bulbs can be replaced in 20 minutes as its just headlight assembly removing .

Apart from these there are modifications like Hazard lights, LED Lights, make headlights on batter etc which require slicing original company cables, which i dont wish to do now. I would only like to make only front position lamp and speedometer lights on battery.

Do post your pics of modifications which you have done. I will do post mine once i do.

                    dear friends
i installed ceramic white led in my tvs jupiter speedometer console and blue led as pilot lamps. both are very bright even if engine is idle position. one friend tells that led wont last long on ac power is it true?? because the tail light led also runs on ac power only. here are some pics tvs jupiter pilot n speedo light change https://imgur.com/gallery/Zp86k

Ask Aditi Automobiles, go inside the Service area where all the parts and accessories are provided to the mechanics and customers. Tell them to give you a windshield. And for top box you'll have to go to Karol Bagh.

Thats Aditi Automobiles Noida Sec-10 right ? The last time I had checked with them around Nov 17 and they did not have it in stock.

For the top box do you know any specific place in KB. I mostly know all the joints there for my TB 350. Golden Bikes seems jugaadu

I asked them just now and they said that it's not available yet but it can be purchased separately. And yeah, Golden bikes is the famous one in KB for touring accesories.
