    Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0

    1. You should have asked them not to wash the bike and lubricate the chain. They wouldn't have done that.
Did you used the service book coupon for this ?
    2. I too had opted for this teflon coat for 550rs. But they use some unknown polish and pass that for toflon coat (simply cheat us)
    3. Wash the bike every Sunday or every alternate Sunday. Use a good car shampoo and after that apply a good quality polish. I use 3M wax polish and i find it pretty good. Keeps the shine for long. For matte parts, don't have much idea.
Also don't clean the bike with dry cloth. It would cause micro scratches and would dull the paint. Instead clean with damp cloth and very lightly.
    4. Get a good quality bike cover and use that at night.

Most important things, don't think too much. The paint would loose its shine this easily. Follow the stated points and the bike would stay good.

    Ride safe and have fun.

No No....i have not used my service coupon. What i meant to say was i saw a bike being serviced..it got a wash and chain lubricant but no chain cleaning. But i read in the forums to do chain cleaning before lubricating the chain. So thought it to be a wrong practice. And thanks for the advices would definitely follow them

Make it a point to get the chain cleaned thoroughly during each servicing.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

SVC guys don't even bother to clean the chain and apply chain lube. They simply apply the chain lube and their work is over. If you can do the same by yourself, that will be helpful in the long term.

Bang on! that's exactly what SVC guys do - wash & lubricate (no cleaning, as done manually by riders)
Shampoo & polish is a good combination for keeping the bike shiny. BTW matte finish doesn't shine much, their USP lies in their dullness.

Some of my friends were saying if i dont drive bike fast now, i might face low engine power in later phase as my engine hasnt been exposed well enough during breakin period. Please clear my doubts

If its accelerating slower than Active on 1st day, don't expect it will change anything significant after 1st service, Unless your bike is having clutch or other problem. Please get it checked in SC for low initial pick-up.

I've been an Fz fan for a long time now. I was however disappointed with the 2.0,so much that completely ditched the idea of getting an Fz and bought a D150S a week back Lol.

                          FZ - single solid color.
FZ-s - dual tone color + small wind-screen over the console.
                          Rest everything is same.

The small windscreen is of no use and just adds to the style quotient. Rs. 600 for such a small plastic thing IMO, avoid it.
