If the bike have any problem, tell them to the person who is making your job card.
If every thing is fine, then no worries.
mileage and pickup will improve after the first service and the engine will become smoother. Enjoy.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
IMO, don't get chain cleaned and lubed at SVC. Infact, DIY, as the SVC guys never do it properly and the chain life reduces drastically.Originally posted by H3c70R View PostDone 800kms on ODO.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
URGENT!!
Is chain lubrication chargeable at first service?? Here at JMM yamaha Guwahati, they are charging Rs180/-. I have told them not to lube the chain, only clean it. Pl reply.

Chain lubrication is charged for at most svc's but 180 bucks is a rip off. Maximum of 50-70 bucks is charged at most svc's. You should go and ask them the reason for charging that high only for chain lubrication! Maybe they have included the washing and polishing charge in the 180 bucks.
It is better to buy a can of chain lube, clean and lube the chain by yourself every 500-700km and tell the svc not to lube your chain during service.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Stock filter is different than the earlier version. It is paper but not rectangular. It does not sit inside the box, instead is positioned in a sliding manner. Aftermarket filter is questionable now since it has a unique shape. Conical and foam fitments look feasible.Originally posted by shojolbd View PostAnyone using K&N with this new Fz16?? How does the stock filter look? Same as old model?

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Need a help here guys!
I've serviced my bike on 22nd Oct and since then the bike is running quite smooth. The notchy feeling while gear shift has almost gone.
In servicing they changed the oil and oil filter and charged 340 and 40 for oil and oil filter respectively. But they put only 1l oil while in manual its mentioned that when oil filter is being changed 1.1l oil is supposed to be put, will it have any affect or should i buy the oil and pour some quantity myself?
Just checked the brake fluid and its at the min level. I want to refill the fluid but I've few questions.
1. What type of brake fluid should I use, DOT3 or DOT4?
2. What is the difference between the two fluids?
3. How much quantity is needed to fill it?
4. What is the cost of the two fluids?
Kindly give your inputs.

1L of oil is sufficient with oil filter change. If the oil level is below minimum (it shouldn't be), top it up.Originally posted by H3c70R View PostNeed a help here guys!

Brake fluid at minimum? Did you get the brakes serviced at the SVC?
Go for DOT 4 Brake Oil. It is better than DOT 3. Also, bleed the brakes so that the system has DOT 4 in it and not mixture of two fluids. Check the DIY thread to learn bleeding of brakes.
