Lets make this Thread to discuss about the issues & experience the proud owner of Yamaha FZS FI.

I have clocked around 2500kms, with FE of around 54kmpl mostly ridden in city. I riding in eco mode max time. Recently I started facing few issue with bike:

    1. There is a strange clinking sound coming while accelerating the bike. As some bot is loose and is preventing the smoothness while revving. (I am unable to explain what exactly be the reason for the same).

    2. I am waiting for 2nd service to be done at 3000kms.(1st was done at 800kms). Please suggest a better service station in Bangalore
Since your bike is fuel injected I'm guessing the fuel pump is located in the petrol tank like other fuel injected bikes. So, avoid riding on low fuel as the fuel pump in the petrol tank requires the petrol for cooling. Riding with low fuel will lead to the fuel pump getting screwed. And it's an expensive part to replace.

      • Stalled FZ Version 2

        Hello Everyone,

My colleague recently brought FZ Version 2 about 3 months ago. Bike was serviced just 2 weeks ago. Today bike started fine in the morning but by the time he reached office bike started to produce grunting noise. There was loss of power as well. To add to the vows bike stopped responding to any switches. Bike stayed on even after the ignition was switched off and Keys were removed. We had to force it off by putting it in gear and releasing the clutch.
Now bike is not responding to any switches and there is no electrical power in the odometer or horn. There is no kick in the bike so we are not able to turn it on.
Though I have called the mechanic but I am not sure he will turn up as the weather is pretty bad here and we are atleast 20 km away from any city limit. There are a few things I need your help on:-
        1) Did anyone of fellow FZ Version 2 owners faced a similar issue?
        2) In case mechanic does not turn up is there a way to start the bike and take it to the mechanic?
        3) I was interested in checking the battery fuse but I have no clue where the battery is and how to open the bike to check battery, any help is appreciated. (I myself own a Pulsar 150cc U2 which is very different from the concerned bike)

Any help on the concern is appreciated.

        Thanks & Regards

Done with second servicing. Engine smoothness increased, shifting is smoother and more importantly pick up has increased and bike is really reponsding to the throttle now. Happy

Reached 111KMPH today at max throttle. I think bike can go upto 115KMPH but didn't have enough road to check that.
what is the top speed you guys are getting?

Did you go for an oil change? If yes, what oil, stock or some other? I'm thinking of switching over to semisynthetic. How will it be?

Put in second gear and push the bike while keeping the clutch pressed. Then ask your friend to push the bike and when it reaches some speed. Start releasing the clutch. The bike will start

No oil change. It was done in first service. Semi synthetic I have no idea. Others might be able to help you
