I saw your post regarding changing of sprockets. I have put a 140/70 rear tyre as a result the acceleration has dulled out a bit and the bike has become a bit tall geared, I wanted to install a bigger 42 tooth rear sprocket, will the bigger sprocket need a longer chain or will the stock one work fine?
I guess you are using a sprocket of very similar diameter, hence you should not need a new chain.

      Hello Everyone,

I have purchased Yamaha FZS version 2.0 FI wolf gray colour. I would like to share my buying experience here.

So let me first start with my background , I have Pulsar 180 UG3 which was bought in 2005 during my engineering days.
This bike was bought to me by my dad,I remember convincing him to buy me Pulsar 180 back then, while he planned to buy me Bajaj discover .
It has been a long run since then with Pulsar 11 years to be precise. During this time,Pulsar was a good companion, however of late
maintenance cost for my pulsar started to increase and i felt the need to check new bikes and bid good bye to my pulsar.I kept postponing my decision
to buy new bike till a year hoping that its better to invest in maintenance of existing bike rather than buying a brand new. However i finally felt the
need to do away with Pulsar as visit to service mechanic became more frequent than ever. Finally i convinced my self to get a new bike and so the
      search for new bike started.

I had ridden Yamaha FZS version 1 of a friend few years back and had enjoyed the ride quality, handling and pickup. So i had shortlisted Yamaha FZS a
s one of the bike for purchase. Apart from Yamaha, i also checked reviews of Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet. Although Gixxer was a good choice,
i excluded it from my list because awkward pillion position. In the meanwhile i went to one of Yamaha Dealers here in Pune got quotation for
the same and took test ride. I was excited with the test ride, engine but wanted to try CB hornet before making final decision.
So i visited Honda showroom in my area and inquired about CB hornet, the dealer told me that currently there is no stock with them and
even no bike available for test ride.I also visited XBHP Forums to check the ownership experiences and comparisons.
I finally decided to go with Yamaha FZS version 2.0.

I decided to book the bike on weekend and check with the dealer if i can get the quick delivery. The Dealer confirmed that they have stock and I can take the delivery
on same day.My earlier Pulsar was black in colour so i decided to go with some different colour. There were 5 different colour schemes available for the
FZS.The colour of the bike that i had taken for Test ride was wolf gray and it appealed me.I was excited and decided to book the wolf gray colour.
I decide to go with cheque option for payment of the bike, but as it was Saturday and almost past afternoon, the dealer guys said that cheque can be
processed on the next working day i.e. Monday and I can take the delivery only after cheque is processed. They suggested me with another option for
Net Banking online transfer if i wanted the bike on same day.A friend of mine who was accompanying me suggested not to haste and wait for next day
and give a rethought on the colour i had chosen. So i decided to head home and come next day. The representative asked me to confirm the final colour
of choice on next day morning and configure the account of the dealer for online transfer of Money.I thought on the colour back home and decide to
go with same colour, some times you need to go what your heart says rather than what your friend says .

The next day (Sunday) i called the sales representative and confirmed the colour. They asked to transfer the amount online, For testing purpose i transferred
100 Rupees to the account and asked them for confirmation. The dealer said she will confirm status of amount transfer in next half an hour,
after waiting for a some time i decided to head to the Yamaha dealer, I inquired about the online transaction only to realize that i did NEFT
transaction that are not carried out by the bank on Sunday.I was a bit disappointed that i wont be able to take the bike home on that day.
The sales representative asked to book the bike so that they will start the document process, I agreed and booked the bike by giving 1000/- Rs.
I headed home hoping that next day i would be able to finally lay my hands on the bike. The next day (Monday) morning i went to the dealer
showroom early as i had to go to office post that.Upon reaching the Dealership the sales representative asked to transfer the full amount
online. I was a bit skeptical and asked confirmation of the 100 rs transferred online day before to which the representative
was unable to confirm saying the account is of the owner of showroom and he is out of city for a week. I finally decided to make payment by means of
cheque to which they agreed. So i waited next day ( Tuesday ) as they said that they will send the cheque next day for processing. Finally on Tuesday
i received message of cheque deposit and was excited for delivery on the next day. I went to the showroom on Wednesday morning early due to office.
As i arrived, the representative was preparing the final documents including Vehicle Manual, sale invoice Vehicle insurance. Finally the moment
came where i was handed over keys of the bike and asked for a test ride to check if everything was okay. I found the rear brake was loose and got
it tightened. After visually inspecting the bike and finding things good i bid farewell to the representative
for the day.I marched straight ahead to the Fuel station as i was skeptical on the Fuel in the tank. While on the run i noticed that the front panel
consisting of the speedometer was shaking when bike met a speed bump or pot hole, I also noticed that the chain was bit tight and there
was no lubrication on it. After fueling the bike i headed to temple and for pooja.I was running late on time so decided to keep the bike home and take
      my Pulsar to office.

After comming home that day i was verifying the documents i was shocked to see invoice was 20 days back dated. Also Vehicle manual that was given to me
was of FZ version 1.0. I was quite disappointed with the dealership experience also the conduct of the staff, Next day i went to the
dealer and complained to the representative, She got me the correct Vehicle manual and said that she is sorry to have given me the wrong manual. I asked
reagarding the back dated invoice to which she called the manager of the shworoom and he questioned her in return. I got an answer that there is a problem
in their invoice software and hence the invoice is backdated.Next thing i notified them about the speedometer shaking issue ,chain slackness and oiling
and got them fixed. From then on I am using the FZS for my daily office commute and havent got the chance to take her to long trips. Hopefully will be able
to do so once i hit the 1k engine breakin period.

        Pointwise replies:
I am hearing 1st time from you that A pulsar clocked 90k kms with the stock chain and 70k kms with stock rear sprocket. An FZ-S requires a chain sprocket replacement at 16k if maintained with kerosene & gear oil EP90 (desi cheap solution) and 18-20k max if maintained with Motul kits. If you are buying motul chain spray & lube for 1000/- plus brush worth 200/-, totally 1200/- to lubricate chain to last around 20k kms. Then why not buy a whole new sprocket set worth 1595/- (1020/- chain + 350/- rear + 125/- front sprocket ).
Service center guys always try to extra-tighten the chain which will cause you to replace chain at only 10k.
Do not blindly throw bikes to service centers to maintain everything. Do learn some DIY brother..

Knowledgeable members dont seem to answering on this thread anymore.. disappointing

Can anyone tell me what could be the source of this leak? Bike here is just 10 months old and is currently at 9200 kms. Bike has clocked 200 kms after last servicing. I've noticed some kind of lubricant in the clutch lever. They've flooded the lever with the lubricant. Even my hand was slipping while riding after the service. I've checked the engine oil level and its neck deep. No problem there. Also checked the fuel pump and again no sign of leak there.

Is the drive chain lubed by engine oil or any other non-chain specific oil ?? To me it looks like a spill from the chain.

Also why does the accelerator have a single cable. My bike has dual cable. May be Yamaha is doing cost cutting.

check you battery voltage, horn and head light wiring for cuts, replace bike fuse.
is it make you bike completely dead? i mean no horn blowing dead meter display? or just a engine cut off?

Thats only a parts catalogue, we are yet to discover Workshop Manual for v2.0. I was curious to learn what Yamaha recommended as engine oils to the latest FZ and their running-in instructions. So searched for a Owners Manual and on the first page, the internal model code (?) was mentioned .

                              try Increasing the idle rpm.
could also be problem of engine cooling off immediately as the engine is too hot and cools of due to sudden changes in temperature, used to happen to me in rainy seasons few times when engine was quite hot and I would ride in rain without revving too much it would shut off.

I think it's the problem with the battery. The battery have enough power to run both fi and other electronics same time. Check your battery
