In India is it OK while taking delivery of bike if owner asks dealer not to place front number plate near the console instead stick a number sticker on front mud guard?
    Is it legal?

It's illegal to place the front number plate at a place where it isn't visible to the on coming people but many people do this. So its pure luck some cops may fine u for this while others may just ignore it completely...

Has anyone replaced the stock 35/35w HS1 headlamp with 55/60w H4 ? Will it affect the battery, electricals and the reflector?

        • Throttle hesitation

Brought a yamaha fazer v2 on feb 8,2016.i was pretty much happy with my choice till a week ago.Since then i've been experiencing throttle hesitation at low rpms. Its annoys me a lot as i have been taking good care of my bike and i aint a rash driver either. Also i have already checked in with an authorised yamaha service centre nearer to me.They said that the bike is just fine and they didnt any find any problems. They also told me that the air filter and sparkplug are just fine. But till now ,i'm experiencing the same problem and i just dont know what to do.This is my first bike which i brought with my own money which saddens me even more.I'm just clueless as i am pretty new to biking.so please help me out guys

This change doesn't affect any of those in the fz v1. So it shouldn't be a problem here too.
I have been using a 55/60w H4 bulb for over 2 years and never faced any problem. Go ahead with it. The stock 35/35w bulb is nearly useless.

Just take care of not using the headlight with engine shut off for long.

            Ride safe and have fun.

                Hey folks!

What is to be done in "servicing"?

                - Oil and filter Change
                - Chain Clean ( WD 40 / Diesel? )
                - Chain Lube ( Suggest me a one, Motul/3M/ TVS Tru?)
                - Bike Wash ?
                - ?

What should be done to clear the deposits (residue?) inside and such. I'm still learning how to deal with FI ( ) systems.

Do tell me any major DIY hacks that I can perform with this machine.

                Cheers!

PS- Does OBD2 stuff works on this machine?

The things you have mentioned are what is done in normal servicing.

As for other things, see the service manual and do the things mentioned.

And clean deposits where ? FI system? If yes, svc have fi cleaning machine.

DIY hacks? You will have to be more specific than that. Haha.. btw, there is a thread on wiring/lighting, you will fine many such useful things on it.

                  And what is this OBD2?

                  Ride safe and have fun.

What's up with those injector cleaners like these?

Approved and merged with the 'active' v2 thread.

                        * the book that came with the bike. Check it out.

                        * you can use those injector cleaners, but why bother when you can get them cleaned at the svc after every 8-10k kms. It doesn't cost much.

                        * it is a 150cc engine. How much more can we take out of it and not have any adverse effect on it. Better leave it.

Fz v1 is carbureted but the v2 is fuel injected and the fuel pump runs on the battery. That is the main reason I am afraid to play around with the wiring and load the battery. Are you using any relay or is it simply plug and play? And does the HS1 socket requires any modification to fit the H4 bulb or is it a direct fit?

Yep it affects the fuel injector.

That is why I said to not use the bulb for long when the engine is off.

H4 is a direct fit. No need for any modificatiom or any relay thing. I am using a Rs. 90 Bosch bulb and pretty happy with it.

Have you used any 55/60 bulb on your FZS V2?

I never turn on my headlamp while my engine is turned off. I doubt that the puny 4AH battery would properly be able to power the fuel pump if its loaded with a 55/60w bulb. Another thing is that the Fazer v2 has 2 headlamps and 2 horns and powering those is the same 4AH battery. I just don't understand why these manufacturers provide 35/35w bulbs which are completely useless on the highways.
