  • few doubts on fz fi v2

hello, from long time am planning to buy fz fi v2 black but being a just graduated student with no proper job am still not able to own it.but recently i have worked and earned 50k rest needs to be earned more.
my question is does new fz fi v2 comes with ceat or mrf tyres or will i have the option to opt for any one??
and also someone saying about the throttle cable will it be single or double and how does it affect the bike?
also i will be riding in eco mode mostly but on highways i may go fast sometimes

so what average i can expect?

Sourcing the 15T was difficult. A friend of mine "Jiddu" from Kerala arranged it.

Dealers in Hyderabad do not retail spare sprockets, they sell it as a full set.

Now a days all fz's are coming with ceat tyres..I dont think you have an option there..but just check with the showroom guys...
I am not very sure about the throttle cable, others may help you and coming to average, if you ride in eco most of the time, we can expect 50kmpl easily....

The sprocket is original R15 v2.0 front sprocket. It costs 100 Rs.

The bike behaves slightly sluggish now, slower in picking speed. Also i cannot use 5th gear all the time in city. But I don't find it annoying or anything of that sort. The engine happily does 85 kmph @ 6000 RPM and 100 Kmph @7000 RPM. What more can I ask for.

If I try drag racing with another FZ v2.0, my bike will definitely lose the race but i did not buy this machine to race, I commute and tour mainly and the bike is doing just fine so far. Fuel efficiency figures remain the same so does the top speed. Only difference is engine feels relaxed till 100 kmph.

It took me some time to get used to the new feel of using the 4th gear in city, similar to R15's 5th gear.

I am yet to tour to hill stations and that will be a deciding factor for me. If my fine struggles too much on inclination and hill climbs, I am going to revert back to stock 14T setup.

ok so r15 front sprocket is a direct fit if we able to source it....and regarding performance on hills as i live near it ..it was a pain as youvl have to keep on shifting gears due to reduced torque in higher gears you just dont feel relaxed....i mean 5 you wont albe to use it and evry corner you will have to downshift to 2 to keep going...on plains i felt need of more braking power as reduced engine braking and on higher speeds because less torque it was not confident....

I need to check it for myself. I live in plains but tour on hills. Though Fz v2 is equipped with a closed loop EFI which will keep making good power even in higher altitudes, only a proper tour will make things clear.

Yes u are right, I too feel reduced engine braking. But nothing crazy, i am used to ride bikes with lower compression, so it works fine for me.

I have ridden through 36 hair pin bend road of Ooty (Tamil Nadu) on my previous bike (Yamaha Gladiator), the curves are so tight that even 1st gear was not enough. On top of that carb bike lost significant power due to altitude too. It was a struggle.

I have kept the 14T safely with me. One trip and I will decide what to do.

                    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

If the 15T thing fails, I will try a smaller rear sprocket ( From Fz V1) and 14T front and see how it works. Also I will go with MRF Revz M (Gixxer) tire as it has higher profile due to its rounder shape.

Its a trial and error thing, need to see what works fine for me.

                      Hi all,

Recently serviced my bike and changed oil in a yamaha svc. They used Yamalube Optima. Shouldn't they use optima prime rather?

Has anyone tried any 55/60 headlight bulb on fzs v2 ? Does H4 directly fit into HS1 socket ?

i missed ur reply.....i had enough with the gearing . for my kind of usage stock gearing is perfect and at 10000kms now engine seems to like high revs .high profile tyre might be better idea in which i am also interested hornet tyre is high profile from the looks of it that might come as a option in future ...for the time being i am including 4 things first system g monthly one full tank to keep the fuel lines clean second would be avengers rvm to better view third would some padding for the seat and last would be a loud horn to help while over taking...have you done anything to your ride otherthan sproceting

                            Guys i have a doubt.
I am thinking about changing oil to motul semi synthetic.
                            Will it void the warranty?
Will the people at service center change it if I ask them to?
Members please reply as I have my servicing nearing.
                            Thanks in advance.
