          • Tyre, Windscreen & Oil change for Fzs v2.

            -Mrf Zapper S 140/70
-Ride height increased by 14mm. Its a boon for me as I am 185.5 cm tall.
-Due to the increased height the belly doesn't scrape on speed breakers anymore.

-The Zapper S 140/70 has a much round profile than the previous Mrf Revz Y 140/70 which was much flatter in profile and always felt under inflated.
-Looks much better than the Mrf Revz Y. And even the grip levels are amazing, Can corner with much confidence now, sticky compound.
-Clocked around 1125 Kms did not face any fishtailing, holds very well even on wet conditions.
-I feel the gearing as become a bit taller due to the change in the aspect ratio of the tyre.
-Millage under mixed condition is 45-46 Kmpl & on highways around 48 Kmpl on highways.

            -Installed Fazer V2 windscreen.
-Reduces wind blast to some extent on highways. Helps to tuck down to gain some top speed on open stretches.
            -Costed around 370. Fazer V2 windscreen-270, fitting guy-100.

            -New Steroid
-Using for the first time Motul 7100 full synthetic 10w40.
-The oil started to show its true color after clocking around 200km. The engine revs much smoother now and even the engine sound has changed and even the top end has increased a bit.
            -Drain interval around 5-6k Kms.
            -Price around 700.

Dude you got rid off that ugly mudguard!
You did it yourself or from the service center?
I am planning to do the same but I am thinking to install mudguard of v1.

Yes I changed the rear mudguard myself. It is very simple you just need to remove 5 bolts, replace the hugger and put the bolts back. Takes just about 4-5 minutes. Its a simple DIY task.

                  Installed 15T front sprocket.

Pickup has reduced. The crispiness is gone.

100 kmph coming @7000 RPM. Overall cruisability is good, feels smoother.

My light weight friend could push the bike till 131 kmph (On speedo) while I could do a 128 kmph top.

You traded torque for more top end?
                    Any specific reason?

Bought this bike for touring ... so mostly would be cruising 70+ kmph ... hence a relaxed (less revving) engine is a better bet for me.

The modification was not targeted to increase the top end, it was targeted to make the engine feel relaxed.

Also I am just testing it as of now...there are many things to be considered like the ability of the bike to climb hills with saddle load etc.

Only time will tell whether I will stick to the mod or revert back to stock.

                        • Yamaha in my heart

                          Hello xbhpians,
I have always rode my dad's Yamaha RX - 100(1989, Made in Japan) and would love to take on another Yamaha I.e the FZS V2.0. The thing is that I have read about few cons about this bike which makes it quite doubtful to go for it,
                          - Relay switch problem during monsoon and winter
                          - No kick starter, so if electric start fails then I am doomed in the middle of road
                          - Since it's fuel injected, hence have to keep 1.5-2L of petrol so that bike doesn't turn off due to inadequate pressure in fuel tank
I love this bike and really want to go for it, but these things are bugging me for quite a long time.
                          Please help or suggest.
                          Thank you.

Bike is a really good city commuter and handling is it's USP.
I had the relay switch problem once(not during monsoon though) and got it replaced in warranty, Yes the bike didn't crank because of this but a light push in second gear and the bike started without any fuss.
It's better to keep fuel in the tank, running on reserve(low fuel) can cause harm both an FI/Carb bike.
You might also want to check Honda or the Gixxer but I prefer the build quality on FZ.
