      0) Most irritating is fuel meter. No idea when to put petrol without damaging FI system. No idea when it fluctuates or blinks.I think this
      is big flop by yamaha.
      1) sometimes gear change is smooth and some times its rough. . 1<-N>2 is sometimes painful to change.
      2) After fresh service, during drive the chain greece sprinkles on tyre rim and spoils it.you have to clean till few days as i care abt looks.
      3) i felt back brake is not enough in traffic. Its painful to drive with right hand continuously on front brake as well.
      4) the pickup power seems to diminish over time .may be mileage adjustment?
      5) Bike starting used to be quick. Now battery goes low sometimes when in traffic stop u dont switchoff light.
This lead to 2-3 times click to start. But next time no prob. I guess if prob amplifies , we have to tell svc to charge battery.

      Few tips:
1.If you fill premium petrol, engine sounds butter smooth and gives bit more mileage. If you can
afford always go premium. IOCL xtra premium or hp force.
2.Nitrogen filling in tyre always recommended .
I fill fresh once in 3 months(after every service) in HPCL COCO pumps for rs 20.
Refill once a month for free in IOCL COCO pumps as nitro free here.
Difference with ride is not so noticeable . Atleast the tyre rim edges will not rust due to nitro.
3.I wash bike once a week as roads are dusty in hyd.
Take a precaution no to switchon bike till bike is wet.As we have some electronic systems here.
I felt bike smooth after washing bike and cleaning fins as it impacts cooling i guess.
Air already has 78% nitrogen, hence their is not much improvement unless they vaccum out all the air prior to filling.

Also switching off light before cranking is recommended because already our bike is fitted with lower capacity battery and the lights draw a considerable amount of power.

I too have the problem with gear shift and some noise from the disk, Somehow I kind of got adjusted to the stupid fuel meter.

        1) I doubt if u use downshift and engine braking to stop the bike, if you use engine braking to stop the bike, I am sure the gears shift problem will vanish. Unlike any other bikes, Yamaha gearboxes are extremely precise and needs proper practices to function smoothly. Pulling the clutch at 5th gear...and then down shift after the bike has come to a stop will simply not happen. So make sure u keep downshifting while u are decelerating. I recommend this to my friends who own Yamahas.

        2) Chain lube spill is absolutely common with every bike which has a open chain type. So not a problem specific to your bike.

        3) TRUE. Not very good bite. Very less feedback. Locks up easily too.

        4) Not an issue with my bike.

        5) keeping headlamp running while engine is OFF is a malpractice. Avoid that. And NEVER EVER apply throttle while trying to start the bike. The bike just wont start. In signals we generally tend to do that out of panic.

The gear changes will depends on engine oil (How often you change it) and clutch wear. Apart from False neutrals, i got no problems ever.
The back brake is only for assist purpose ... and my brake shoes are the ones from factory and again no issues :-)
The pickup feels bad not just because of the engine but also the air pressure in tires and how well oyu chain is Lubricated. As minor as it might seems, Chain Lube is very critical. Since it is FI, I'm not sure of what mileage adjustment you are referring to.
The FZ has a puny battery. So never start with headlight on ... I have all changed to LEDs and it helps me a bit better.
I wouldn't know anything about the washing stuff ... my bike is cleaned daily but not washed. Maybe you live in the 'Interstellar' part of Hyderabad :-P But make sure you never wash your bike when the engine is hot.
The premium petrol part is absolutely true ... but the problem is that so many pumps in Hyderabad have adulterated fuel. I gave up on the premium fuel thing ...

My bike is 6 years old ... and knowing the asses that Yamaha are ... I don't care much about warranty anyways. With LEDs there will be a unique set of problems as well. You will need a new relay with a different 555 timer to correct the flash rate.

                  FZ v2.0 Fuel Guage Explained

Hello guys, I have come across a lot of posts where people are dissatisfied with the fuel guage of the Fz/Fazer v2.0

I will try to help all the owners with the strange-behaving fuel guage.

A fuel guage mainly consists of a float connected to a sensor(generally variable resistance) inside the fuel tank. As the fuel level change (increase of decrease), the float changes its position as its always floating on the surface of the fuel, hence the sensor connected to it changes its values which the Digital Speedo unit decodes into a digital figure and displays the level.

Generally the float units are placed towards the center back side of the tank for better readings, however in FZ v2.0 its on the right-rear side of the tank. Hence the moment you place the bike on side stand(which is L.H.S), the fuel guage readings go for a toss as the float gets incorrect readings.

If you have ridden an R15, its fuel level increases when placed on the side stand, which simply means its float unit is on the left hand side of the tank.

The decoding unit (Digital Speedo Unit) also plays a vital role in showing better readings which depends on refresh rate and tolerance.

In analog units, its either a bimetallic plate of a coil with a extremely hard dampner to even out the moving fuel's fluctuations. In old scooters / jeeps the dampner used to be missing hence the fuel meter used to dance with the moving fuel inside the tank. :P

All in all the FZ v2.0 fuel guage unit is not a very well designed one and can mis-lead the rider.

                  SOLUTION :

The only way to get proper reading is :

                  > Sit on the bike (put it off the side stand)
                  > Sit in a way where both your feet reaches the ground equally
                  > Switch on the key
                  > Wait for the speedo unit to complete the self check.

Note : if the ground is inclined or declined, you might get false readings. Also if you keep just one of ur leg on the ground, you will get false readings.

Hope this helps the owners. And I hope Yamaha works on such things in the future as the bike is a premium segment 150cc and quality & precision is expected out of every part of the bike.

                  Happy Riding

Isn't that good enough? Anyways, I've seen youtube videos where people have got around 120kmph. Also I think there is only a singly throttle cable.

                            After 200km

The beast is so smooth and godgeous to ride. Its highly stable and gives confidence in taking sharp turns. Engine is so refined and low vibrating that it doesnt really feel running at times. Riding position is a bit leaned and sporty. Might be an issue for long rides but in city rides it feels very sporty. Front disc brakes are powerful but rear drums are weak and rear brake is position low as per my experience. Suspensions feel a bit hard. The instrument cluster is digital and quite nice. RPM range is animated great and readable in day light also without any problem. The new eco drive indicator lights on while the bike is rode at efficiency. I reached 80kmph. Still controlling myself until the breakin period is over. Seats are more comfortable now and pillion seat is a great improvement. I surely felt a let down in terms of power and torque. My bike goes as high as 4000RPM at speed of 40kmph in 4th gear and i dont think this one easily accelerates from 30kmph in 5th gear without jittering. I wonder how can my FZ accelerate slower than an activa. I did a small race to check its power. What i presume is that after first service which is at "1000km", i might see an improvement in performance. But overall the bike is really smooth and good looking and the rear of this FZ is a beauty to watch.

Trust me, man this is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Lean-ins are sharp and confident, and cornering is too much fun! And what a whine! I have taken it up to 123kph on the way to Daman. It is definitely faster than the carbed version. Superb deal overall, just wished it had a bit more power. The frame and mechanicals are good for atleast 20bhp. It does lose its breath in crosswinds, but that is because it does not have good wind deflection. I have ridden it on some of the worst roads I could find. It takes everything with a , 'Yes Sir' attitude. Panel quality needs to improve, but that's like splitting hairs. Looks good, sounds good, feels good and rides good. What more could I want? Just need more power. The frame, suspension, steering geometry, etc is all perfect and need to be left untouched. Can't stop talking about my Veeran, which is what I have named it

During the testing phases, I drove an entire tankful at the red line all gears. 8000rpm and above its a different beast all together, though its not much of band. I have done over 120kmph-speedo quite a few times.

As for your redline woes, try re-flashing the ECU assuming your's is the FI model. If that's not the issue check the fuel pump.

If not check you sparks and Carb to figure out the problem.
When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.
