Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Congratulations Praveen43, even I am a convert from TVS Apache to FZ and I too felt the same but I do miss the brutal acceleration of the RTR. Anyways ride safe and do post pics of your new possession.Originally posted by praveen43 View PostHi ,
Finally Got my FZ-S Ver 2.0 last week
I had Apache RTR earlier and had to change as i completed 90k kms.
Fz is so smooth to drive and great handling, didn't expect this much from FZ.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
My bike also showing this gear problem, will get it checked soon, also there is squeaking sound from the disc brake.Originally posted by rvsevak6 View PostOwned on 12th oct 2015,completed 2000 kms..1st service done at 800km
Giving fuel economy of 55+
Superb handling
Problems that i'm facing in traffic:-
1. On downshifting sometimes gears tend to stick followed by a gear change sound after engaging clutch.this thing trouble me in start n go traffic where gear shift would be frequent
2. Initial pickup demand frequent gear change.for my bike
1st gear0-11
2nd gear 12-20
3rd gear 21-32
4th gear 33 - 45 max
Rest all is positive..My Machine -Yamaha Fzs V2
Tvs Apache rtr 160 sold (2010 - 2015)

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Hi all,
I will be taking delivery of black FzV2 tomorrow, can you please let me know what all things I need to check for and how to identify if the bike was manufactured in 2016 or if old bike is being delivered... also can I ask them for bike with MRF tyres? or Ceat tyres are also good? ( In the showroom there were 2 bikes and both had ceat tyres, not sure if bike with MRF tyres is available.
thank you.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I chose the warranty option 2 years ago when I bought my R15. The amount of money is quiet small and the warranty does covers important parts like fuel injection system, sensors, liquid cooling system, radiator etc.Originally posted by mscnu View PostI got my bike delivered...manufactured in jan,2016..but with Ceat tyres...it seems yamaha fz is being manufactured with ceat tyres only....

I would suggest you to go for it. 777 Rs is not that big an amount when you are already spending a fortune on a new bike and it does cover some really important kit in your bike. At the end.. your choice.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
But they have one condition for that you should service your bike regularly only at Yamaha till the end of extended warranty period... If you miss even one service your warranty is void.Originally posted by Ankey View PostI chose the warranty option 2 years ago when I bought my R15. That is true brother. The warranty will go void if you miss a service.Originally posted by fzs.bull View PostBut they have one condition for that you should service your bike regularly only at Yamaha till the end of extended warranty period... If you miss even one service your warranty is void.
but It is it so difficult to get the bike serviced regularly?? I don't think so.
I have never missed a single service ever, and you can do the same by just planning ahead for 2 weeks.
And besides our bikes are so complex that there is no other option. you cannot go to a local mechanic, authorized service center is the only option.
Which brings back warranty.
At the end. Your choice.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
thank you for your suggestions, i will take the extended warranty ( i can take it within 60 days from date of purchase ).
i have covered around 400kms in around 15 days and am planning to give for first servicing after completing around 700kms ( target 25 days ).
as of now i have the below issues:
1. up-shifting of gears is smooth, but downshift is very hard. shall i report it to service center now? or shall i wait till 1st servicing?
2. say i stop the bike at red light and am in 3rd gear, then it is almost impossible to bring it to neutral without dragging the bike...so i have to drag it around 5-10 meters and during that dragging, i have to change the gears. is it normal? or shall i report?
thank you for your help..

I think the clutch adjustment is towards the tighter side. Try loosen your clutch settings.Originally posted by mscnu View Postthank you for your suggestions, i will take the extended warranty ( i can take it within 60 days from date of purchase ).
