Engine dies while idling and throttle is "blipped"
I am learning rev matching technique that I discovered on YouTube. My engine happens to died even on full clutch and neutral when I blip the throttle. It doesn't stall, but just silently dies.
Considering the risk it posed while driving, I tried to blip it in neutral - slight 500-1500 rpm increase, without clutch or gear play. After a few blips, the engine dies. Im in Bangalore and it is not unusually cold. I tried blipping in neutral after riding the vehicle home for an hour/17km in the evening.
Otherwise, the bike is perfectly alright. If I dont blip, it doesnt stall or die in neutral or full clutch. It has a decent speed range that it can fall to while slowing down from higher gear, without stalling.
My FZS V2 is just about 8 months old and I have clocked about 4000 kms. Am I doing something wrong or is it an issue with the bike or isnt the bike fit for downshift?

Re: Engine dies while idling and throttle is "blipped"
There might be some issue with your bike, I am also new to rev matching & slowly developing my skills in it, I also sometimes do it wrong but the engine does not die. Might be a faulty sparkplug or clogged up injector, you may visit the service center and fix it.Originally posted by shravanad View PostI am learning rev matching technique that I discovered on YouTube. It might touch the mudguard but not sure, I have seen many people using 140/70 section tyre with the mudguard, 150/60 is a shorter tyre compared to 140/70 . I use a 140/70 tyre and have seen there is hardly any space between the mudguard and the tyre so I have put the short mudguard and the rear fender from the new fz model. If you put the short mudguard and the long rear fender then the 150/60 tyre will fit easily.Originally posted by Raty_FZ View PostDoes fitting a 150/60 rear tyre will damage the tyre guard in FZ s v2. And anyone tried apollo alpha radial tyre?

Are the short mudguard and rear fender available separately will it fit directly or do need any alter?Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostThere might be some issue with your bike, I am also new to rev matching & slowly developing my skills in it, I also sometimes do it wrong but the engine does not die. Is your 140/70 the same tyre used in fz25 - the MRF Zapper?Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostThere might be some issue with your bike, I am also new to rev matching & slowly developing my skills in it, I also sometimes do it wrong but the engine does not die. Yes both parts are separately available and are direct fit no alteration required. Just make sure that the short mudguard is of the rear drum brake variant and not the rear disc brake variant, the one one the rear disc variant is slightly different. The rear long fender is same on all variant.Originally posted by Raty_FZ View PostAre the short mudguard and rear fender available separately will it fit directly or do need any alter?
Yes I am using zapper s 140/70 same as used on the fz25 and the hornetOriginally posted by Sumazure View PostIs your 140/70 the same tyre used in fz25 - the MRF Zapper?Last edited by Rajdip Saha; 12-12-2018, 02:13 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I have been facing a odd problem since the last 2 months. When the bike has run continuously for more than 10-15 mins and I bring to neutral usually at traffic stops, the engine stalls as soon as I give slight twist to the throttle to rev up a bit. The idling rpm for the bike is set to 1000. Have done the regular service and have got the fuel injector cleaned and the air filter replaced. The SVC fellow has also adjusted the accelerator cable and the idling rpm. Not able to locate the root of the issue.

Adjust idling rpm to about 1400 to 1500 rpm in hot engine.Originally posted by Sumazure View PostI have been facing a odd problem since the last 2 months. If the engine stalls with an abrupt throttle input but is okay with a gradual throttle input, then check the spark plug and spark plug cap.Originally posted by Sumazure View PostI have been facing a odd problem since the last 2 months.
