Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I don't think it is reliable my bike is not starting recently... I had to give to service centre .. They accepted that this happens to 1 in 8 bikes I'm still surprised why they removed kick start if they are not confident [emoji29]Originally posted by ronit1992 View Postno its fi setup. i guess it donot warrant an kick system.self start is relable enough. why you want to do that.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
IMHO, bike engines don't require a kick starter if manufacturers can add a low battery tell-tale to the instruments. These Japanese Mitsuba and other similar starter motors are very very reliable. Car engines only use starter motors 24/7 and they start fine except when the battery is low on charge. In our case, a simple thing like moisture in clutch switch will prevent the motor from cranking. But if the motor cranks, but the engine doesn't start, well, it has to be diagnosed at SVC.Originally posted by fzs.bull View PostI don't think it is reliable my bike is not starting recently... Buzzer is an add on accessory, not factory installed in any bikes. Costs under 100 bucks.Originally posted by djmacpro View PostIs it true that left/right indicator sound which comes that doesn't come pre installed from yamaha ?
We need to pay for that sound indicator as an add on?#RetiredRider

I didn't knew that hehehehOriginally posted by deville_56 View PostBuzzer is an add on accessory, not factory installed in any bikes. Costs under 100 bucks.
As it is useless thing in Mumbai as the traffic and horn and other surrounding noise is so loud the buzzer could hardly been heard hahahahahaha
I just use left/right indicator on highways at night while shifting lane

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I have checked thoroughly and then posted the RPM. You may get a different result as you have changed the sprockets.I have my stock sprockets, just the rear tyre is a 140/70 higher profile tyre.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View PostI dont think 80 comes at 6500 .... should be lesser. check again once.
I am back from a long trip to Goa ... and I am happy with the 15T setup.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
how does the bike perform in long run tour eg. mumbai to ratnagiri approx 300km ?
any special thing to consider while travelling and also cruising speed at which the bike wont feel stress and engine wont heat much.
how long time can bike go without taking any halt ?

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Ok. May be. but if both of our bikes are doing 100 kmph @ 7000 RPMS, then they should do 80 at similar RPMs too .. because the RPM-is-to-speed is supposed to be constant (If clutch is not slipping). Anyways, possibilities are there may be speedo errors.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostI have checked thoroughly and then posted the RPM. Runs good enough.
As stock fzv2.0 is alittle short geared, try to maintain a speed band of 80 - 90 kmph. Pushing beyond 100 kmph wont break anything, but make sure the engine is not stressed too much for too long.
Make sure you are maintaining proper tire pressure(not more not less) and chain is properly cleaned and lubed. If its raining, carry extra lube and lube the chain whenever it becomes rough and noisy.
Check and top up engine oil if needed.

Yes the 15T worked for me just fine (Even on ghats). On open highways, I could tail the R15 till 120kmph ... after that R15 becomes a jet and is not to be seen. The weak top end of fz v2.0 / Fazer doesn't make high speeds(above 100 kmph) very comfortable.Originally posted by ronit1992 View Posthow was your trip. i guess 15t sprocket worked for you. a little comparison with your friends r15. how does new fazer does on highway. do you find lack of power. mileage figures..sory for puting some raneom question..share some info on this otherwise very silent thread
Chassis wise the bike is phenomenal... i was scrapping foot pegs on the ghat sections will easy and full confidence. Just too stable and poised.

Ok, you cannot. ECUs are specific to engines and hence R15 ECU is not going to work for Fz v2.0Originally posted by vignesh0707 View PostI want to fit Yamaha r15s ECU unit to fz v2, it is possible. Any help?
Secondly, the daytona kit for R15 has its own set of drawbacks. One of my close friend is selling of his R15 with full daytona kit for the very same reason.
The torque is only concentrated to high RPMs and bikes behave flat in lower and mid ranges. Hence commuting in city and touring on highway becomes a headache.
And sadly, there are no aftermarket ECUs available for Fz v2.0 so far. Lets wait and see when they start making those.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I own a Fazer v1, if you run 75-85 kmph for 1hr in morning say 9-11o'clock, there will no problem either, but if you do the same in scorching noon (40 degrees & above), engine feels harsed after 50km.Originally posted by djmacpro View Postso if i run between 60-90 after how much time should i rest and for what time? i mean if run suppose for 1hr continuous so i should stop for min 15min or so any thing like that
Btw, for long highway cruising at 6000rpm & above, do use a full synthetic xw50 engine oil (motul 5100 15w50, motul 7100 20w50, motuo 300v 15w50 or Elf moto 4 xt tech 10w50).
Avoid long running as our bikes are not oil/liquid cooled, timing chain noise may come early.
Try not to exceed 6000rpm in hot summer noon, the rest conditions are okay to live with.Regards
Saikat
