Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
One bizarre incident happened with my FZ today. I was returning to my college from my home after holi vacation which is around 100 kms away. After covering around 80 kms, my chain started to sound like its scraping something and I felt terrible vibration in the foot peg. I immediately stooped and checked the chain. To my horror, the slack which was earlier around 30mm was now zero. The chain was scraping the rubber attached to the swingarm. If I had ridden the bike some more kms, the chain surely would've snapped. Got it loosened now but I'm worried that this can happen to me again. So getting my chain sprocket set changed tomorrow. Any way the chain was in its last lag. It was already tightened to the last bar in the scale. How can my chain get tightened instead of loosening! Can anyone shed some light on the matter?

A general service should be more than enough. However I see you have got the Fi cleaning done which i dont think was needed at all. After all just 10,000 kms.Originally posted by vedavyasa86 View Postclocked 10K on the Odometer.
not a single complaint with the bike!!!
no stalling or falling till date, touchwood!
totally satisfied with this bike.
need some advice from fellow bikers, i am planning to go for servicing this weekend, what should be my checklist for post 10K servicing??
i haven't done FI cleaning since the purchase.
please let me know, also planning to go for HID projector setup for the bike, any suggestions or advices on which one goes well with yamaha FZ FI? i am very new to the mods and not a big fan of changing the stock condition. however, the stock lights are very weak i think and its becoming a problem during night rides.
For high quality projectors, HIDs in Hyderabad, you can PM me.
Definitely a MAF sensor should be present. And being a closed loop system, there is also a o2 sensor on the exhaust port.Originally posted by hjude747 View PostCan anyone tell me what type of fuel injection system is used in the yamaha fz16 version 2.0?
Is it the MAP system? Does it have the MAF sensor included?

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
its too early to ask i guess, but can we install the FZ 25 Headlight on yamaha fz FI ?
FZ 25 has improved headlights as per the standards i guess, can it be fitted to yamaha fz fi? will it not be an issue design or electricals wise?
can it be done?
cheers..

well, i have serviced my bike on 10th march and after two days i started getting terrible vibration and chain scraping even while i was pushing the bike in neutral, i immediately contacted the service center and get it checked. i have requested for a chain clean and lube as do for every service, the svc people have messed up the chain mechanism and he said that the chain got tightened. even i was surprised :S . they took my bike and changed the sprocket ( they did not charge me a rupee, not sure if they changed the sprocket or adjusted something).Originally posted by chinmoyaj View PostOne bizarre incident happened with my FZ today. i have took my bike for long ride 450 kms weekend trip and bike felt butter smooth, no issues so far
this is the first actual issue/problem i have faced in 2 years of my ownership with FZ FI.
cheers

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I'd suggest you to go for some good quality LED bulbs instead of FZ25 headlamp. That way it would cost less. Installing the headlamp will be quite complicated as we don't know the electrical specifications of FZ25 as of now.Originally posted by vedavyasa86 View Postits too early to ask i guess, but can we install the FZ 25 Headlight on yamaha fz FI ?

I have changed the chain and sprocket. Also my earlier chain had several ups and downs in the links from the very first day. I told them to replace my chain but they said eventually it will level up. SVCs don't easily do jobs under warranty. I have installed Rolon kit this time. Yamaha quoted 2200 for the job i got it done for 1300 at a local shop. Hope this chain serves me atleast for another 20-23k.Last edited by chinmoyaj; 03-21-2017, 01:44 PM.

thanks for the quick response!
i am facing issue during night rides and even in my last trip due to poor lighting on fz fi. thinking of getting HID projector setup for FZ FI, is it a good thing? will it cause issues with battery or warranty. i am close to 2 years now on warranty side, have extended warranty with yamaha. please advice.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Warranty is hampered in case you splice your wires for any aftermarket installation. And I think the battery will get affected as it has to power many components and the stock one is not that powerful. Even I'm not satisfied with the lighting of FZ at night. I'm planning to go for LED bulbs. Top quality ones will cost you a bomb. You'll get a good one for around 1.5k. Go for higher lumen LED of 35W. Its better to keep the bulb the same rating as of the stock one. And most of the HIDs are fixed beam. The ones that provide both high and low beam will be very costly.Originally posted by vedavyasa86 View Postthanks for the quick response!

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Its good to see that the new lot of FZS- FI and Fazers are coming with the new rear fender and saree guard. In my opinion now the tail section looks much cleaner than the previous huge ugly tyre hugger.
I am looking forward to change me my rear fender with this new one, hope this new fender is a direct fit to the previous models.
Under the features tab in Yamaha India the company now claims a 14% improvement in fuel economy over the previous FZS-FI.Last edited by Rajdip Saha; 03-24-2017, 11:40 AM.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Totally possible. i would have definitely done that if I owned a fz v2.0.Originally posted by vedavyasa86 View Postits too early to ask i guess, but can we install the FZ 25 Headlight on yamaha fz FI ?

But if you are looking bot better visibility in the night, go for a high quality HID projector unit. It will resolve your issue forever. But it will cost you some money.
HID projectors do need any wire cutting at all when installed by a professional. Everything is just plug and play.
Alternatively you can go for LED bulb, but I doubt the focus of it. Its cost effective though.
Additional auxilary LED lamps on crash guard also does a wonderful job at a relatively lower price.

Ouch!! that 14% higher efficiency hurts man.Originally posted by djmacpro View PostDoes anybody have any experience of the newly relaunched fz fi v2 2017.
The colors are also new and with little modification here and there.
Also its states that 14% more fuel economy then previous fz fi.
Hope the engines do not get fried in the process of improving fuel efficiency.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
So now we come to know why Yamaha launched the bikes again with new color and few changes because as per new law now newly launched bikes will be bs4 and not bs3.
Just waiting for someone who would post review or experience of the new bs4 fz fi also it will have AHO I guess

The fzs v2, fz v2 & fazer v2 were BSIV compliant from the very first day they were launched i.e. 2014
India Yamaha Motor - News
This article was posted on 30th june 2014 on the official Yamaha India website & it clearly states that the v2 models were BSIV compliant
The models which have been launched in 2017 with new paint scheme have AHO & have got rid of the ugly mudguard which the older model had & also gets a saree guard.
