I own a Fazer fi too. Have done the tappet adjustment myself once but with no results. The tappet noise just cannot be removed from this engine, may be design issue. But definitely no performance issues of any sort.

As you are planning a long trip, go ahead and replace the sparkplug and air filter, its not very costly.

Try using a bottle of PEA carbon remover with a full tank to clean your injectors without any fuss. I recently used one on my bike and the response feels better now. My morotcycle has 26,000+ on Odo. Happy Riding
Thanks, yes it spoils the look but in my case it is useful and needed sometimes so it is there, can you suggest me riding gloves upto 1k? Online only, as here in lucknow i am sure that on every shop i ll just get pro biker.
    Thanks

Yes its useful for sure. All I meant was that the ladies foot peg of the older model was better, no quiestions on the usability, they are very handy surely. Even i have it on my bike.

Look for Scoyco gloves on amazon. Should be within your budget.

If you are looking for daily use then go with zoook moto69 better than probiker, else go with scoyco but make sure its original else will end up buying fake copy.
And this new color black looks amazing but graphics are negligible previously yellow color stickers use to standout on black.
How much did the bike cost you? And previous panther black is still available for sale or now onwards only these new variants will be available?

I bought it for 93.5 thousand on road in lucknow full cash payment with zero acessories or extended warranty, later on added original yamaha leg gaurd(320rs), saree gaurd/ladies footrest(220rs) from outside so 94.1k with necessary acessories, Yes from now onwards only this colour would be available as confirmed through official brochure and showroom people
This is new 2017 colour scheme so all the colours in fz s and graphics in fz have changed, and trust me they have screwed the colours and graphics of fz s only commando green has old graphics so that looks fine, but rest all colours in fz s look bad to me except grey and graphics are bad compared to old ones.
And i am not a fan of light gold hence to me thede

Hence, this black graphic on black colours looks good to me and compliments the single tone colour and minimalism,i am a sucker for black [emoji13]
I was planning to add visor of fz-s, is it a direct fit? Can anyone answer?
Sorry my phone slipped from hand and incomplete reply was posted.
            Thanks

You need to buy that "visor and holding clamp" ; then remove that nmbr plate screw you will get an idea to install it.

                  Nothing much,
Just the new colours and graphics, absence of headlight switch due to AHO, longer rear mudgaurd in place of tyre hugger and now the brochure states the power as 13.2ps compared to 13.1ps of pre AHO model.
                  Thanks

The previous mudgaurd was perfect compared to now.the new one gives the bike a look of an average commuter bike which uncle's in city ride and after having the Saree guard man it really makes the look vulgar.the previous mudguard was a balanced one having kind of Saree guard inbuilt.
Also can anyone tell me what's the use of that small light below headlight I.e pilot lamp or aux light

That seems useless now, because we before when the headlight switch was present it used to act like parking light/DRL and in addition it also used to turn on the backlight of speedometer but now due to AHO there is no control on headlight except the high/low beam and fz being a DC bike turns on the headlight and backlight of console when the ignition is turned on, which also makes me worry a bit that will it cause problem in starting the engine in last days of battery, Hope i don't have to push start in the last few months of battery life. Well taste is like democracy, not everyone can be satisfied through a single change; some may like it, some may hate it,
Earlier people used to say the tyre hugger spoils the look( i was one of them) as something so spartan and curvy on the back used to give it a feminine/scooter sort of feel, which was worse even then a boring mudgaurd on a commuter bike, so i find the new one better and non offensive, its not bad or good just like on any other 150 cc bike; r15s, gixxer, hornet, p150, uni 160,
And saree gaurd, well i have never stayed in foreign countries so i am used to bikes with saree gaurd and footpeg since childhood, though i agree some units look totally bad like the official one on cbr 250r, but having said that the first task of any vehicle is to carry people from point A to B, so utility comes first and form later specially in case of a 150cc bike which is nothing but just a glorified commuter, so in 150cc i was looking for durability, utility and precision and not for sportiness over function or looks over utlity, i ll put these things to a side when ahead in life i will get myself a 2nd, 3rd 2 wheeler but for now first bike and that too a mere 150cc i find conventional mudgaurd and saree gaurd as a part of bike, nothing bad in it.
I am attaching a pic of official factory fitted saree gaurd which does not have provision of footpeg, which looks bad as it is like the unit on cbr 250r so i changed it with other slight minimal OEM saree gaurd which also has footrest for ladies.
                        Thanks

Well I think the new rear fender looks way better than the huge ugly mudguard. Within 6 months of buying the bike I got rid of the tyre hugger and replaced it with the short tyre hugger of the fz 1st gen. Now the problem was that the rear fender was too short almost looked like a tail tidy and in the monsoon the riders at my rear used to complaint that the rear tyre used to throw water very high. Finally when I saw the new fzs comes with a longer rear fender I immediately went to the showroom and bought the new rear fender and replaced with the old short one. Luckily it was a direct fit.
The old tyre hugger really looked ugly and yamaha got a lot of request for changing it or else why would yamaha suddenly remove the tyre hugger from the 2017 models?

And the stock OEM saree guard can be fitted with a ladies footrest have a look

I am planning to put the stock saree guard on my bike but the older fz-fi don't have a direct mount to attach it, will have to find some jugaad
Well buddy the aftermarket sareeguard which you have put looks a bit quirky and out of place to me anyways looks are subjective and vary from person to person.
The new black color looks sexy.Enjoy your new ride buddy and do keep posting.

The aftermarket is also a yamaha genuine accessory which i bought from other branch of the same showroom as the showroom people fooled me -_- that we have no official sareee gaurd for the saree gaurd on this 2k17 variant you can checkout our other branch where you will get a gaurd with integrated ladies footpeg and well yes it looks quirky but has less body work, is lighter and less wider than the one which i have replaced it with so i went ahead with it [emoji14]
The day i will be able to own a dedicated car for my mother with a driver, i' ll remove all the things even mudgaurd with a small tidy unit but till then i have to let it as part of bike, btw am astonished with the mileage i am getting in run-in period, though i agree i am skinny and riding in minimal traffic with speeds under 4300-4500rpm in each gear and rarely i touch the 5k mark for a sec or two.
Roughly 300km on the odo now and mileage is in the range of 50-55kmpl.

I don't think a tail tidy would look that good on a 150cc commuter.
And good to hear that you are getting such a good mileage, it may be because the official yamaha website claims that the 2017 fz gives 14% better mileage than the previous models.
I own a 2015 fzs v2 astral blue and on some long highway runs I managed to touch 52Kmpl, but the place where I stay due to heavy traffic I never get more than 44- 45Kmpl which i think is quite decent for a 150cc commuter that too with a 140 section rear tyre
