The previous setting was inlet=0.8mm and outlet at 0.12mm.
After riding for 5 days now my observation has been that pickup is a little agressive from lower speeds.
bike reacher approx 60kmph in short time but it feels a little sluggish to reach top speeds.
the max i could achieve was 97kmph.
also, across the full revs band the engine feels like it is very free and nothing is holding it.
I am planning to revert to 0.8 and 0.12 this weekend as i feel it gives me best of both pickup and top speed.

      Hello all,

Hope all are enjoying the beast.

I have Yamaha fzs fi odo is 31k kms. Now I am planning to change my rear tire.

I am planning to change ceat zoom xl tire, But the size of the tire is different. Can anyone give me your input for tires.

I usually go for long drives 3months once 800kms. Daily 20kms. This is my usage. I usually do bend and cut while driving.

Hi guys yesterday I changed the engine oil and oil filter of my fzs fi by my self this is first time I did it by my own I usually give it to the nearest Yamaha service center for this bike, I service my apache 180 by myself, after unscrewing the drain plug I searched for a crush washer but it wasn't there I thought this was the default design and plugged it and changed the oil, today I found the washer in the oil drain pan it had actually fell into it while unscrewing. There is no dripping/leaking of oil from the drain plug I rode my bike for one day I usually ride aggressively at higher rpms and the roads are also not good at my area the drain plug is not loosened and no oil is dripping should I remove the drain plug and put the crush washer back or should I put it when I next service it I don't want to waste my engine oil please advice, thanks

The tyre you have mentioned is a 140/70 tyre which is a higher profile tyre compared to the stock 140/60 tyre. I am using mrf zapper s 140/70 tyre from the past 1 year. And is performing pretty well. There are both pros and cons of using a higher profile tyre. The only major con is that your bike will get tall geared which will impact slight drop in pickup and frequent gear changes on stop and go traffic. Coming to the pros, you will gain a bit of top end, my bike currently does 95kmph at around 6500 rpm And its a round profile tyre so cornering is better with this tyre. The ride height will also increase a bit so may be a bit difficult for shorter riders.

There's no oil leakage/dripping/drop in oil level so I guess I'll leave I like that and put the crush washer during the next service [emoji22] [emoji22]

There is a chance for scratches on engine casing where the bolt seats and maybe it will leak thereafter.

Anybody tried carbon oil? Does it really effective and how to use it?

Are you talking about the carbon cleaning solution available at Yamaha SVCs?

I have run my fz for 12k kms. How long will the engine last before it needs some engine works. Is there anyone who have crossed 50k kms? Will the fi cause you any problem on long run??

For any bike you need to apply the front and back break together to stop the bike immediately when you are at high speed.

And fz has a drum break at the back
It's not strong as a risk break.

Well the rear brake of FZ tend to lock up quite easily. So its better to first slow down the bike using the front brake then apply the rear one. But its easier said than done. So it'll need some used to. I've been doing it and haven't faced those total lock up moments since. Also its advisable to use the front-rear brake at 70-30 ratio.
