I'm fed up with my bike. Having chain noise even after changing sprocket kit and swing arm bearings. I have tried yamaha and rolon chain sprocket sets. Still problem exists.svc guys are saying that they can't do anything more... Do anybody else facing this problem,is there any other solutions ??

Do you rev fast? i mean, trying to rip faster at signals, so you always stay ahead of others? asking because, FZ has a heavy rear tyre. The faster you accelerate and decelerate, you are putting ton of weight on the chain which in turn wears out faster. If it is only few who are facing this problem, i think you guys have to slow down a bit and accelerate slowly. Also, do you lube your chain often ?

Try to check the chain of FZ 25. As its a bigger bike, should have more durable one. If you can retro fit that one, should work fine for you. Also, drop a post in the sprockets thread, which should give you more responses to your problem.

No bro. I am slow rider my avg speed is 50kmph. My problem is not durability of sprocket.i have replaced my sprocket and swing arm bearings last week, and the chain noise is still there, had the same experience with the previous chain set.no noise while accelerating, but when I release accelator, chain makes krr.krr.. sound.svc guys can't fix this problem. Now iam thinking about selling the bike only because of this problem

U want to sell the bike just for the silly reason of sound from the chain how funny. Buddy lube the chain at every 500 Kms there are lot of chain sprays available in the market buy any one of them and lube the chain for every 500 Kms that’s it. Check weather the chain slackness is not too tight & not too loose. If u fed up with the SVC people take the bike to a good local mechanic he can solve the issue. Even if u clean and lube the chain at regular intervals there will be some sound from the chain u can’t hide the chain sound completely 100%. Because of the dusty and bad roads in our country the chain tends to get dirty loose & noisy within a short period of time.

E mail to Yamaha then, they may be able to rectify your issue.

Can u explain in detail what type of noise u r getting from chain??? does the noise only comes under hard acceleration or even during normal riding conditions.

No noise while acceleration or while using clutch.only when accelator is released or wheel running the engine

                    HI,
I own a Yamaha FZ. Currently using Motul 7100 engine oil in my FZ.
Which oil i should use for top up whenever the oil level goes down.
(Motul 7100 has comparatively longer drain interval).

I dont have another bottle of Motul 7100 since it is bit expensive, can i use any other cheaper oil?
Is there any low cost alternative to use it for top up.

Looks like your rear tire is not aligned properly with the front. Something is wrong there, because of which the chain is wearing out fast. Do you see any uneven damage to tires on one side than other?

Any past drops or accidents to rear, which have hit chassis hard? maybe some bends? Is Swing arm in perfect condition, i mean without bends?

Also, How often do you lube your chain?

I have same doubt about chassis or swing arm shape.but how to chek it ? Never had an accident, hit or drop. I lube chain at 500 or 600kms.

Take it to those who fix those spoke wheels. they will do these kind of stuff. forgot the exact term. sorry !

You can find the issue using some threads too. Check on youtube. Its too easy to do but you need veryyyyyy keeeeen Eyes to find the difference.

Is there any other points to chek, i mean any internal parts in engine or gear ?

                              • Yamaha FZ fork filled with wrong oil quantity

                                Hi XBHPians,

Recently my Yamaha FZ front forks oil seal was leaking.
So, I took my bike to a nearby local mechanic. He changed the seals as well as changed Fork oil in both the front forks.

He filled 350ml of Motul 20w fork oil in each fork. But, later while going through Yamaha FZ Thread i got to know that the correct fork oil quantity should be 459ml.
Is there any way i can fill 109ml more without disassembling the whole setup?

There is a disturbing loud noise whenever I go through any big pot hole. Mechanic is not willing to admit his mistake, he is telling me there is no problem with oil quantity and advising me to change the suspension springs which are inside !.

Please tell me if there is a way i can just open the top bolt, pour some oil? will it work.
Don't want to shell out 200 rs again for fork servicing in some other service center.
