Ideally, it should be 1.2L when the oil filter is also replaced.

Re: Yamaha fz16/fazer engine oil & oil filter change
It isn't an issue. My bike was also filled with only a litre of engine oil for 6 years (fz16) and it didn't had any engine problem.Originally posted by Verma View Post

Re: Yamaha fz16/fazer engine oil & oil filter change
Oops my bad.actually I asked this question in a thread discussing whether 1.1l or 1.2l or only 1l lubricant should be used.my question was then moved to this thread by a Mod.Originally posted by thippu.dr View PostYour question is itself a big confusion[emoji28] , explain that once again clearly!
Got my engine oil changed today at Authorized Yamaha Service Centre to Motul 5100 15w50.But this time too used only 1l as the pack is 1l.Should I order one more off Amazon and topup with 100ml or 200 ml or 'no I am good'.

Thanks for answer ,kind of relief. Was worried a bit of ruining my engine in long term.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostIt isn't an issue. My bike was also filled with only a litre of engine oil for 6 years (fz16) and it didn't had any engine problem.

What else did you expect after running for 6.5k+ kms on the same oil.Originally posted by Verma View PostPS:was running at 6.5k + with yamalube 300rs. One.oil was complete blackwhen removed.
Change the oil every 3k kms, no more than that.

Yamaha Fazer FI Engine Oil change experience
First impressions of Motul oil i am using are very good. But it may be partially to the fact that i was running my last yamalube for too long(6500~km).But one thing is for sure,At higher revs ie beyond 6-6.5k engine feels a lot more smooth than it did with yamalube. Also there was a a sound from engine block sometimes though not substantial when i swithed off the engine. That particular sound is reduced with engine oil change.I know i may be over analysing but i pay too much attention to my engine.Yamaha RX 135 2010- 700km

It's not an issue or problem. That's how electronic fuel injected engines starts. Any brand bike with FI work's like this.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View Post
Do not require the accelerator to be applied for ignition.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
My tyres are due for replacement. After going through the tyre thread narrowed down to the following.
1.Front- mrf fx1, mrf fy2, Michelin pilot street 110. Amongst these, which one is the best. What is the difference between the 2 mrfs. Also the Michelin is 10mm larger. How does that affect the handling of the bike?
2.Rear- revz y, revz m, Michelin pilot street.
Is there a big difference between the 2 mrfs? I believe m has the softer compound. Also if I were to consider pilot street, which would be the correct size, 130/70 or 140/70?
Any other tyres worth considering?
Also noticed that fz suffers from rear brake and chain problems if a non radial tyre like Conti go is used. Why is this so? This rules out tyres like masseter and ceat xoom xl.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Do not upsize the front tyre to michelin pilot street 110, this tyre has a different aspect ratio which will result in speedo error and secondly a broader front tyre will make the front end a bit heavy to steer. Try to stick to stockOriginally posted by kedar3223 View PostMy tyres are due for replacement. After going through the tyre thread narrowed down to the following.

Revz Y is a bit harder compound compared to revz m which comes stock on gixxers.
Both 130/70 and the 140/70 will result in 2 changes 1- both being higher profile tyre the bike will become tall geared as a result you will lose a bit of acceleration but will also gain a bit of top end. 2- being tall tyres the height of the bike from rear will increase as a result the braking will be more front biased as you mentioned the feedback from rear brakes will decrease a bit.
There is no chain problems as you mentioned and the changes I mentioned are not because of radial or bias ply tyres these are because of tyre height i.e. aspect ratio of the tyres.
I am using Zapper s 140/70 and quite happy with it, on the stock tyre my bike used to scrape on speed breakers with pillion but after putting on the new taller tyres the bike never touched any speedbrakers
I miss the low end punch but on long stretches the bike feels more relaxed now on higher speeds as the bike does higher speed on lesser rpms
140/70- 98mm tyre height
130/70- 91mm tyre height
140/60- 84mm tyre height
If you love the stock performance of the bike and don't want to alter the performance of the bike stick to stock sizes both on front and rear.Last edited by Rajdip Saha; 01-04-2018, 01:19 AM.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Decided to go with mrf fy2 at front and Michelin pilot street 130/70 at the rear. I hope it's the right choice. As you mentioned, even I'm suffering from belly scrapes when riding with a pillion on the stock 140/60.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostRevz Y is a bit harder compound compared to revz m which comes stock on gixxers.
Both 130/70 and the 140/70 will result in 2 changes 1.....
Mps 130/70 seem to have good performance and life from what I've read so far and also a good compromise wrt size
Wanted to try pirelli sport demon/dragon, but no local availability and 2015 stock online is keeping me away.
