thanks for the reply....my bike right now is in such a good shape as if i bought it yesterday so its very difficult to part away from my bike plus quality it offers is unmatched...from inside I know fz is what I want ....now thinking of doing somes mods from local tuners to improve its performance. ...

[QUOTE=Leo_Vanquisher;1166654]since you are interested in yamaha bikes, I have a suggestion wait for yzf-r3/25 it may be launched in august...it has all that you desire more power and better comfort level than the yzf r15, as it is more touring oriented riding dynamics. as shifting from fz to r15 is marginally better for power but a compromise in comfort for longer rides...but its ultimately your call, just drive both the bikes back to back for a few kms then pick what feels special to you....[COLOR="silver"]ya I guess I should wait what yamaha has to offer.....man ur mileage figures are dame good...

        • Hi people,
I have read all the threads and this is my first comment here. I am planning to buy a bike in few months. Had shortlisted Fz16 v2 and suzuki gixxer 155. First had more inclination towards gixxer due to its high power and of course looks, but then read review about Fz v2 and realised that it has better quality, more comfortable but the big downer is power . Now I have few questions about Fz16 V2.

          1. Suspension is stiff and is bit unforgiving, is it true?
          2. How is the pillion comfort for saree-clad women for shorter and longer rides?
          2. Does Fz16 is scratch prone as Fzs?
          4. How cheap is the maintainence? and 6000km FI cleaning, would be how much?
          5. Does the bike have vibes until 80-85kmph?
          6. How good is the ASS of yamaha in Bengaluru?
          7. Is there anyway to fix the fuel indicator problem?
          8. Last question, how to know the official ex-showroom price of FZ16 V2 in bangalore?

Thats a long list, hope I get answer for above questions.
          Cheers.

Suspension is stiff and is bit unforgiving, is it true?it will feel stiff initially but after 1000kms it would get soften enough to be comfortable. .after 4000kms it is very comforting to ride....2. How is the pillion comfort for saree-clad women for shorter and longer rides?pillion comfort is very good ...no complaint heard from anyone2. Does Fz16 is scratch prone as Fzs?not yet seen on mine..infact paint quality is best among its competition4. How cheap is the maintainence? and 6000km FI cleaning, would be how much?till 2 free services I paid 500 and 200 more for fi cleaning..5. Does the bike have vibes until 80-85kmph?this bike has least vibration I can guarantee u that....6. How good is the ASS of yamaha in Bengaluru?no idea7. Is there anyway to fix the fuel indicator problem?no such problem ...u will get used to it...no big deal8. Last question, how to know the official ex-showroom price of FZ16 V2 in bangalore?Thats a long list, hope I get answer for above questions.Cheers.

I didn't know this thread is so inactive or non-responsive, I get better answer in Motorbeam rather than here. Gixxer thread seems to be more enthusiastic about new people. Well had bitter experience from xbhp.

Yes, plus you will fry the clutch plates very early with more friction.

                        Cheers,

If you are using half-clutch and use the accelerator, then it will reduce mileage.

There is only one scenario where using half-clutch and accelerator is needed, this is when you are riding in slippery road. You need to do it to control the torque, otherwise the rear-wheel will spin out of control and you might fall.

The other scenario of using clutch and accelerator when shifting gears is not a worry. You will use half-clutch only for a fraction of a second and for that much amount of time the fuel wasted is negligible.

                            Thanks for your valuable advices.
I think I have already fried my clutch plates because my bike is not taking pickup after 50 as used to take earlier. Can the clutch plates be the problem?

Let it be there for 2 min and then straighten it up. It will show 2 bars or more for a few km. Also, last bar blinking doesn't mean absolute reserve always. It's a digital sensor and you always have few hundred ml fuel plus or minus.
But yeah, over time you start getting a fairly accurate figure.
