Such rare occurrences occur rarely and you rarely get to report such occurrences. All the five elements of nature must come together to favor such an accomplishment.Originally posted by vedavyasa86 View Post127kmph? i think you are beating the company's figures :P

hahaha...true that!
by the way, any ideas for the tank covers/pads to protect the tank from scratches.
also, i feel the gear shifting is little hard. ( just completed 100 kms) i dont get time to ride my bike, i use office cab :P (go green)
is it okay to let my dad/brother to ride it during the break in period? or single hand drive is recommended?
this is bugging me since last few days, some says oil change should happen in the first 100 kms, to remove the engine particles, also the engine oil that comes with the bike will be in the engine for god knows how many days! is this true? or shall i change only after 1000kms during the first service.
please advices bhai!

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
shift up at any rpm above 4500 and below 6500 shift down speed-bike can only pick up from 5th gear around ~30 kmph, 4th ~25 kmph, 3rd ~20 kmph, 2nd ~10 kmph, 1st bellow ~10 kmph.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
[QUOTE=vedavyasa86;1155772]Keep shifting up in the same way in each and every gear and the difference is you get a very smooth shift it almost feels like a new experience with the same bike.Originally posted by Leo_Vanquisher View PostI think i do it religiously, but will keep that in mind this time

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Hello to all, this is my first post at xbhp.
Last Sunday I visited a local showroom of Yamaha dealer and inquired about FZS Fi price and accessories will be offered with it. The sales person quoted me Rs.96300 for it with seat cover, rear view mirror and ISI helmet and I have to buy leg guard separately. Price quoted seemed little high to me.
Please tell me at what should be the right price for buying fzs fi in West Bengal. Yamaha website doesn't display on road price for different states.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
it depends on the road tax in your state in bangalore its highest I bought it for 98,000 rs without helmet but other accessories like crash guard, grips & indicator buzzer. Its much cheaper in a few cities due to lower taxation from their state government. Also FZ V2 is cheaper by 3000 rs than FZ-S V2.Originally posted by Kanchan_biker View PostHello to all, this is my first post at xbhp.Last Sunday I visited a local showroom of Yamaha dealer and inquired about FZS Fi price and accessories will be offered with it. Problem with my FZ
Hi all,
From the last one week am having problem with my FZ, whenever I reduce the accelerator to change the gear, up or down, and as soon as I release the clutch, bike switches off. And it refuses to start - self-start, kick and kick start, with choke pulled up. In the last four days, feels like bike is coughing, power and pickup suddenly goes down, and finally engine shuts down. I have to tow it towards the pavement, and try starting it up, via self-start or kick start. Before leaving from home, I kick-start and keep the bike on idling for five to six minutes, and then I start riding. Seriously dont know what is wrong with it.
Yesterday took the bike to a local mechanic, he cleaned the filter, spark plug, and said the bike is fine, which was true for some ten kilometers, after that again the problem continues.
Five or six months back similar problem was spotted, and my regular mechanic said that water had seeped in, after he cleaned, my bike was running fine. Now again I have the same problem.
Can anybody please help me here and tell me what and where should I be looking to fix my bike ?
Cheers!!

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Hi,need information on the reartyre hugger on version 2.0. It is very helpful during the rainy season and yamaha has done a great job by offering it. I had enquired in couple of showrooms in mumbai. the 1st one said cost of the tyre hugger would be Rs.450 but will not let me see whether it is compatable or not. I will have to straight away purchase it, where as the 2nd one said that the whole thing is made of 5 parts to be assembled and will cost me anything between Rs.850-1000 with nuts and bolts. He didnt have any stock and it might take about 15 days to arrive.
It rains a lot here in mumbai and my bike-Gixxer becomes a mud splasher. even the mono shock gets covered with mud. So my intent is to put this on with some modifications if needed as I know the tyre profile of both bikes are same. Can anyone share some info about the correct pricing and whether I can get it fixed on my bike.
I will be happy if it is possible and suggestions from fellow members will be of great help.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Even if not genuine, it does not affect warranty in any way.Originally posted by yesbee View PostI too had the same doubt, so i enquired about this on my second service. The SVC guys (Hilton Yamaha) replaced it and informed me that the part replaced was a genuine yamaha part and it doesn't affect the warranty terms. Today is my third service and i'm going to refit the stock fender coz of monsoon season hitting Kerala soon.
