I was driving home from office the other day,(Just washed up my baby, shined her in the morning, shines in all her glory). saw couple of guys chasing me for almost

    10 mins.

finally, one of the guy asked, bike masth hain, helmet super! kitna hua on road. ( i was wearing my brand new MT Axiss Geo 3 Black riding my FZ FI panther Black)

I said, 94 onroad with accessories, the guy was shocked!

second guy asked ' mileage kitna'

I said 55 avg from most of the users ( i haven't checked mine yet, still in break in period).

they were in total shock!! :P

    Hi Guys,

have a question, i have ridden 500kms only on my new FZ FI, i still feel the gear switching to be hard and having trouble in lower gears, slow moving traffic. sometimes bike stalls and i finding it difficult to switch it back to neutral.

can someone please advice, is this common problem with new bikes, i used to ride my dad's pulsar never faced stalling problems even in slow traffic. it pretty old bike and completed 25K kms.

also, how to deal with sudden braking situations, you know idiots on roads come all of sudden on to the road, i usually do brake in such situations but what is the best to way to avoid stalling and proceed. This is my weak zone.looks stupid but had faced this problem and i dont want to hurt myself and my new bike!

Also, how much was your FZ FI mileage during break in period ( before 1000kms).

    please help.

Live like you mean it, then get a bike!

You would have to practice your skill to avoid bike stalling at low speeds. Practice low speed riding in an empty space and work on coordination between clutch use and braking.
Also, get the service done. Gear shifts should get smooth after the oil change.

Hi Guys, have a question, i have ridden 500kms only on my new FZ FI, [/QUOTE] For smooth gear shifts rev up to which ever rpm you are currently upshifting and immediately close the throttle after you have fully pulled in the clutch, change the to a higher gear, release clutch and rev again. this is quite tricky at first but with daily practice it's quite simple to master. no more hard gear shifts at all if done right. since the bike is short geared you do need to maintain it above ~2200 rpm at all time in any given gear or it will stutter and stall. so try down shifting in slow moving traffic also you will have to keep changing between 1st and 2nd gears.in slow traffic start with 1st gear when it has too little pull and you shift to second to make progress and then the vehicle in front directly stops then you have to go down to 1st gear again because 2nd gear pull is too much at times. the bike pulls up to ~10 kmph in second after that do shift down or it will stall. keep doing this switch between 1st and 2nd gear till the traffic clears out and your bike will never stall.for gear not down shifting to neutral on sudden stopping-- always downshift before you stop the bike its easy to downshift when bike is in motion, for example you are approaching a signal and its red, try downshifting to neutral from at least 10-15 meters from your stopping position. and for unplanned sudden braking use a simple method with clutch pulled move your bike little to the front by one leg and in other leg keep downshifting, at times you can't downshift even if you move your bike forward or backwards due to gear lock. I do not know the exact reason but somehow the gear is kind of struck/locked to the transmission or something, but to downshift you need to switch off your engine and then downshift, it works only after the engine is shut off, then move the bike a little and downshift. this happened only twice with me so i always downshift in advance to prevent stalling or gear lock.and about mileage best I got during break-in was about ~72 kmpl.

The fuel bar sometimes shows different amount of fuel in the tank
Is the same thing with everyone?

Also please tell me how much the bike can run in 1 fuel bar
Is it like 1 bar = 2 litres?

Its the common problem with every fz model. My last 2 bars reads like 2 litres. Third bar stays for 75km. 4th give around 80. And so on. I think thats why the sizes of the bars are in ascending order. Just a personal experience.

to get exact fuel bar readings, place your bike in an upright position on a flat surface, if necessary put it on center stand. then with engine kill switch off, turn on your bike. now the fuel meter reboots on start up and goes from 1st bar to next bar. and each fuel bar does not store same amount of fuel.

Guys which petrol you use for your bikes?
Power petrol or the normal one?
                        And a small issue now
When I apply the front brake at speed like 25 kmph or less a sound comes from the disc brake. Any idea what's that?

Normal petrol with octane rating 91 is just enough. Using shell with higher octane rating or power petrol from HP bunks wont give any difference + it will be pure waste of money. Just fill her from a good petrol bunk with octane 91.

Regarding the sound coming from the front rotor or brake pad. Go to the service center ask them to remove the brake pads and rub it with sandpaper. It could be due to uneven brake pad surface. If it is a new bike brakes will take to run in. So a wee bit sound is acceptable.

                          Cheers,
