Try Sprint Yamaha in Hosur Road, and explain the sound; 'sounds like tappet. Couple of YRC folks stand by its quality delivery.

Thanks for your input. I had asked to check for tappet but even that is not the issue. It is clicking sound that persists even when engine is cold or warm. I heard sprit yamaha got lot of negative commments.I stay at hebbal and work at Bellandur. Is there any Fi specific service cetre in banaglore where. Please do share your experience also.

                Thanks,

Pacer Motors, Hebbal has done some good work on my fzs-fi but I wouldn't suggest them, mainly for their lackadaisical attitude. I use to service my old fz in Orion Motors opposite forum in Hosur road but I am not sure of their Fi competency. Since we cannot trust a third party with the new Fi bike as of now, I guess we are left with no choice but the SVCs. Pacer Motors, Hebbal should do, IMO.

Hi, did you get it installed outside the service center? doing this caused any warranty issues with Yamaha!

Apologies if you have answered it already, but i am thinking of getting it done. that tyre hugger is the only flaw (looks wise) on the new FZ! also can you please provide the cost details. appreciate your help. by the way, your ride looks awesome now! rear got sporty!!

First of all a big thanks to all the members here. Athough at the time of buying my bike, my account was not activated I learnt a lot by "lurking" here. For the necessity of my daily commute for job and occassional trips to the city I bought this bike. i rode a friend's FZ back in 2010, and it felt as one of the smoothest bike that time. The good experience of past and now the promised better fuel economy (and the FI) helped me to narrow down on this model. Bought my machine on 30th August after a 20 days waiting period on the Astral Blue color. The Kota Yamaha quoted a price of whooping 96k for this bike. But upon a lots of grilling and negotiations I found out this included a lots of unwanted things. Finally bought it for 91k (80,240 ex showroom) including leg guard, extended warranty, seat cover, bike cover.

                    Tech Specs:
                    Engine

                    Air cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve
                    149cc
                    57.3mm x 57.9mm
                    9.5:1
                    9.7 kW (13.1PS) / 8000 rpm
                    12.8 N・m (1.3 kg f・m) / 6000 rpm)
                    Electric
                    Force-feed lubrication, wet sump
                    Fuel injection
                    Wet, multiple-disc
                    Constant mesh 5-speed
                    1st=2.714 2nd=1.789 3rd=1.318 4th=1.045 5th=0.875
                    Single Cylinder
                    12V, 4.0AH (10H), Sealed type

                    Experience so far:

The bike has the similar characteristics of the previous version, but the engine feels more refined from acoustics and also from ride smoothness. Have done 400 km
in it with an average mileage of little above 40 kmpl. This figure is pretty exciting considering the poor mileage of the previous FZS.

The power is good in the low range, but the bike struggles in the higher rev range. You can feel the limitation once you cross 5000 rpm in 5th gear. Sticking to the instruction manual I have not tried opening the throttle all the way frequently, but have touched 90 km/hr with a pillion on highway. The ride is butter smooth in the below 60km/hr range and feels a little rough post 60. The service center guys have said this will be tuned in the first service.

The front disc brake does what it is expected to do. A rear disc brake would have been nice, but is not a necessity for me as I stick to the low speed range mostly, in which the drum brake suffices.

The Astral Blue colour turned out to be really worth the wait of 20 days, but the bike's fuel tank is really scratch prone. And I doubt the fuel tank will loose its glaze in matter of days.

                    Pros:
                    1. FI system increases fuel economy without loosing power
                    2. refined engine
                    3. Killer looks

                    Cons:
                    1. Lack of Rear Disc brake
                    2. Lack of LED Tail lamp
                    3. Poor power delivery in higher rev range

                    Overall a sporty commuter.

great details and fantastic pictures!! cheers

65+ we have a winner here!! even after ripping it so hard ! quote this to YAMAHA group, they may want to put it on their website but seriously 65 on highway is still magic figure!! we would love to see some of the pics of your ride and some reviews!!

                    [QUOTE=avi_loveindia;1135558]Hi all,
My bike going for first service at 1000km in 20 days ,,,Its been a pleaserable experience till now with buttery smooth engine and very supliant ride and killer looks . i belongs to much smaller city and here these types of bikes are very rare seen .So always i get looks , ,, all things going good and very satisfied with this . Earlier thought for Gixxer but no service center here and not much confident on it since it was new in the market.

I calculated bike average on tank fill method and for my suprise ,, this bike constantly giving me 51 Kmpl,,, yes its 51 Kmpl,, i expected it to be 45. Tyres are really good in performance and looks appeal to. Tyres are now ' Rev Z ' which are hard compoud then earlier ones. As i told i am from much smaller city and fellow riders here looks as Alien bike. When I park it in between Commuters ,they all look childish in front of this. Sometimes i have to go offroad too,, some routine village trips and i can say its more comfortable than Pulsar and pillion comfort is good too though lilltle bit hard seats .
Ride quality is simply awesome and when coupled with buttery smooth engine ,, this is all joy to ride and it seems worth for every penny spend on it .

Please tell me what to look for First service like what will have to change or applied

!! this is justified in the first picture man! i could see all the people staring at your bike cheers mate its really an astral beauty!

I too had the same doubt, so i enquired about this on my second service. The SVC guys (Hilton Yamaha) replaced it and informed me that the part replaced was a genuine yamaha part and it doesn't affect the warranty terms. Today is my third service and i'm going to refit the stock fender coz of monsoon season hitting Kerala soon.

Thanks for your reply. I am finally deciding to go to Crystal Auto in Bangalore. Main issue is The Engine sound and the clicking sound.

Please let me know what should I take care of while going for 4th free service. Is there some specific things I need to tell the service ppl. Also the engine oil should I go for.

                            Thanks in Advance.

I am noticing this from the day I got the delivery of my beloved machine. Gear shifts are little hard when I ride it for initial 10-15 mins. After that everything goes smooth. Is that normal?

I think that is totally normal. Even I went for the same issue. They had put some oil but not much difference.

Regarding my 4th service at Crystal Auto. It was pathetic. People listen but there is no work done in the end. Wasted time there. Try avoiding it.
