• Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0

My Fz was lagging at 3rd gear 3000-4500, I mean the smoothness was missing and the bike wasn't feeling stable. Took it to Service center , the mechanic opened some wire and then put it back. After coming from the service center the throttle grip has become loose. If I give little gas RPM goes all the way upto 5000-6000. It feel so awkward when I start my bike it starts rattling vrooom vroom 😩 Any reason ?

P.S- This incident took place yesterday. As market remains closed every Tuesday, So I'll have to visit tomorrow. Anything I can do now ?

Now i read somewhere as matt color are very hard to maintenance and scrach bound. One of my friend said, matt color will get scratches even with simple cloth rubbing on dusty body.

Please help me regarding this. I only loved this color.
Matte finish are really maintenance free..!! The glossy finish from Yamaha is scratch prone and you will have a hard time with it so better go for matte finish..
seriously good stuff...at what rpm u upshift and ur cruising speed...I get near 40 but I do more spirited riding
------------------------------->I upshift at 5k rpm, cruising @ 55~60 kmph with occasional bursts to 70 kmph on empty stretches. and the other factors also influence the fuel efficiency, I drive solo and keep the load low on the bike. keep tyre pressure at recommended levels, fill up half the fuel tank to prevent increase in weight. I also try to maintain speeds constantly. by holding speeds in constant range you can even take the bike and cruise around 90 kmph and still get good fe, but our city traffic is so congested its very hard to maintain the speed which means a lot of fuel is consumed when we stop and try to regain the cruising speed (ie; 90 kmph in this example).

Sorry guys there is some problem while uploading the pic of the scratch.
The scratch is one the tail section of the bike. Scratch is not too big but the blue paint in the area is removed and black part is seen. Will the service centre guys be able to fix it?

Now, its time for some Serious Question, Mileage Problem!! can someone help me solve?

Question: I completed my first service at 655 Km. took her to near by petrol bunk, got tank full, a lady filled the tank and she overspilled the gas to the brim.

I took my ride to work for three days i guess and meter was showing 915 kms . i see that the bars on the fuel reading have dropped by two out of six.

so if i assume that the capacity of the FZ FI tank to be 12 litres with (1.5 ltrs reserve). i completed 260 kms (915-655) and used 4 litres of petrol( 2 bars) assuming one bar equals to two litres of fuel, so what is the mileage i am getting???

I have calculated but i am getting shocking number, so just want to get opinion before i get super excited and confirm if my understanding and calculation is right?

Please note:

1) I travel around 70km two way from home to office, around 50% city and 50% highway.
2) That damn Eco Mode Green light lits up most of the time, so i am in the economy range, hardly gets chance to drive more than 70kmph.
3) single rider always, i weigh around 57 kgs ( i am underweight)

Experts please solve this riddle

"To measure mileage you might have to fill the tank full, reset your trip meter and ride till some 100 kms (use any suitable range of kms you want). ----------------------------important step-----> then go back to fill full tank. now measure how much fuel you have to fill to get full tank. using the amount of fuel you fill second time you know how much you took to cover 100 kms(or how much ever you have achieved for this test). this above method is not best mileage possible but realistic one. Mileage depends on lot of things like weight of the rider and pillion and city/highway riding, to extract best mileage you can try filling half the tank, maintain optimum tyre pressure, keep load less to extract best mileage possible". do the above mentioned method, the amount of each fuel bar is not equal to 2 liters!!!

fuel meter is very erratic ...especially on fz lower bars holds less petrol as bar rises the quantity of petrol denoted by that particular bar is more than the previous one...wait for more kms and see how bars will fall.....3 liters of petrol means 3 bars on meter ..personal observation..

instead of resetting the meter, i can go directly to bunk and get full tank and look for the exact fuel burnt for the range i already covered. will it not help? correct me if my understanding is wrong.

-------> yes that should do as well...no need to change anything directly go to the pump fill the tank upto the brim and note down the fuel quantity. (I had pasted the earlier reply from an old post I had quoted, so I had put it as reset the trip meter.) and tell us how much mileage your bike gave.
