Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I haven't faced any cold start issue yet. My bike has been sitting idle for almost 12 days and it started immediately on the first go. But it does stall if you keep the idle rpm any lower than 1400. You own FZ or planning to buy!Originally posted by abhishek_jain View PostDoes this bike face cold start problem..!?

Planning... I read some reviews were people were speaking about this problem in 2nd & 3rd year of ownership.Originally posted by chinmoyaj View PostI haven't faced any cold start issue yet. Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I'm in my 2nd year of ownership and have clocked 15k on the odo. The only major problem I faced is the wheel bearings and the racer as called by SVC guys. And the chain sprocket set was changed at 13k which frankly is to soon. The problem mentioned is mostly due to low idle rpm. And you need to clean the injectors time to time.Originally posted by abhishek_jain View PostPlanning... Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I'm not committed to bike in matter of maintenance... I get it done where ever I get time (sometime 4-5 months of gap)... No personal maintenance other then lubing the chain... So can this bike bare me..!?Originally posted by chinmoyaj View PostI'm in my 2nd year of ownership and have clocked 15k on the odo. Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
It is a fuss free ride, most reliable in dependable among hornet, gixxer and other 150cc bikes but would be better to change engine oil once in 2500km or switch to full synthetic engine oil if you plan not to change your habit.Originally posted by abhishek_jain View PostI'm not committed to bike in matter of maintenance... Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
4 months duration for servicing is ok as the manual tells so. Other than that if you want to keep the bike in best shape then you definitely need some periodic maintenance. And one more thing, if you are one of those rough riders who doesn't care if your bike hits a pothole at 60kmph then your forks are bound to suffer. Oil seal in FZ tends to leak if you glide over potholes at a fair speed. I've seen many FZs face this problem. And all of the owners were pretty rough in riding the bike. Other than that it will bare you fine. And lubing the chain will not be enough. You'll need to clean it before lubing and if you plan to do it yourself, it takes fair amount of time.Originally posted by abhishek_jain View PostI'm not committed to bike in matter of maintenance... Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
As far as I know they will pour some cleanup solution in the engine and keep it running for 15-20 min. Then the engine oil will be drained. It will clear all the carbon particles in the engine. I've seen it done on my car. Not entirely sure about bikes. Procedure should be same.Originally posted by Rajeesh Raju View PostEngine clean up means ?

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Is their anyone who knows the right or approximate cost for alignment of handlebar?
My bike fell in parking with the weight of one other bike on its left side so now the handle is very slightly bent towards right and they are quoting 1200Rs for alignment, so i just wanted to confirm the same before dropping my bike at SVC within a day or two.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Maybe only the handle bar is bent. It costs some 350rs. From a simple fall like yours, it shouldn't cause any more damage.Originally posted by rajat.singh View PostIs their anyone who knows the right or approximate cost for alignment of handlebar?

As for alignment, my bikes forks were slightly bent and I got them fixed at 750rs from the svc. (my bike is fz-16)
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Of course it has an air filter.Originally posted by Raty_FZ View PostDoes FZ version 2 has air filter? Last week when I went for a service the SVC guy told that normal air filters are not suitable for version 2. He said there is no air filter. I was confused after this.
