Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
the grade for semi synthetic would be 20w50 and fz needs 20w40 i hope you know that. they would deny to do that but if you have good repo with svc, they might allow it without cancelling your warranty...any specific issue with stock oil ?Originally posted by yamaboy View Post

Thanks i will try downshift and let you know

Pulling the clutch at 5th gear...and then down shift after the bike has come to a stop will simply not happen. So make sure u keep downshifting while u are decelerating. I recommend this to my friends who own Yamahas.
2) Chain lube spill is absolutely common with every bike which has a open chain type. So not a problem specific to your bike.
3) TRUE. Not very good bite. Very less feedback. Locks up easily too.
4) Not an issue with my bike.
5) keeping headlamp running while engine is OFF is a malpractice. Avoid that. And NEVER EVER apply throttle while trying to start the bike. The bike just wont start. In signals we generally tend to do that out of panic.Yamaha FZ 2.0 User Manual:

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
No issue but I have heard that motul oil increases smoothness of the bike and has drain interval of 4-4.5 k.Originally posted by ronit1992 View Postthe grade for semi synthetic would be 20w50 and fz needs 20w40 i hope you know that. they would deny to do that but if you have good repo with svc, they might allow it without cancelling your warranty...any specific issue with stock oil ?

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Do keep me posted about your mods.Originally posted by ronit1992 View Posti missed ur reply.....i had enough with the gearing . for my kind of usage stock gearing is perfect and at 10000kms now engine seems to like high revs .high profile tyre might be better idea in which i am also interested hornet tyre is high profile from the looks of it that might come as a option in future ...for the time being i am including 4 things first system g monthly one full tank to keep the fuel lines clean second would be avengers rvm to better view third would some padding for the seat and last would be a loud horn to help while over taking...have you done anything to your ride otherthan sproceting
I am leaving for Goa tomorrow, will get to know how my bike behaves with the tall gearing on a long tour. Will update after the trip.
My ride is Fazer, and I found the mirrors to be okay. the are not excellent, but they work fine if properly adjusted.
the mods done so far to my bikes are :
1. Both headlamps glow in High & Low beams
2. Original philips pilot lamp with 12 year warranty.
3. CREE LED Auxilary lamps on crash guard
4. Mobile phone charger and mobile holder
5. i-pop Blind spot mirrors for better RVMs
Many more modds coming soon ...

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
why you want to do tha..braking is sufficient for the kind of speeds it does. disc setup at the rear will only induce un necesary fishtails...Originally posted by vignesh0707 View PostCan I fit Yamaha r15 swing arm to fz v2 with disc assembly, is it a direct fit

best wishes for your ride . do post your experience with the mods. a new problem croped up this week .somebody droped my bike and t stem is bent now , dont know what to do with that . bike moves straight when leaving hands but while holding handlebar it feels outward from the leftside.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View PostDo keep me posted about your mods.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Depends on rapport with SVC. I was running on Motul 3000/5100 throughout my warranty period on FZ v1. There is new Yamalube FS for R15/R3 available at SVC.Originally posted by yamaboy View PostGuys i have a doubt.
I am thinking about changing oil to motul semi synthetic.
Will it void the warranty?
Will the people at service center change it if I ask them to?
Members please reply as I have my servicing nearing.
Thanks in advance.

Yamaha switched to 10W40 all their bikes except the 100 cc ones. (FZ v1 was 20w40, then 20w50, now 10w40 and r15 was 15w50, now 10w40).Originally posted by ronit1992 View Postthe grade for semi synthetic would be 20w50 and fz needs 20w40 i hope you know that. they would deny to do that but if you have good repo with svc, they might allow it without cancelling your warranty...any specific issue with stock oil ?
And after all, they had been using R15's 15W50 semisynthetic on customer request over ages.Last edited by deville_56; 07-08-2016, 11:50 AM.#RetiredRider

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I am writing this on behalf of my roommate who got an FZ 2.0 recently. He says the headlight is not powerful enough to drive safely and he was really impressed by the Philips x-treme vision plus bulbs I got for my gixxer. He wanted to know if he can change the bulb without any issue especially with the battery. I'm guessing fz has an h4 bulb. So can he put the same one I got(Philips h4 12V 60/55W X-treme vision plus) or an osram nightbreaker? If not which would you suggest?
Also, can you recommend a good mobile holder for the bike which might support 5.5inch phone and maybe waterproof case? I have been searching for quite some time for my gixxer too.

installed 15t front sprocket.
Pickup has reduced. The crispiness is gone.
100 kmph coming @7000 rpm. Overall cruisability is good, feels smoother.
My light weight friend could push the bike till 131 kmph (on speedo) while i could do a 128 kmph top.
