I got your point...but now Hero dealer has more confused me...
92k for FzS v2.0 or 92k for Karizma R (2014)....!!!
Tough desicion...!!!
92K for speed, power and mild quality - ZMR
92K for performance, sheer looks and quality - FZ FI
By the way, I got mine for 87K in Pune

After completing 600 kms and 25 days of purchase, I gave my bike for first servicing.
They are asking for 820/- for oil and oil filter change and chain lubrication. Is there anything else I should ask service center guys to do for the first service?

And after 1st service, since I have still not completed 1000 kms, do I need to still ride with breakin restrictions?

Mine was 340/- for oil and 40/- for oil filter.
Why 550/- for engine oil? Are they filling with synthetic oil? Ask them for such hefty price or complain it to Yamaha.
Yes you need to ride within the restrictions.
Whats the mileage are you getting?
Cheers

Pune to Goa - New Bike - First Time Rider - Tips Please
Hello All,
As my name reveals, I bought my first bike Yamaha FZ FI V2 a month back. Have completed 600kms till now and had first servicing today.
One of my old friend (who owns old bullet) has asked me to accompany him to Goa. This would be my first long drive in my life and also for my new bike.
Can you please provide few tips on riding, biking, safety and care so I and my precious can have many more such rides in future?
PS: I have not completed 1000kms breakin which was mentioned in owner's manual but since I had first servicing with oil and oil filter change, I guess its ok.
Regards,
to-be-rider

Unfortunately, the service center is Yamaha's official factory shop without dealer. The company is operating it.Originally posted by H3c70R View Post820/- is too much.

Should I need to worry if they are using synthetic oil?
Mileage - I dont know cause I am not measuring it but I do count my expenses. But after purchase, I have filled petrol for 1000/- and drove for 600kms before giving today which was still indicating 2 bars.

AFAIK you should use mineral oil only till 3000kms. Then change it to semisynthetic till 5000kms. Then use fully synthetic oil after 5000kms.Originally posted by yamahaFZFI View PostUnfortunately, the service center is Yamaha's official factory shop without dealer. The company is operating it.

You should go to the Yamaha India site and make a report of this heavy charges. Their customer care is very good, self-experienced. Mail Yamaha about it with photo of the bill as attachment.

And 250 for chain lubrication is a major rip off. Revolt.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Yamaha Factory Shops are thugs, trust me. They will fill R15's oil into FZ, which isn't the right grade and right oil for it. When I use to get my bike serviced at YFS, they use to charge me Rs. 200 for chain lube + 12.36% Service Tax, which comes to Rs. 224 for lubing the chain.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Thanks for the support guys. Here is the update:
#1. They have used YAHAMALUBE 4T 15W-50 SL (Semi Synthetic) Oil. According to them, its recommended for FZ FI.
#2. They have used some Motul chain lubricant. One guy showed the can is made in Japan and costs 1400/- in open market.
#3. I lost my helmate somewhere in the process.
#4. The bike felt much smoother and powerful. The gear shift is crisp and quick. Had a lovely ride on highway after picking up the bike. Whatta experience!!!
WTH I went to their site, wrote the whole complaint, and there is no submit button. Bummer!!Originally posted by H3c70R View PostAFAIK you should use mineral oil only till 3000kms. Then change it to semisynthetic till 5000kms. Then use fully synthetic oil after 5000kms.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I did 1st service on 1000km 1 month before.now 1900km ran. Now 4500rpm I get 60kmph,still I didn't take 2nd service.
1, Iam getting engine roaring sound when I go above 60kmph
2, Gear shifting is very difficult. Is this normal or any complaint.
I didn't check fuel efficiency yet .
In first service they didn't replace oil filter,, they changed oil only Yamaha lube.

Maintain your service schedule as mentioned in the manual, else you will void your warranty.Originally posted by md2yasar View PostI did 1st service on 1000km 1 month before.now 1900km ran. Now 4500rpm I get 60kmph,still I didn't take 2nd service.

Why wasn't the oil filter changed? Don't follow blindly what SVC tells you. Change oil filter at every oil change, irrespective of the kms you have covered. Since you have completed the break in period, it was necessary to change the oil filter.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
didn't quite get the first part; the bike usually goes till 9k rpm with a gradual increase in the exhaust note, revvy beyond 7k but it feels better than the version 1.Originally posted by md2yasar View PostI did 1st service on 1000km 1 month before.now 1900km ran.
