Its a medium compound with slight inclination towards soft, i believe. The tires take time to get heated for maximum grip. The tire was loosing grip in the high altitudes of ghats in idukki, kerala and took its time to avoid unwanted drifts. Corners are easy with these rubbers - bend it like the doctor. It may not be like the psd but it isnt bad either.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Revz y has performed flawlessly so far and i can vouch for its better stability than contigo. I have mercilessly used the tires in extremely bad patches, gravel, wet surface and smooth highways. Although it isn't like the metzelers, it brought a smile to my face everytime, especially in wet and rough tarmac. 6000+ kms and haven't faced a puncture.Originally posted by accuengineer View Post

Thats not surprising because the mileage figures we have noticed in our group had ranged from 34 to 75 and 60+ consistently for some. Being a current owner of the fz v1, i must sat that This fz v2 is really something and pleasantly surprising.Originally posted by H3c70R View PostBENEATH THE REMAINS.........

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
It has to be FZ then. 5 years from now, I don't want to look back and think, what a horrible mistake I have made choosing Gixxer just because FZ waiting period was long.Originally posted by Ankey View Post"buy the one which makes you wake up in the middle of the night and come to the garage just to have a look at it." Another one says that "if you can walk back to your room after parking your bike without looking back at it, you've got the wrong one".
No man, gixxer doesn't have that bad looks. It's just not photogenic. Gixxer pics never impressed me, but when I saw the bike in front of me, its sheer mascular beauty(partly because of the fact that its design is inspired from FX and GXR1000). The front forks, tank, rear tire looks directly copy from FZ. But this is my perception of design, can be wrong.Originally posted by samratbanerjee View PostDude I partly agree with Gixxer buzz but how can you Ignore the Naked Road Monster look and befitting rare Fat Tyre for just a slight increase in power??? And no offence but the gixxer just doesnt seem beautiful to me at all. The shiny dual silencer just looks like any "Jugaad custom bike" and I have no words for the head light console...just think about it. Also you cannot beat FZ in its handling. I'm not saying FZ is really the best but at least it has its own legacy. I mean as Ankey said - Its the bike which can wake you up at night and pull you to garage just to have look at it.
For engine, Yamaha and Suzuki both has its legacy. But the fact of the matter is, Suzuki still has to prove its legacy in 150cc Indian market and with a new engine in gixxer, its doubtful.
In current situation, I would see Gixxer as LML Freedom. Nice initial response, few years later everyone knows the truth.
Are you sure about this? What were the riding conditions?Originally posted by H3c70R View PostHey guys,
I checked the mileage today by tank full to tank full method. Its coming around 55kmpl. I have ridden my bike upto 685kms. What is the mileage you guys are getting?

Listen to your heart brother and do what it says.Originally posted by yamahaFZFI View PostIt has to be FZ then. 5 years from now, I don't want to look back and think, what a horrible mistake I have made choosing Gixxer just because FZ waiting period was long.
I wanted a R15 when I joined the college (2009), but I had to stay in hostel so could'nt get one. So promised myself to buy it with my own money. I didnt buy new clothes for 4 years, no new shoes, same old mobile phone for 4 years, didnt celebrate my birthday for 4 years, saved every rupee I could when I was studying and crossed off days on the calendar every night for 5 years. Completed my B-tech, got a job, saved all my salary for another 8 months and bought my dream bike on 12 march 2014.
Buy the one that does the same to you, and you'll be happy. All the very best for whatever you choose. Happy mile munching. Ride safe.Last edited by Ankey; 10-17-2014, 01:41 PM.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

I'm getting 55kmpl and I'm happy. But 60+ and 75?? :OOriginally posted by chaosaddict View Post

Unbelievable!! How can it be possible to get 60+ consistently from a 150cc bike and that too with card engine?? Need some clarifications.
Yes sir I'm double sure about this. I had filled my tank fully at 162kms. Now I again filled it fully at 677kms. Total fuel needed to fill the tank was 9.41ltrs. Rest can be calculated easily.Originally posted by yamahaFZFI View PostAre you sure about this? What were the riding conditions?

About my riding style, I ride mostly below 60kmph with sometimes going above 75. I have ridden my bike in medium traffic mixed with city and highway riding conditions and on "thik thak" type roads.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I have serviced my bike and getting a 43kmpl just after service (including before service run time). And my ride is to and from work only daily 10kms total with a lots of speed breaker in between. So yes the mileage will touch 50 in highway. And may be go above it

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Gixxer seems to have issues with the ground-clearance (from its ownership thread). Since its a new model, it might have some teething issues. The review from Powerdrift said that the Gixxer also has a longer stopping distance compared to the FZ-FI.Originally posted by yamahaFZFI View PostNow, there are so many talks going for gixxer but none for fz , that it make me feel that my decision criteria's were wrong.
Help, help me out of this dilemma.
Most people seem to be going for the gixxer because it seems like a value-for-money product. Rest is your call.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Mundane monday got effing awesome.
Got a call that the "Lord of the streets" has arrived.
Total on road cost - 86112/- (including 5 year Yamaha warranty, full insurance and accessories)
First ride and engine felt so butter smooth. Don't know why I didn't notice the such smoothness in test drive. I felt handle a big bigger, may be I need to adapt to it as I am used to old generation bike riding. Got little embarrassed at traffic signal, people kept on staring.
