Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Congrats on the wonderful buy, mate. You won't regret it, especially for the fi.Originally posted by ronitgandhi24 View Post
I cannot really confirm on this but it is advisable to keep a check on the frequency of doing the same. If you are talking about lengthy traffic signals, time your on/off accordingly; the bike needs to be kept on idle for the throttle body to adjust the combustion. So if the signal is for 30 seconds or less, it doesn't make sense. Similarly, if it is a minute or more in the signal, ensure that you start the ignition at least 30 seconds before take off. You must have noticed by now, the fi unit makes a light booting sound when you turn on the key to ignition. Keep the bike in idle for a minute or two when you first start it for the day.Originally posted by ronitgandhi24 View PostBENEATH THE REMAINS.........

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Hello Sushobith,
Go for Yamaha FSZ FI Version 2.0. It has been 2.5months since i m using the same. Done 2100KMs and bike is performing very good.
Pro:
1. Handling
2. FE(i m getting around 56kmpl)
3. Braking
cons:
1. not for you if you are looking to cruise at high speeds.
Thanks,
Shrikant

Why do one needs to turn off the ignition key when there is a engine kill switch given??Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostI cannot really confirm on this but it is advisable to keep a check on the frequency of doing the same. I have one doubt, does the FI system needs 30sec to calibrate itself even when the engine kill switch is used?? I don't think so, someone pl clarify.

I meant the engine kill switch - misplacing the terms in a hurry.Originally posted by H3c70R View PostWhy do one needs to turn off the ignition key when there is a engine kill switch given??

The situation differs from bike to bike. I am assuming the kill switch in fz fi cuts the injection because the booting sound comes as soon as it is switched on (if I recall correctly). Try that experiment today and let us know. The conclusion is simple - the sound solidifies the fact that the switch cuts off the fi unit and vice versa. I do not have the bike now to confirm anything. The 30 second timing is my personal habit and is not necessarily a mandate. Experts can clarify on this, or we can always ask the SVC folks.
And yea, thanks for the correction.BENEATH THE REMAINS.........

In the mornings always warm up the engine for around 2 mins, in my R15 the rpm settles down to recommended range(1350/rpm) in that time.Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostCongrats on the wonderful buy, mate. You won't regret it, especially for the fi.

In traffic signals there's no need to start the engine 30 seconds before the light turns to green. But always wait for the fuel pump to finish priming (long buzzing sound)before hitting the ignition.

Check my next post - 30 seconds is completely, absolutely, totally and entirely my SOP. One is free to follow their own timings; works fine as long as it is for the good health of the bike. And the morning thingy, yes, it should be done religiously.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Fill the tank as soon as the fuel bar starts blinking (reserve level reached). Riding in reserve can damage your fi motor as it needs to be submerged in fuel for cooling.Originally posted by shrikant11 View PostHEllo Guys,
