check your manual, if it says not to do it, then there might be some issue. If it doesn't say anything, then it should be fine.

nothing is mentioned in the manual..I refill when the light starts blinking .it would be safe to drive approx 10kms as last point hold more than 2 liters of petrol....

Is it possible to remove the rear mudguard? And the quote is from Dragon Age:Origins, isn't it? Sorry for going OT.
You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame. ~Robert Pirsig

Yes its possible. I have seen one or two bikes with same. But for rainy season I would suggest you put on the mudguard. FZ is notorious for splashing mud. Especially on the pillion.

Today i started by bike after 3days and some burning smell coming near Engine. Please suggest.

I have clocked around 2300kms and 1st Service was done at 800kms. NOw i feel the bike is not running so smoothly. Also, Tires are loose air pressure without any punctures.

                1. The burning smell is an indication of the warm-up, as was told by an SVC guy to me. I've tried inspecting it closely but no signs of anything burning visibly. However, upon riding it gradually disappears.

                2. The oil filter must be changed along with the oil in the first service, 'guess you missed the oil filter IIRC.

                3. The tires shouldn't loose air without any puncture, its in your head, maybe. If you consistently find the same while checking pressure, try examining it closely for punctures - there has to be one. I got two this winter in my ContiGo, thanks to the fantastic roads in Bangalore and the sexy ghats of Kudremukh.

Sometimes the booting sound comes and sometimes it doesn't. Also, one more thing I noticed is that the booting sound comes if you press the engine kill switch to on position just after it was put at off position. But if you will press the engine kill switch to on position after few seconds when it was put at off position the booting sound doesn't come. Does it mean that within those few seconds FI has been booted or booting was not needed at all?? Seems illogical and quite confusing... Need some solid answers

I'm facing a small issue, while shifting from 2nd to 1st gear with fully pressed clutch sometimes (may be 10-12 times in 2.2k kms) a sound like "khataak" comes and its very different from normal gear shifting. What can be the cause?

I'll be going for my 2nd servicing within a week. It's been over 2.2kms.
Should I change the engine oil to semisynthetic? Will it void the warranty?

ya noticed that sound comes only when u swtch on off frequntly...and regardng gear shift noise , its normal nothing to worry...regarding engine oil I would stick yamaha stock oil as it is performing really well and would keep warranty intact aswell...

Unless yamaha has changed its policy, I don't think using a different brand of engine oil will void your warranty. If the SVC guys have told you this then ask them to give it in writing. Tell them you need to check with yamaha. They will fall in line. In fact the spares shop at Orion Yamaha in bangalore sell Motul oils itself.

They are most probably trying to get you to buy oil from the SVC.

The most logical thing to do at this juncture, for you, from what I feel, is to mail/contact the new Yamaha R&D India and get some solid answers.
On the contrary, I can assure/guarantee you that I didn't, in anyway, was involved in building this bike.

Yamaha officially endorses Motul though they put Yamalube in their bikes during service. Therefore, from a business perspective, you aren't voiding the warranty if you switch to a different brand.

                          • Yamaha FZS V2 seat height adjustment.

Hi, I am planning to buy Yamaha FZS V2. My height is 5'2 and while sitting on bike, my both legs together can't reach the ground properly, they just touch the ground. So is there any way the seat height can be lowered somehow for comfortable riding?

                            • Yamaha FZS FI Issues & Experiance

                              Hello All,

Lets make this Thread to discuss about the issues & experience the proud owner of Yamaha FZS FI.

I have clocked around 2500kms, with FE of around 54kmpl mostly ridden in city. I riding in eco mode max time. Recently I started facing few issue with bike:

                              1. There is a strange clinking sound coming while accelerating the bike. As some bot is loose and is preventing the smoothness while revving. (I am unable to explain what exactly be the reason for the same).

                              2. I am waiting for 2nd service to be done at 3000kms.(1st was done at 800kms). Please suggest a better service station in Bangalore
