Please don't find it rude but i am again popping up my question.

Which is the best service centre of Yamaha at Guwahati?? Please someone suggest or should I ask in a different thread (if yes, please suggest the thread).

Where can I find Motul Chain cleaner and chain lube in Guwahati at reasonable price? Also, How many times one can clean the chain from 1 bottle of spray?

Has anyone completed 6k kms? Or has anyone cleaned the FI system. I've heard that it is needed to be cleaned at every 6k Kms and cost of each cleaning is 2500/-... Is it true?

Pl help. Always appreciate the prompt response from you guys. And xBhp is a wonderful platform to learn about your bike. Thank you xBhp.

    Happy riding.
Coincidentally there's this 'mr founder of assam bikers' sitting next to me. So, according to him the best yamaha service centre is JMM Yamaha in nursery, zoo road.

Motul authorised reseller is located opposite to hyosung showroom in paltan bazaar - east point sales.

Mr founder also says that if you have an Assam Bikers logo, a 10% discount is assured. Similarly, if you mention his name in the service center, the treatment will be premium.

          Hi,

Is the fiber body is as strong as the plastic one or any reduction in the strength? The reason for asking this question is , How does the bike (Chassis) fare when a stout person sitting behind?

I need info about this. Please help me in booking a new Yamaha bike...

          Thanks in advance.

The chassis is never made of fiber or even of plastic, its usually made of metal or alloy. Its only the outer body which covers the internal parts of the bike which is made of plastic or fiber.

Thanks for reply. Yup I am aware of that. I was asking about how the whole body fares with a stout person sitting back?

It actually is pretty good.. My roommate who is around 87 kgs drove it and it felt like a breeze to him. Also we both travel daily to office for around 5km and never have i felt any kind of discomfort even in heavy traffic

Can anybody post the picture of the airfilter please and which model of Spark Plug does the FI use? And which grade of oil is recommended for the V2 FI? Thanks.

                        Hello Guys,

Long time lurker, first time posting. Please be soft on me.

I have booked Yamaha FZ FI on 26th Sept from a reputed showroom in Pune. Still they are asking for 10 more days for delivery. Effectively, more than a month of waiting.

                        But, that's not my concern.

Before booking FZ v2, I did a test ride for Apache 180, FZ v1, FZ v2 and Gixxer. Apache was out of discussion in a minute. Between FZ v2 and Gixxer, I got lucky as both the showrooms (yamaha and suzuki) are situated opposite to each other and I did a fair ride comparison within a timespan of 5 mins.

Tu be true, Gixxer is promising. But big letdowns were - small pillion seat, unreliability of Suzuki's after sales & service and lower quality plastic. However, the engine was fantastic. It has sharp revs and makes you feel wow. This was lacking in FZ as FI has made the gear jumps smoother. My two other friends, who came with me and test rode themselves supported these views.

Now, there are so many talks going for gixxer but none for fz , that it make me feel that my decision criteria's were wrong.

I have called up yamaha guys yesterday and asked whether they can return my booking amount, as now I am getting inclined more towards gixxer. They might, but then again I will have to bear gixxer's waiting period. Plus the new honda 160 is coming.

Help, help me out of this dilemma.

Alright brother, its perfectly fine to have second thoughts about the bike you are going to buy. There is a saying among us bikers that "buy the one which makes you wake up in the middle of the night and come to the garage just to have a look at it." Another one says that "if you can walk back to your room after parking your bike without looking back at it, you've got the wrong one". So take your time, ask the owners, test ride once more to be sure and then take the correct decision. The Yamaha guys will return the booking amount for sure.
                          Choose wisely.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Dude I partly agree with Gixxer buzz but how can you Ignore the Naked Road Monster look and befitting rare Fat Tyre for just a slight increase in power??? And no offence but the gixxer just doesnt seem beautiful to me at all. The shiny dual silencer just looks like any "Jugaad custom bike" and I have no words for the head light console...just think about it. Also you cannot beat FZ in its handling. I'm not saying FZ is really the best but at least it has its own legacy. I mean as Ankey said - Its the bike which can wake you up at night and pull you to garage just to have look at it.

                            Ride safe
The day I'll not ride, will be a sad day for me.
