      Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0

Yamaha worked hard to improve the mileage of the bike, they worked hard to get the pillion comfort to the high level, they designed new instrument cluster for this bike, they worked hard to get FI to the bike. But have they done anything with fuel indicator? Does it shows accurate readings? Or is the same old false reading indicator? Owners, anything to say on this?

        Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0

I read somewhere that the FZ-v2's FI(fuel injection) system is cheap and hence needs cleaning and some maintenaince every 6000 kms!!!! I have seen my friend's R15 which is 20k km old and not need any such work with the FI system.
And as if that was enough, they further added that the cost for each such servicing is a whooping rs2500. Now isin't that a bit high.

I am pretty sure that no owner in this country has crossed the 6000 mark to report that cheapness.
Also, I am partially sure that even the cost isn't been reported to be a fixed figure of 2500/- INR

          What sorcery?

Since this new bike was overhyped for its smoothness and improved mileage , one thing is for sure that this is a good smooth engine but ye toh bata yaar kitna deti hai ??

Sorry that it got this far. Sry that my choice of words make it seem like a troll attempt, but I must mention here that the "monkeys able to ride the bike" was meant as a complement from my side. As I felt the handling of FZ 2.0 was so light and easy, like a bicycle. But it offended people.. my bad. I called it a boring commuting purpose bike, which it actually is.. that offended them too. All my fault that I shared my impressions, perhaps the wrong way.
              Peace.

Various online portals have managed to get 46+ kmpl. Also, I own Feb'12 FZ-S and have managed to get 45kmpl many times.

OT: Seems like FZ V2 thread is not ownership thread, but a bashing thread.

                Cheerz!!

Thanks @The Monk for cleaning the thread.. Sometimes we have to get the hands dirty to wipe out the visor! LOL.
@broken87 - Somethings are not told. You are unnecessarily spoiling the ownership thread. A KTM 390 owner comes to 200 NS thread and starts off with - I took a test ride of the new 200 NS and it is blah blah. If one owns a higher cc machine that doesnt mean he goes about ruining the other threads. There is a huge hunk and a moderate guy. It is the responsibility of the hunk to not let the moderate guy feel belittled. This is the rule of nature. There is always someone above you/faster than you somewhere. Also, that moderate guy would get many avenues where the huge hulk can be shown low.. A table tennis player and a tennis player and a basketball player and the wrestler are all different! The wrestler can only win wrestling but the other guy can defeat this wrestler in every other game.

Darrel Sammy caught 'THE SACHIN TENDULKAR' at 74 in his last test. But he didnt show any emotion of catching the best batsman of our times. - That's Humility. VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: Sachin Tendulkar dismissed for 74 in last Test, India V West Indies, Mumbai - Story - 3 Sport - 3 News

So my request would be to be humble at all times and show some humility.. It doesnt make you smaller.. but Bigger!! The bigger cc guy which you actually are!

Sorry thread owner for hijacking the thread. My main purpose to read all whats written in the thread is to get the mileage figures of the version 2.0. If you have done some tests, do share the figures.

                    Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0

This wasn't about a guy with bigger displacement humiliating owners with lower displacement. Clearly it was about how Yamaha fails to impress the enthusiasts with the new FZ 2.0. How much they extract out of this 150cc engine, How they focus on drivability in city, and simplistic handling than giving an adequately powered street fighter that appeals to a greater number of people.. along with the pricing kept near 1 lac. It's clear that Yamaha wasn't brave enough to try this and come up with a modern FZ that matches the current power standards set by leading bikes, be it Duke, NS or R15.
I can never go into R15 thread and say it's under powered because we know it's got a masterpiece of an engine that actually feels good even to others with bigger displacement bikes and more power. so yes, I have to say that your post is incorrect and unnecessary.
No more posts from my end.

I think there are many people who don't like this new version. But being an ownership thread i dont think it needs to be criticised and insulted. C'mon guys this is my first own bike, i dont want to listen bad about it and about the mileage...i recorded a mileage of 39kmph and still 2weeks remain for the first service. I suppose this figure will rise. and about the fuel indicator, yup its not accurate even now, i suppose the bike needs to be turned on with killswitch off to get a good reading...this is just an opinion as per the experience so far.

I tried searching for the site where I had read about it but sadly could find the exact article. It was written under the heading "5 things you should know about the new FZ". I'm not able to exactly recall it.
Anyways, here is an article by 'motorbeam' which, more or less, states the same thing. It is mentioned that FI system needs cleaning every 6000kms and its expensive. Also, I remember someone in team-bhp writing about the same issue. Now dont ask me his name.

I want to know from the owners if were they told about this or is it mentioned anywhere in the manual that FI cleaning is needed every 6000kms.

If i am not wrong then this engine can be tuned via computer to increase power by changing fuel-air ratio??

How are the tires? Probably the FI system needs idle adjustment like in R15. Nothing like cleaning, also a lot of manuals suggest cleaning carbs after like 5k kms, but do you really do it or do you really follow it?

How are the tires? Are they puncture resistant like Yamaha claims.
                              I am back!
