Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I bought my bike from Vinayak Yamaha, Domlur.
Liberty Videocon was the only insurance the showroom provided. Almost all Yamaha showrooms I checked with offered the same. So I just went with it for hassle-free delivery.

At the showrooms I asked , Pacer Yamaha(Hebbal) and Perfect Riders(Shivanand Circle) also offered the same. I'm also leaning towards taking it for convenience. If you don't mind me asking, what accessories did you get and how much did it cost ? I'll be booking my bike on Saturday.Originally posted by shravanad View PostI bought my bike from Vinayak Yamaha, Domlur.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I just went for crash guard (1300), basic number plate (150) and extended warranty (777). The showroom did not offer discount on anything. I got a blank number plate and the showroom guys did not bother to give it with number stuck on it.Originally posted by Stormbringer View PostAt the showrooms I asked , Pacer Yamaha(Hebbal) and Perfect Riders(Shivanand Circle) also offered the same. I did not go for waxing as I read somewhere on this forum that waxing a new bike is of no use as it is already done. May be after sometime I'll go for lacquer coating.
The seat covers that were stitched appeared loose. I felt the seat was good enough and I park mostly in closed areas, so didn't opt for seat cover. Also I hate to pay for the seat cover and be a brand ambassador of showrooms. I've heard one can get a good quality leather cover stitched in Russell Market area.
The showroom did not have leg rest for the saree guard. Let me know if you find it somewhere.
Im in two minds about adding indicator buzzer - I hate the sound but without it I might forget to turn it off.

Thanks for the Info. I assume IND plates are not mandatory. I will try to bargain for discounts. No loss in trying.Originally posted by shravanad View PostI just went for crash guard (1300), basic number plate (150) and extended warranty (777). The showroom did not offer discount on anything. I may get the seat covers from the showroom as it's dusty where I live. If quality is bad will skip it. And I too hate the free advertising on seat covers. I'll let you know about the leg rest for the saree guard.I need it too.
I personally hate the indicator buzzer. Streets of Bangalore are already too loud for my liking.
P.S: Did you had to wait for the Dual disc variant ? Pacer Yamaha said there is a 2 month waiting period because of the launch of the new R15 V3 and Yamaha scaled back the production of FZ dual disc. They now say I would have got the bike by now if I had booked. While Perfect Riders said no such long waiting period.

I think it is a sales tactics to make you book/buy immediately. When I had gone for enquiry, Panache Indiranagar and Anurag Basavanagudi had one on display (1st week of March).Originally posted by Stormbringer View PostThanks for the Info. I had a 10 day waiting period at Vinayak Domlur. I had booked on 7th Mar and 9 bikes reached the showroom on 16th.
I think Perfect Rider Lal Bagh Road has some bikes. They were calling me every morning even after I told them I had booked elsewhere. So I had to block their number.

Yes definitely a sales tactic. I will prefer booking my bike from Perfect Riders.Originally posted by shravanad View PostI think it is a sales tactics to make you book/buy immediately. When I had gone for enquiry, Panache Indiranagar and Anurag Basavanagudi had one on display (1st week of March).

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
There is no link between your sprocket and FI. Sprocket drives the rear wheel whereas FI injects fuel into the engine so there is nothing to worry about.Originally posted by gowtham7694 View PostHelp... I have installed 40t chain sprocket in my bike( version 1 chain sprocket) . Changed from a local mechanic( had a medical problem and was not able to go to svc which is 23 kms from my home). Will it cause any problem to the engine or fuel injection system?

Congrats for your new bike. Do a proper break in and keep posting about your experiences.Originally posted by shravanad View PostHello XBHPians,
Today I bought my first bike FSZ FI V2, the Dual Disc variant.
I had practically zero experience riding a bike before (just about 200m, a couple of years ago). My father was a scooter guy (girnar, chetak - 2 & 4 stroke, and activa). But my car riding knowledge and youtube videos on 'how to ride a motorcyle' helped me drive her home safely on a Monday afternoon in Bengaluru. I had asked earlier the dealer to deploy somebody to drop the vehicle home. But after taking the bike around, I felt I could handle her. Got a full tank. Rode slow and cautious, mostly left lane,... I made the first 17km from the showroom to my home.
And it was an experience, a beautiful one. Driving and gear shifts were smooth. Vehicle felt light. She took the potholes of Bengaluru very well. After riding about 10km, I could feel a certain confidence riding the bike. It was very different from riding a scooter. I was tensed, but felt at ease.
After a few initial hiccups, the gears were falling in place - thanks to the Youtube Vloggers who explained this while doing their bike reviews. The downshifting and the sudden hike in rpm on consol was something new.
I am having trouble understanding gear shifting. In car, I change as per the vibrations (Alto 800) and roughly follow 10-20 - 2nd gear, 20-30 - 3rd gear, 30-40 - 4th gear, 40+ - 5th gear. On FZ, I'm shifting up at 3000- 4000 rpm when the engine is revving. When is it apt to shift down? As soon as I get hold of uphill and gearshifting, I'll be hitting the roads for office commute.
Things I wish this bike had: 1) Separate direction indicators displaying which side is actually on. 2) Closed pillion grab rail which could double up as helmet lock. 3) Gear indicator.
Nothing great to say about showrooms. I had visited 5 Yamaha, 2 Honda, 2 Suzuki and a Bajaj Showroom. After I had decided on FZ, I chose the one which had many reviews (implying it sells many bikes) and not many bad reviews. None of them sold me the bike, I just bought it from one of them. Everyone just want you to book the vehicle instantly, pay immediately and get it delivered whenever you want it. 3 pages related to PDI from was torn from the Service & Warranty Handbook even before I could read it. When asked, I was told that it was for filing! The mechanic who came during delivery had some words of advice.
Buying the bike was otherwise a great learning experience. XBHP & youtube reviews (Sawant Life, Rachamalla, Faizal Khan, Dino, Bigbang biker) helped me zero in on this bike. I should make a special mention of PDI thread. Look forward to continued association with the forum.
Ride safe.

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Its been 4th month after my new purchase odo reading 2800km got a puncture due to a 4-5 cm long nail penetrated into my rear tyre. Does these mrf tyres come with any warranty? Also can anybody suggest a good puncture repair kit. Luckily a puncture wala was a known guy so it got fixed in 50rs. But would be better if I have a kit for diy purpose

None of the tyre manufacturers will give you warrenty coverage for wears and tear and puncher. If they give start give warrenty for tyre company will run in massive loss[emoji12] [emoji12] [emoji12]Originally posted by djmacpro View PostIts been 4th month after my new purchase odo reading 2800km got a puncture due to a 4-5 cm long nail penetrated into my rear tyre. No tyre manufacturer gives any warranty on physical damage like puncture or wear and tear. But if you get some defects like tyre bulging you will get warranty.Originally posted by djmacpro View PostIts been 4th month after my new purchase odo reading 2800km got a puncture due to a 4-5 cm long nail penetrated into my rear tyre. They will measure the grooves and calculate the tyre depreciation, you will have to pay a small amount for the tyre depreciation.
I had a bulge on my rear tyre side wall which I noticed 1.5years later after purchasing the bike, luckily I got a replacement and did not had to pay for anything except the fitting charges.
Try to opt for mushroom puncture as it is much durable and safer. But the con is to do a mushroom puncture you will have to remove the rear tyre and do it and you will not find places easily where mushroom puncture is done.
I recently did a mushroom puncture on my rear tyre from MRF showroom , they charged me INR 100. They did the job so well that there is no mark of the puncture repair it looks like the tyre had never got any punctures before.
