Reading the posts I feel that getting good gear would be a must. Can you suggest me what are the most desirable gears and what is good to have. As of now I don't intend to do long trips - just casual ride in and around Ahmedabad, atleast till summers and springs are over.

Being new to the biking world - quiet a few questions come to my mind:
- Go for best in class halmet (with bluetooth, camera etc.) or a descent built?
- Single piece or seprate jacket + pants
- Leather or otherwise
- Normal high heal shoes or riding shoes
- Side bags - hard or soft
- Can hard saddle case be permanently fixed or should be fixed only on tour
- Gloves - ofcoarse a good one
- If I don't intend to achive high speeds - should i buy wind shield
- Crash guards - do they really protect are are value for money (say $100)
- Gear indicator - is it really needed once you are use to the bike

If anyone has spare gears/accesories I would be keen to know.

Next month I would be visiting Dubai and would have time to purchase. Would Dubai be a good option?

- Single piece or seprate jacket + pants - For general usage Separate Jacket + Pant is good (leather is always good)
- Leather or otherwise
- Normal high heal shoes or riding shoes - High ankleShoes
- Side bags - hard or soft - As per your comfort
- Can hard saddle case be permanently fixed or should be fixed only on tour -
- Gloves - ofcoarse a good one - "alpinestars" (Can visit PlanetDSG website).
- If I don't intend to achive high speeds - should i buy wind shield - Wind Shield is personal choice. Ride for some time & decide if you need it?
- Crash guards - do they really protect are are value for money (say $100) - You should install good quality crash guard.
- Gear indicator - is it really needed once you are use to the bike - Not needed (IMO).

Riding gear should be the best available in the market but then it depends on your budget. I will just suggest according to me but then this is minimum.

Helmet - hjc, agv. MT Has helmets which are very good on paper like the costliest on in their range costs 12.5k and they claim 5 sharp rating.

Jacket/suit - if you plan on going to track then a full leather suit with ventilation is advisable as they don't allow anything else. You can check tbg for suits and if you can get two piece suit though they are costlier than one piece.
If you are not going to go to track then pick up cordura or mesh jacket. There are many like Spartan, cramster etc

Gloves - pick up full gauntlet though don't get leather if you not planning track and for heat.

Boots - for daily riding any boots will do else you can go for riding boots like speed from Spartan. They start from 8k.

Windshield - doesn't help as far as I know.

Crash guards - you can check moto adda if on budget or can get puig, swmototech etc

Saddle bags - if you don't have a pillion check dirtsack or viaterra. Viaterra has many options though I personally use a claw 2 tailbag as I go solo.

Gear indicators are not required as per me.

One question still remains that should I buy it from India (if warranty is important) or from Dubai (which I am visiting next month.

Seems like Kawasaki has increased the charges for servicing.
My first service of er6n costed Rs. 6447 as under:
Oil 2.2 lts @ 837 = 1841
Filter Rs. 634
Labour Charges Rs. 4002

Manual says that oil change would be 1.8 lts
Labour charges seems to be doubled form 2k to 4k

going the benelli way i guess. dunno why they are shooting themselves in the foot. they hardly have any service centres anymore and niw they wanna fleece customers by doubling service costs..

Friend , go to IDBI ,their rate of interest is the lowest ( I'm for z800 using the same bank). We did the homework and zeroed in IDBI - it's the lowest ever rate of interest ( diminishing balance) the only issue would be some of the staff may not know their bank does financing for two wheelers . Not interested in fitting an aftermarket windscreen? I went for one, and there is a drastic reduction in windblast afterwards....

Yes and also in your bike's case, I am not sure whether it can be fitted with all those auxillary lights..

Thats sad ... Yes i can see ... It was already a close fit. I might have to skip on the windshield. ....Coz I just came back from a bike ride to HORSLEY hills and back (total 300kms) from Whitefield. Started @10pm and reached home @3am. Was a real pleasure to ride at night with these lights. No dark spots.

The two Hella De unit consumes 55w each? That's a lot of power requirement..
