I sold my Discover 2011 model disc before buying 200NS. But the dealer asked for a funny price of 16-17K. Now isn't that silly?. Why?, for an 18K KMs ran, 65+ mileage returning bike in a good condition sells for just 17K, which I bought some 2.5 years back for 58K?. The answer he said was "Your Discover model now does not exist...!!! Now Was that my fault?. The KTM-Bajaj dealer said even if I bought a duke 200 and came back to sell in few months, he would only buy it ~1Lac, because Bajaj always has poor resale value as compared to Honda or Hero (Because of mediocre quality and degradation of parts over year). Well, I accept the quality perspective and their life time, but still the exchange price was very less and looked funny to me. I live in Chennai. Searched through many OLX post, but shocked to see that many guys have put the prices as high as 35-40K for the same model, but I could see the same 2-3 years old FZ(earlier version) sells for the same. Called up some owners and asked about the price, then they too revealed that through dealer it sells only <20K any day.

I got exhausted in threatening them saying I would buy from some other dealer as they are quoting less price, but surprisingly all 4 dealers (major) didn't even bother that.

Now understand this, through dealer, he calls up for another buyer who regularly buys from dealer the second hand bikes and quotes the price. Now to sum up the dealers profit + buyer profit(broker/agent) they usually quote very less. Now the best place to avoid this is sell through OLX\Quikr. I have sold many items through that.
    Some tips
    1. Put a reasonable price, say 30-36K (depending on your bike condition) and say negotiable. Otherwise none will even bother to contact you
    2. Add a detail info about your bike, year, date, features, number service done, last service time, bills that you have, etc
    3. Give more pictures (Clean the bike before taking pictures)
    4. Mention, that you would water wash the bike once before giving, and also you'll allow for test rides

Now another advantage through selling this portal is, you can sell the bike thereby transferring the registration and insurance through a local vehicle license agent easilly. It might cost around 400-500 only. It takes just few minutes to give them both of your details and the buyer can get the RC book the next day. This is good rather than giving it to some dealer who can possibly misuse, you never know.

Since your model is 2013, I hope it can surely sell for 28-30k through dealer and through OLX means add extra 3-5K.
    I sold mine for 24.5K

I took delivery of my yellow RS200 ABS yesterday from Amba Bajaj Bangalore.

Took it out on a short 50km ride on the highway straight from the showroom. Did not test the acceleration much as it is a brand new engine.
Was gentle with the throttle, but did not adhere to the 50 km/hr limit the service guys were preaching. What I liked best was the stability and the handling.
I also feel the engine is pretty smooth out of the box.

The only thing I hated was that the fairing started buzzing on day1. Can it be tightened?

They are over charging for consumables. Ask them to give to break up of the same.
You can always tell them not to put any additives.

I sold my 3 year old platina 45 k on odo for rs 24000 on olx.. But in the very same city where i live .. And beware of cheaters and thieves... Coz i have read in xbhp someone's duke 390 stolen in the name of test drive. Be careful on olx. Don't go to meet buyers personally call them at ur place, be with friends etc...

for Rs.180 you get a entire bottle of chain spray and they charge you Rs.280 ? went to Hosur Road Bajaj for my first service and they charged me Rs.640. Mine is now ready for second service.

Haven't managed to find one yet. Don't think any vendors have started making frame sliders

I went and talked (fought) with the SVC guys about charging me so much (1400+ tax) and demanded a breakup of that. Finally they settled with 831Rs.
                          Felt good.

After seeing the new demon black i think ill stick with The red. Somehow the black just looks a bit bland but for those who don't like the abundant cuts and edges of the rs200, the black mask all that much better than the other colors.
I feel black would have looked better on a traditional fully faired bike.

Anyways my bike is already at the dealer stock yard but yet to be allotted due to the the dealership being closed for eid so more or less ill be getting my first bike somewhere mid next week, cant contain my happiness.

                            Regards.

Now you know they are cheaters. Next time please dont give the bike with them. Even I had bad experience with them when I used to stay in BSK locality.
