Hey guys, now there are 100+ pages to go through for the review of this bike here so I wonder if anyone could tell me in short about this bike, I'm mainly concerned with the cons/ problems faced (in city traffic/highways) if any, since there users owning this bike for months now it could really help, thank you

Hi.. I bought my RS 200 ABS 3 months back..Below is just my opinion on my bike..
I wanted a bike with acceleration just like duke 200 but not naked. I am married so cant think of RC and its pillion seat. Hence i was like "waiting for ever" to get a perfect bike for me( With good acceleration and practical pillion seat ).
Then Bajaj came with this bike Of course RS 200 is not perfect still it didnt disappoint me.
I was denied for test ride it before booking. So i took AS 200 for test drive. After riding it i felt engine is refined than NS 200. so i had a hope that RS 200 should be better than AS 200.
Booked RS 200 with the blind hope on BAJAJ and KTM engine.
Below are the stuffs that i felt disappointed when i got the bike,
    1. You dont feel like sitting on sport bike as the handle bar position is placed right between a sport and commuter bike.
    2. Acceleration sucked ( 0 to 80 )
    3. Vibration at foot pegs between 3.5 k RPM 4.5 K RPM.

I followed the DRIVE IN period religiously for first 800 km. Later i checked the potential of my bike by hitting high RPM but not above 7 k. Felt good that i went for this bike
After first service ( 500 km ) vibration at foot pegs came down a bit. after 1800 km i almost dont feel it.
Riding position was compromised in this bike to give us a better posture for city commuting/touring. Because i never felt pain in my wrist even riding in heavy trafic when compared to CBR and R15.
Acceleration is not very bad like i thought. Bike was swift when i took it to high RPM at low gears.

Below are the things that still annoys me a bit.
    1. Thud sound from front suspension
    2. Mild squealing sound from front disc while parking.
    3. Rear View mirror is not practical as i could just see my elbow and shouler. No matter how i position it.
    4. Stickering quality seems to be low.

I learned to accustom few things to over come the short comings of my bike, like tucking in a bit if i wanted to feel like riding a sport bike

Dont worry about alloy wheel issue. i hard braked at 103 Km/hr and alloys are intact.

Felt like a celebrity as some one will always come and talk to you about your bike.

This bike changed my whole perspective of bike riding. I was kind of speed freak and never knew anything about safety gears other than helmet. ( Damn i thought vega and studds are the only branded helmets ). i bought a riding jacket, high anke shoe, good helmet now.
I am married and have a 2 year old kid. we go for short rides in this bike comfortably. I can certainly say this is not possible in any other full faired > 200 cc bike those are available now.
Before RS i felt riding at high speed was fun. but now riding itself is fun. Always looking for corners

Go for ABS Version. Check the review of the SVC and have a rapport with RS mechanic. In my SVC only one guy works on RS and he is very polite and patient enough to explain me things.

I own an AS but i like the RS too.both share the same tjings except for AS is carb.
Yes the bike is very practical unlike Duke.Duke has a neck throbbing acceleration that frankly speaking I don't like.I like bikes with slow speed and gradual pickup.speed kills for sure but hard acceleration even makes it easier.TS also has a good amount of weight so it does take some time to pick up speed.but the weight really works on its advantage as the stability of the bike is rock solid.this bike is probably the benchmark for straight driving as its so good at it.
Plus the projector lamps.oh man I am a sucker for it [emoji4]

        Bad:
Bike is heavy(esp if you come from 125 segment), suffers slightly but you won't notice.

        Good:
Bike has FI and you can expect it to handle many complicated environments
Full-Fairing for styling (some may like it, some may not)

Rest all the same as AS200. Apart from these, vibration or noise problems are unpredictable which can happen to any bike. So don't worry about RS, it'll be almost perfect, considering it as a single engine.

RS has FI and fairing which accounts for the added cost, ABS is single channel. safety is like 50% and not COMPLETE.

BUT, if you still want the best value for money product, then you can buy AS200, which costs very less and still offers exactly the same level of performance and fun.

Finally, it's your call. I'd advice you to spend wisely and invest money on riding gears and good helmet rather than opting for ABS or adding extra features for bike. If you can afford both, then it's well and good.

        Best hunting.

I would like to strongly disagree here. Single channel ABS is NOT just 50% safe. I would certainly agree if you say it is not as good as double channel ABS but making a sweeping statement like that is not correct and can be termed as misleading.

Even a single channel ABS is much better than no ABS.

Please spend that extra 12 k and opt for ABS!!! I am not saying that you should not invest in good gear, you should! But why choose between the two? Atleast my life is too precious to make such a choice. When my life is at stake, I do not make compromise, atleast on amounts like 10-12 k.

@jbm_guy I am extremely sorry if my words come out to be harsh, but I am talking my heart out here.....

My advice to potential buyers is to wait for 1 month if on tight budget. Save enough money and go for good gear AND ABS! To substantiate my rant, I would like the potential buyer to please watch the below video and then make an informed decision.

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

Alright bro. You are right. I too understand that a single channel ABS is much better than not having ABS at all. At the same time, I'm stressing the fact that compromising money for this feature versus riding gears is not also not justifiable. The best thing for safety is to have a good riding gears and good branded helmets unfortunately which many don't even think about it. The tendency grows like, I have ABS equipped and I'm safe(Does not even bother about buying riding gears). This is the mentality usually people get(Eg, my colleague in D390). Now that is sick. When we get bigger displacement bikes, we get more responsibilities. Anyway from 2018 onward all bikes above 125cc should have ABS equipped (as per Indian gov law), which is a welcoming move.

If one can invest money for both, then that's the best thing to do.

Sorry if my post has mislead anyone.

                Hello again!

I have finally booked a RS 200 ABS (Yellow). Expecting delivery of the bike around 10 October.

For some reason the owner/manager thinks ABS is a waste of money and was advising my dad to get me the Non ABS version. Thank god my dad didn't listen to him! He was hell bent on showing me the cons of the ABS (higher maintenance, not that much VFM etc.) rather than encouraging me to go for it. Strange.

He says there are currently 3 more colors in the pipeline for the RS 200. Namely Green, Silver/Black and White/Blue which are to be launched before 2016. Take this with a grain of salt though as nothing is confirmed.

Also one other thing, he says he can't guarantee my bike will come with the MRF tires, but he said he will change them if it comes equipped with TVS ones (I hope he meant free of cost).

Anyway thanks guys for all the input you gave me over the last week or so, I appreciate it a lot.

Also what do I look out for when the bike arrives other than a few basic checks?

                Thanks again! [emoji4]

                    Hi guys,

Want to check, how's the ride quality of this bike? Call me spoiled brat, but I have been rendered useless by owning an Inazuma 250 and anything less than that, looks useless as well.
However, I would love to know how this bike tackles potholes, how's the ride quality (Is it like erstwhile pulsars, the rock hard ones or Bajaj listened to some of the words uttered)
A detail version would do good.
And how's the rear seat for long rides, in terms of comfort for a pillion?

                    Thx

On road in Madras for non-ABS is 1.38 and ABS is 1.51. Silently they have increased. Another worst thing is RC200 now proudly sells for 1.92 Lacs, what . which was previously sold for 1.88 lacs, what on earth?. I can't only imagine the same on Bglore, a city asking money for everything.

You ride what, Inazuma 250?. You shouldn't be even asking this . Jokes apart, Modern Pulsar is still rock hard ones on suspension to enable good handling, so ride quality is not as good as say Unicorn 160. But that's good.

The bike is much better in handling as compared to the previous versions but still not comparable to Inazuma. Very frankly, I doubt you will like the ride quality after riding the Zuma due to the lack of engine smoothness as compared to Zuma. But where this bike beats Zuma is VFM, superior brakes (thanks to ABS!) and to some, looks.

Rear seat is again not very comfortable. Better then RC200, R15 but worse as compared to CBR (as per my wife )
