Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Just a small suggestion.
Don't use double sided tape instead, use this
solutions.3mindia.co.in/wps/portal/3M/en_IN/3M_Automotive/OEMs/Product_Center/~/Automotive-OEM-Components/?N=4607 3294482998&rt=rud
Much effective and more versatile, multiple applications and much durable.
Safe Riding!

As you said double tape and rubber beeding can do wonders.
On my rs200, on first service the whole fairing and dashboard was removed and they did double tape and rubber beeding job, there was no vibes or any buzz from anywhere on the fairing and console after that.
Cheers.

Hey G.Anekar,Originally posted by g.anekar032 View PostHi all,
This is my first post.
Quick recap:
I bought my AS200 in Aug 2015, requested for a bike with stock MRF tyre and I got it easily here in Bangalore. I had owned a Desert storm for 3.5 years previous, I got bored of it and its expenses and traded in for Pulsar with minimal additional expenses. I had tried to break in the new engine of my old bullet as per manufacturer recommended easy breakin (thats common wisdom) however that did not help in any way in developing a trouble free engine for me.
When I bought my AS200 I had decided to follow this controversial breakin in method: Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power
On top of that I did some things extra considering Indian conditions, Drained the engine oil which was originally filled by Bajaj at 50km on ODO and replaced with a cheap run of the mill mineral oil whilst continuing to follow the advise from above website.
Life of AS200:
Lives in Bangalore, chills all week in home under shaded parking lot, Runs like a crusie missile 2 days in a week.
It saw Jagannath Puri, Thiruchi, Kasaragod, Sirsi + innumerous trips to and from Mangalore.
run 18750km in 19 months
Drinks petrol at the rate of 37kmpl whilst running at 100kmph
Has got an additional light on crash guard, a fork stabilizer, adjustable hand levers, saddle bags,
Has mostly liked to slip through Motul 5100 , but this time trying 7100 for the first time.
Rear tyre changed to MRF 130/70 revs s recently,
Had vibes between 4k to 5k rpms a year back, but later small pieces of sponge added, problem solved!
Usually cruises at 95-105kmph and still reserves torque to over take an occasional skoda or ford.
Looking forward to interact with you all guys
Welcome to the hood brother !
We all get to learn from each other's experiences here and we are glad that you shared yours with us.
Kindly help me understand the front fork stabilizers, its importance and how it works and where can I buy them if they worth it.
I am using 5100 too but I am gonna try Repsol in the coming days. Keep sharing your inputs brother.
Ride Safe !

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
The Michelins are great for touring, they're sport touring tyres. They don't have the best grip, they're dual compound tyres.Originally posted by g.anekar032 View PostI'm planning michelin for front hoping for best braking experience.
Selected revz since it's a radial. Masetter is expected to have small centre patch so not suitable for routing. Best grip is not necessarily for rear tyre during touring so ruled out Michelin for rear.Last edited by Shashank K R; 03-18-2017, 11:21 PM.

Glad to hear that your bike is running good. I had purchased the AS200 around the same time that you did, i.e. Aug 2015. I'm from Pune, after hunting a few dealerships for an AS200 shod with MRF tyres, found 1 and purchased it on spot. My bike has run around 15000 kms, both in congested traffic and open highways.
I was wondering what was the ODO reading when you felt the need to change your bike's tyres? My tyres edges are giving up on corners, and the bike wiggles mid-corner. How are the Revz S compared to Zapper S on our bike? I was hoping I would either opt for Pilot Street radials or stay on stock MRF tyres.

It's been 3 weeks now that I have seen anyone posting anything in this thread. Why has everyone gone silent?
Well, a few stuff for me to share with you all. Got new tyres for my ride, the MRF FX1 100/80 up front and the Michelin Street Radial for rear again 130/70.
I should be awarded for using the Euroslips for 12k before switching and boy did I see the transition. The ride is smooth, confident, grippy and awesome handling.
Had some issues with top speed which I think has been resolved though I never had the chance to open the throttle yet after the rectification.
Had the seat made with high density foam and sturdy material for both Rider's and Pillion's and it is a relief now for long rides.
I am planning a headlight job, I have been introduced with an automobile light expert Devraj of DVJ Auto Tech A.K.A. "The Light Doctor". I have seen his work on AS200 and a friend's also a member of Xbhp NS, who has recently got his lights worked up. He did the rewinding and wiring with all product and what a result I must say. Gonna cost me near 8k but by what saw it is worth it. I am at 12400 kms on ODO and I have no complaints about the ride. Posting some pictures of my new tyres. Do post updates about your ride guys, it is nice to read about everyone's ride.
Front MRF FX 1 100/80
Rear Michelin Pilot Street 130/70
You mentioned about doing your bike's seats and if am not mistaken you are from Bangalore too,is it not? Can you please tell me the shop name and address . for a long time I am searching someone but did not find anybody who can do it properly..

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I agree, the motorcycle is very inconvenient to service. Even simple tasks or just a pre ride check is also difficult at times. No wonder service centre technicians don't do their jobs right.Originally posted by Anubhav M View PostWill be getting both plugs and tappets checked in coming service as they have not been checked even once till now. The two secondary plugs were checked but not the main plug as its not accessible without removing the fuel tank. This bike is the least serviceable bike I have seen in terms of convenience. And odo errors occur if stock size is replaced only for front tyre I guess. I really wanted to upsize the rear but am scared I might loose on acceleration although a little gain in top speed. People from ns forum have mixed reviews about rear tyre upsize to 140/70. Really confused which way to go.
Regarding upsizing, that's a confused topic and i have even come across AS riders who have shifted back to stock size after upsizing so, I did not experiment. Although most NS owners do upsize but again AS ergonomics are different than NS.

About engine oil, I have been using 5100 since around 5800 kms and I am fine with it. Maybe you shud have your spark plugs and valve clearance checked.
