The bike is no doubt a sheer beast, but does it give you confident breaking without ABS, Seriously I have ridden the duke 390 and ABS can be felt in it, without ABS I can't ride it with confidence, specially in India u don't know what will come next while riding, sudden brakes are applied in certain situations, and having a beast like this I don't know if I could ride if confidently in pune
So guys please let me know that you need the urge of having an ABS on the bike or it has enough breaking efficiency to stop on time with control! Thank you
Let me be very frank here. I just had the vehicle for hardly 15 mins...I did some serious hard braking decelerating from 100 to 20 while taking a turn, I must say, I was damn impressed with the brakes..God forbid, didnt have the situation where people jump from nowhere and in no situation i was under panic braking.

But, ABS is an aided tool to keep you going, but IMO, not the most necesary ones. I am planning to upgrade to Brembo once I receive my bike..So I will be getting even more bite from the braking.

ABS isn't ultra essential but its good to have.. no harm having defense against the Indian roads..

about ABS, coming from 2 years of extensive track riding experience at bic, as well as track equivalent open empty delhi road in early morning.. i can clearly say that ABS is most effective in mid range speeds and while in city conditions where anything can pop out from any where and it saves you from slipping and crash..secondly its really helpful for those who are entering into technical manouvering and high speed cornering..but only for starters.. after you get the technique, you'd actually want to loose the abs as it extends your breaking distance resulting in higher panic in case of long braking. you'd wish the bike to stop but it will continue to run straight unless you are very well skilled in counter steering the bike even while braking. I learnt this while track riding and how I speeded for a corner and then wish the bike to stop but it goes straight..
So all it takes is getting used to the breaking power of out bikes and a very relaxed mind while riding so that you dont endup locking the wheels. I know how much I miss ABS from my duke as it has saved me a lot of times..although it could also be a reason that duke rear brakes tend to lockup too early hence we get used to the abs feeling.
I had a hard time while hard braking on the test ride 600i. But now I'm aware and so will take some time to adapt to its braking.
hope this encourages abs dependent people like me .. hehe.

Meanwhile I was waiting at the showroom, the test drive bike was fitted with IXIL, took it for a spin today in peak traffic. Man o Man, I was a celebrity indeed. People in cars began to roll down their window just to hear the exhaust note and 2 guys in a splendor came chasing me and asked me the vehicle make and price, people sitting inside the bus were literally staring at the bike and slightest of glimple fell on me too...

felt so freaking good to be admired.
Same feeling I had in the Delhi while TR. After that TR I faced sleepless nights for almost a week. Now I know the sheer pain of upcoming owners here and waiting for that pain for myself also to be come soon

I don't see it a VFM from any angel. After 600i, Z800 is 2nd VFM product according to many.
