Guys does anyone know when was the world launch of the 600i. It came to India in March 2015, but when was the model actually launched for commercial sale in the world?

It was launched in 2014 mate. What we have are the 2015 variants, which evidently were launched first in India, followed by the world. I guess this shows how seriously Benelli is taking the Indian market.

Exactly...Yesterday when i read the cross country benelli 600i trip ka article i saw his Benelli without the bikini fairing i thought it was a mod to get rid of unnecessary bulk for the ride.
With every passing day im getting eager for September to come...Id be booking mine then.

so far 300kms covered.. city and highway. I can only say this bike is a keeper. it just runs effortlessly and one can actually enjoy the pure fun on motorcycling. or i can say one can enjoy the character of an inline 4 on this bike without being too much concerned or engaged in handling the bike.
ppl complain about the lag or sloppy power delivery.. but to me it feels like its the best thing they did so that one can be stressfree while riding and enjoying a superbike and whenever you need the thrill..its waiting right after 7k rpm.
most importantly the sound.. ohhh... the sound just speaks to you.. i am loving the stock sound more and more.. i feel so lucky that somehow this bikr fullfiled my dream of riding the R6..the exhaust note is just so damn rich !!! the growl !!!
i hardly look at who is looking at me.. i am so into the bike while riding and this all could be possible only due to the smooth linear acceleration of this bike.. its not scary.. it might lack a punch for few riders but this is altogether a different kind of setup and those who understand it can enjoy it. no body wants to be a rocket all the time specially while riding in a city.
the gearing is super smooth.. I'm extremly happy with the gearing.. the initial 2 gears are a bit short though in my opinion but it could also be that i am in runnin in period so have to change gears anyhow near 5-6k rpm. will know more post break-in.
All in all I'm falling in love with this bike more and more everytime I take it out.

When you say short gearing, does it mean at slow speeds, say at slow corners and at every road humps, you have to come down to 2nd gear or can it be managed in 3rd itself, cause my CBR refuses to pull at low speeds in 3rd gear and have to shift down to 2nd

Mate short gearing is when you habe to change your gear quickly to the one above.....!
So in city frequently u have to change gears ..!
Similar situation as your CBR250...ive felt the same on d CBR.

yes true.. short gearing means you feel the need of shifting to 2nd and 3rd quickly while accelerating.. but that may be the case that i am in running in phase so i cant go beyond 5-6k rpm range.. so anyhow i have to change gears.. i'll know more once i get over with this tormenting break in.
