Since these guys had tie-up with HDFC and thought the process would be a stroll-in-the-park...doesnt seems like so now. If this application doesnt move forward in the next 1 week or so, Then I will have to cancel this and look for other options. It is just going to delay the bike delivery

Indeed I am desperately waiting to get back home and take it out for a spin.
about riding the bike from workshop to showroom, Since I have already faced so much bullcrap from the dealer, they offered me this just to keep me calm and add that extra special feeling to the whole experience, I do appreciate them for this, they said that they would like me to be the very first person riding it. It read 9 km on the odo but thats ofcourse thats obvious. So I had the chance of riding it all the way to showroom. Btw, they also held a decent ceremony with cake and refreshments for all of my friends who accompanied.
I also want to remove that sick number plate. but waiting for my registration number to arrive first.

Qeustions :

--> WAS THE CHAIN LUBED AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY ?? Mine was dry, so I'll be lubing it up on my own.

- what fuel are you guys usually putting in. Anyone here using regular fuel ?? If yes, please share if there are any hiccups ??

- How is everyone doing the engine break-in ??

- did anyone opt for the 3m coating or anything similar??
I think you don't have to lube the chain for 300kms or so because the factory chain comes with white grease which helps the break - in of the chain

If thats the case then fine. But still I think its better to confirm with a dsk tech guy as they didnt explain me anything at all while delivery.

Just have a check by yourself....If it's greased you can find it easily.

yes you are right it does have the white grease on it,, Rode it for about 150 kms today, the grease can be seen now in action.
Will keep checking it for dryness and will lube after couple hundred kms then.

I'm going to do the usual break-in style, massaging the engine in between 5k-6k rpm, using tall gears from low speeds and let it slow on its own.
Will definitely share more pics and experiences,
I dont know of any other change apart from the clutch so far.

Thanks a lot mate, all these well wishes mean a lot to me. I havent even met many of you still I feel connected, thats bikerhood. I wish best experiences to all the fellow riders here.

BTW, those who already have the bike, has anyone face the FUEL OVERFLOW issue ??
Yesterday after delivery I went to top it up and got 97 filled till neck (means till the metal grill inside) Soon after which the petrol started leaking from a nozel on the left side which I couldnt noticed before I stopped somewhre for a bit, people told me about petrol leaking and I was shocked to see it. I panicked a bit because the petrol the falling straight on to the metal parts of body and luckily the bike was too hot !! otherwise I dont know what could have happened. I called up the dealership and they told me thats its very natural and it happens if we fill the tank till that metal grill inside. They said the bike throws away any extra fuel, but I was shocked to hear that as none on them told me this at the time of delivery, neither I was tought how to use the digital console, ofcourse I can learn it from the manual but still they are supposed to tell me about all these things prior I take the bike on road. I had to rush to get a bottle and then collect the fuel in it so that it doesnt falls on the hot metal anymore. After about half a litre of drain, it stopped. I'm not sure if the bike is supposed to do this when I only filled it up till the metal grill inside, I am assuming this should be a design flaw.

Anyone else who has faced the same please share !!!

Thanks
Hi Sanket,

The first time I filled fuel. The same thing happened to me as well. Then I understood that we are suppose to fill fuel only till the ring with holes that we see in the tank, once the fuel cap is opened. If you start filling it up to the cap, it would drain the excess amount. You dont need to put in 97 octane either, for the 600i just Speed, Power or V-Power from Shell is perfect. 97 is recommended for 899 and TNT R. Hope this helps.

Yes thats right..the manual also says so.. the octane rating should be 90 or above.

Any reason to fill in those special fuels with special prices and additives ? The manuals clearly suggest using fuel with no additives. I would suggest using SHELL normal or any other normal unadulterated fuel if the 90RON and above is recommended. Speed/VPower/ETC are fuels with additives that the bike can do without IMO.

The supposed cleansing agents might affect FI system in my opinion and make the engine run lean or rich.

Totally agree. Normal unleaded petrol across India is 91RON so even Shell may not be needed.

I just prefer shell because of the systems they follow. Rider out of the bike while filling. No cell phone usage in bunk. An always working inflator. And fuel is unadulterated without any doubt

Trusted IOC and BP pumps should be as good.

True about the ethics @Shell!

Not any I know. Actually I hardly know any of the Z owners except Shreeni0403 and djay99 . None have a Shoei
