Also recently there is news that Z800 would be assembled via CKD undercutting existing mrp by almost 1l. 7.2 on road for Z800 which already has ABS vs 6.4 on road for 600i ABS (assuming 30,40k price for ABS as per earlier news) would be interesting battle.
Yeah definitely sounds like a better deal, the price for Z800 is around 9 Lakhs on road here in Bangalore I think & if they slash another lakh then comes down to 8L vs 600i standard version which is 6.56 lakhs after the increase of 6000 bucks i guess --- so with abs I'm sure 7 Lakhs ----

Which is how much I think I can stretch my budget to if I'm buying in the next month, that being said Z800 is one MENTAL looking bike, mean as hell. 600i roars like hell.

Arrghghhh feel like pulling my hair out. Can it really be soo hard to decide on a bike I think ill end up deciding based on my budget. I also need to set aside some for upgrades.

Its not a Hoax.... they planning to get it via CKD route soon!!
That's wonderful news, I'm sure a lot of people will be happy about this news. Hopefully the cities get the bikes within the mentioned time -- So they already taking bookings for abs in Delhi is great which means it should arrive everywhere else before august this year -- fingers crossed.
I hope they don't back out on that for some weird reason.

The z800 is very very powerful, I'll put it on the same league as the fz09, it has a very sensitive throttle. The 600 is more friendly and easier to use in my opinion, with the addition of abs its gonna be a good product, if the price of the z drops, I think it can be a great value for money buy, I hope Honda learn their lesson on pricing, also Yamaha will have to consider the fz07 .

-- I also wanted a rad gaurd earlier but later decided to drop the plan. first, the fins are not that fragile and do take a beating. and not completely sure about this but the gaurds do come in the air flow and disturb a bit which could be a bit of an issue on longer rides.

              Hello there everybody,

Time has finally come for me to upgrade my current motorcycle to a faster and better machine. Now Benelli 600i IMO strikes as a real VFM product when you think about it. Sure you do have other options which some may feel are more refined bikes than the Benelli tnt bikes. I'm here to get peoples thoughts on the bike and of course the owners, please do give valuable insight on the bike.
I feel like my heart is set on this bike(TnT600i), hopefully and if all goes well I should be booking it in a couple of weeks. A bit about my bike usage pattern : Well, lets see...

-- 600i is definitely a decent buy and you wont regret your decision once you understand and get used to the character of this bike. I have ridden many sbks and quite familiar with the usual limitations of all the sbks specially in indian conditions. trust me, indian conditions is something really important while getting a sbk here. I'm sure you'll love the smooth and linear character of this bike and will get easily used to the way it handles bcz it does it beautifuly.
you'll love how it doesnt boils you in heat unlike other options available.

ATM I'm buying this for weekend rides, or weekday rides nothing in particular basically just to ride, see what the Italian has to offer on Indian conditions. And also to do with a little bit of city commuting.

-- u'll face no major issues while doing so. infact you'll be more comfortable that folks riding the tiresome super sports bikes. nothing against them, its just about the nature of different bikes and how to make the best out of them. Ppl do track riding on adv tourers and tour on super sport too , but its always better to use the correct machine for suitable purpose, which in 600i case will leave you with many options open. You can do occasional tracks on this bike, you can take it to long tours too, and its one of the most comfortable street sbks out there..

One of the major worries is the discussion about ABS on this bike - will DSK benelli offer retrofitting once the abs model is launched? I guess not.. Is it really needed?

-- retrofitting wont be available, as told by a technical from pune plant.
about if it is needed, well ot definitely is a better technology and technology always helps. on the other hand, rather that being upset abt lack of abs, i say its better to understand what exactly abs is for and how we can work on our braking technics and improve day by day. abs is a life saver as it doesnt lock the wheels under panic braking. If we dont have abs, its always better to practice braking more and more bcz its always better to work on skill that relying on technology. While abs does its job, it increases the stopping distance of bike quite a bit which is not very helpful in a lot of cases and must be understood well. These bikes are heavy and do take some time to come to halt, but at the same time the brakes are quite strong and once practiced well, you can avoid many adverse situations.
so decide if you are fine with the non-abs version or if you can wait for the abs one. I'm sure the abs version should have option of turning it off when required.

Can you buy aftermarket abs system for this bike? Brembos maybe[emoji14]
-- not always suggest bcz company fitted item is always recommended. plus it'll be quite expensive if available. also another question would be who will fit it right.

Customer & After sales service by DSK Benelli -- can You rely on them?

-- if u are in delhi, absolutely not. it sucks badly. any other city, i guess there have been no bad reports so far.

Headlight -- This for me I feel is one of the major drawbacks of this bike, okay its not bad looking --- but -- I mean c'mon the tnt300 headlight looks better. What about the light throw? Anybody done night riding on this beast yet? How was the experience?

-- yes the headlight is a big turn-off for most owners. i wish benelli had given something kickass like thr 899
Although an option of fitting 899 headlight on 600 is available at aliexpress, you can check it out. one of our friend has it and looks killer.
The headlight throw is not that great. I have done a lot of night rides. in city and hills. the low beam is more of less useless for me. the way I have resolved it is, I adjusted the high beam to quite low setting and use it mostly while night riding.

I hope I could answer your questions without boring much[emoji14]
              goodluck with your choice !
Indeed Mr. Lunatic Fringe that was a very informative reply. Appreciate your effort mate.

Yeah I think I remember seeing those headlights on Aliexpress. This thing costs around 12k with shipping.

So how long have you had your bike for? Also wanted to know if any1 has cracked a mileage of 20+ on this bike ? provided your on top gear & low revs.

Oh BTW here's another query I'd like to throw out there, Can you make the Z800 sound as sweet as the tnt600i with the available custom exhausts out there? Or does the TnT600i beat the Z800 in terms of roar no matter what exhausts you put on them??

Well I am getting around 13 kmpl in blr b2b traffic. I have never seen it touching 20. Sometimes I rip in empty roads, but that is very rare. So for every 500Rs, I get petrol of 7.69 lts (65Rs/ltr). So after touching 90 kms in the trip meter, the fuel bar starts blinking.

I would like to see other owners input

Well, on a long ride of about 400kms, I got ~23kmpl. Otherwise it's mostly around 20s if ridden sanely. If I'm continually doing 140-160kmph or more for the entire ride (say 100+kms), it does come down to about 16-17kmpl - this is the worst I've got.

PS: I hardly commute on the Benelli. In fact, I hardly commute! [emoji39]

So I guess we can all agree this bike's mileage depends on the way you ride it, average seems to be around 20 -25 km on highway and about 16 - 20 km in city riding. Fair enough for me. I think the Z800 has the same mileage more or less.
