I too tried very hard to find out about the launch of the ABS, but there is no definite information on it yet. If anything, all the dealers are very confident that it won't be untill the end of the year or maybe infact even get pushed to next year.

In my case, it is too long a wait and hence, decided to go in for the current non ABS variant. Will probably think about the retro kit, once it is launched.

I spoke to one of the benelli guys, he was like if abs is introduced it can be put on even for the existing owners not sure how true this is.

I really think dealers are just saying 'abs will be launched after year end' just to get you to not wait and just buy NOW. Because I went to a dealer and asked same question and his attitude was just so disappointed about the fact that I asked the abs question . . and or 'everybike will be retrofitted with abs , when launched' (but I wouldn't trust this unless officially stated in writing) . .
Being on two wheels is being liberated. The vastness one feels being under the open sky. The whole feeling. . . cant be described.

            True that.

i test rode the 600-i yesterday in delhi.
            loved it.

the ride was hardly 1 km but i liked the overall fit and finish and handling of the bike.

i am 5.6 \ athletic build and i didn't find her very intimidating.
i don't have much of big bike experience and usually ride 200 - 390cc class bikes

i was a bit nervous perched on the 600-i. my fears ranging from wheelspins - tyre locking - 200kg weight etc.
but once it started moving, i lost myself in the exhaust note.
and within seconds i completed the test ride.

i was hoping to get a tr for the 899 too but the showroom guys denied.

anyways, the traffic was light on that stretch of the road so couldn't comment on the heat.
i am asked them for a longer run..... may be at their benelli ride they will oblige.

i need to get hold of the n650 ride now ;p

            cheers

Guys, can anyone show me how to remove the 600i's front seat by making a video or pics. I tried to remove it, but it is not coming. Do I need to take out any screw, I don't think so.

I need to take the tool box out. But I am not able to take the seat out

                Putting your nightmares to rest-

With a 600i you won't be getting into any wheelspins. Tyre lock happens due to itiotic /panic breaking. If you are not comfortable / new to a segment of bike, one in a sane mindset will take time to get to know the bike. But our public want to go full throttle mad max on the first run. Dont go by most popular video bloggers for experience, they are kids who have had early access thats it. (except powedrift), most of them would jump on the bike throttle up and say whatever the **** that pops in their brain.

The 600i after the currently expected batch the next ones will be with ABS and they will cost approx 30-40K more. Ideally its good to wait.

Starling differences between the n650 and the 600, they are both dissimilar in many ways. For starters one is a comfortable tourer and the other is a naked. The low end torque on the 600i is comparitevy very low on the other hand this makes it easy on new riders to get a good feel for the motorcycle and comfortable in the city and bumper to bumper traffic. And for the engine to get rolling you will have to intentionally roll up.

BTW its a good thing that they don't give away the 899 and 1130 to all. They do give but to select customers who already own bigger bikes and know what they are doing.

The 899 and 1130 are wild and raw even by regular super bike standards. They have made it scuttle over the years but still they both have overall different characteristics and still varying level of madness attached compared to modern European bikes. They are very highly rewarding to the right rider yet completely unforgiving too. Doesn't matter how many km's u put in the bike still owns you. And frankly you don't get this feel from other mainstream bikes these days.

                  wisely put.

the service centre guy told me that they don't provide 899 \ 1130 for test rides to anyone.
and when i asked he said that till date only 2 bikes (899) have been sold.
the name of xbhp moderator came up !!
and other in dehradun i think.

everyone who is uprading to 600cc must be weighing out the benelli against kawasaki and both are very different at so many levels.
i think the most compelling must be the kawasaki brand image.

anyways i loved the golden 600i and its the last piece available here in delhi..... i dont want to rush but.... damn it looks so charming.
they said that the abs won't come before 2017 and the option to retro fit would be available to existing customers.

p.s :- For enthusiast riders who believe in improving their skill level i think its not wise to jump to 600 cc and skip the 250\300\390 class..... mostly because of the added weight and expenses in case of a crash... am i right ?

                  cheers.

I have a 899 and its a fantastic bike with a quirky (torckuey) character...

One can slowly upskill, the 600's sold in India are not mid ranged super sports (like r6, gsxr 750 or zx6r) but the tourer ones.. Its very much managable. In other countries they are people too- they start on with 250's and most directly graduate to liter classes. No reason why you can't do it either.

Take it slow, take a sensible approach to everything you do. And ride within your comfort limit.

BTW the update i got from showroom owner was after their current expected batch of 600's the next batch will have ABS.
The 899 and 1130 are undergoing re-development and will be launched in 2017 with electronics and a much softer / manageable engine

Ok that some new info because I even called up DSK in pune and they also said that ABS will come only in the later part of the year; plus as part of the 2016 model (FY 2016-17), they announced a price hike, so would imagine if the ABS variant was going to be coming shortly, they would have announced it too... Either ways, I just paid the down payment yesterday and the remainder of the amount (Loan) to be released by the bank tomorrow, so will check with the dealer again before finalizing the purchase....

Could be a generic answer that they tell everyone in order to get sales flowing... There is nothing / no harm in waiting for a month

Here are few things to consider-
                        1. The re-sale value of NoABS models
                        2. Existing vehicles may not be compatible with new ABS models- so far no manufacturer has offered ABS after market kits / conversion for existing models

If you really want to compare the 600i, its better you do it with the Er-6n rather than the Ninja 650, if you happen to get a test ride, make sure you don't miss it, as that would be the ideal comparison with the Benelli, and believe me, you will be blown away from the amount of torque it kicks in initially, since you have already ridden the Benelli now, and more fun to ride especially in the city and as you mentioned about you being skeptical with regards to the weight of Benelli, the Er-6n weighing a tad less here, its even more flickable compare to the Benelli, and I though felt on the fit finish standards, the Kwacker was a lot better against the Benelli, not that Benelli looked cheap, but the Kwacker had the upper hand here especially with the switchgear....I was someone who had been rooting for the Benelli since its introduction in India here last year, but believe me, I was blown away ever since I rode the Er-6n, now though I am falling more towards the Er6n than the Benelli now.....the Er6n is clearly the most understated bike here in India, mainly because of its faired brother, the Ninja 650...

                              hey

                              i agree.
although chances of getting an er6n ride are bleak.
very few people go for the naked kawasaki. (i myself prefer the faired 650

N650 trumps B600i in touring department + its also good for weekend rides.
so that is one reason i feel the parallel twin would be more vfm.
but then again the cost of ownership might be more with kawasaki..... i am not sure.

i am hoping that the ninja won't dissapoint me. will give a second look at er6n too and may be the gt also

                              hi

ktm is retro fitting the slipper clutch to the older models for 7000 rupees.

so i see no reason why its not possible to give abs to the present benelli customers when available.\

                              exactly my thoughts.
plus i have heard that the n650 behaves very much like the 300 only faster.(linear delivery)
so somewhere in my mind i calculated that i can have my share of fun on these forgiving mid ranged bikes and then later on availability get the mean 650's
(we do have the Daytona but i am nowhere ready for her skillfully OR financially)

Hi Guys, I have completed the second service. The Bill Amount was 8.5k. I added Teflon coating as well Now the bike feels smooth and the front noise which I had mentioned in my previous post is gone. I am happy about it.

But the service guys showed me worn-out back break pads. I was surprised to see 80% of the pads completely gone for just 3400kms. They told that I was using too much rear brake, which is wrong. I use front a lot and rear to support the breaking. I am not happy with the quality of rear breaks. They told me that it should be replaced and the cost would be 4.2k +400 Rs labour as it is not covered under warranty. Initially I agreed. Later I thought of digging in aliexpress and found that the rear brake pads cost just 1.8k. Hence ordered this. I will try to get it replaced in normal garage

Now I will be careful with ridiculous pricing of the spare parts. He also told that the Chain + 2 sprockets costs around 30k . The life of the chain and sproket is around 25k kms.
