re: Benelli TNT 600i - Owners' Reviews & Experiences
Hold on buddy, SVC informed that company is already in the works of getting the option to retrofit ABS on existing models but the cost would be higher, possibly around 60k-70k. This is because of the possible future govt. rule that ABS will be compulsory.Originally posted by jamesrocky View Post

Re: Benelli TNT 600i - Onwers' Reviews & Experiences
That's a pretty long wait! But if it pleases you, you could check out the Honda CBR650F. It is costlier than the Benelli 600 versions and the Kawasaki z800, but is still cheaper than the Daytona 675RR.Originally posted by Suraj200 View PostThen there is no option other than the triumph daytona 675
Got to wait for 1 year to get the finances right.. Man its hell to wait for that long..
If you're looking for just the above 600cc class then give the CBR650F a shot. If it's more of a mean machine in terms of specs then the Daytona is your best bet, as the Benelli 600i is no mean machine in terms of specs and neither would be a 600i faired version (which doesn't exist as of now). The CBR650F is an all round excellent bike except in the pricing dept.Last edited by mysticjohann; 06-11-2016, 12:05 AM.

I believe if and when the rule is implied, it would only be implied on the vehicles which are going to be manufactured after the rule implication and does not apply for existing vehicles.Originally posted by mysticjohann View PostHold on buddy, SVC informed that company is already in the works of getting the option to retrofit ABS on existing models but the cost would be higher, possibly around 60k-70k. Knowing the way our govts work, I highly doubt that will be the case, but regardless of that, this is the reason I was given when inquired about retrofitting ABS on existing models.Originally posted by kanth View PostI believe if and when the rule is implied, it would only be implied on the vehicles which are going to be manufactured after the rule implication and does not apply for existing vehicles.

I guess you are right as I came across an article regarding the same, so a deadline of April 2018 will be for all existing vehicles to be fitted with ABS, how fruitful it would be that I doubt on retrofitting the ABS unit in bikes, which don't even have as an option, for example the RE bikes!!Originally posted by mysticjohann View PostKnowing the way our govts work, I highly doubt that will be the case, but regardless of that, this is the reason I was given when inquired about retrofitting ABS on existing models.

Well when this rule does come out, RE will have no option than to start working on getting ABS on all their units. This goes for all companies if they want to remain in the market.Originally posted by kanth View PostI guess you are right as I came across an article regarding the same, so a deadline of April 2018 will be for all existing vehicles to be fitted with ABS, how fruitful it would be that I doubt on retrofitting the ABS unit in bikes, which don't even have as an option, for example the RE bikes!!
On another note, I should be able to get my beautiful machine by today evening if all goes well! Pics wont be an option as its pouring since morning. But the bike is ready and I cant wait to get it home!!

re: Benelli TNT 600i - Owners' Reviews & Experiences
govt rules are applied from the day the new orders come into existence. from the day the ABS will be compulsory the bikes manufactured from that day onward will be ABS not before that date.
But I really believe company should come up with a plan to fit older model with ABS version. Its not rocket science for them to do it

So, I got a reply from dsk benelli about retro fitting abs on old model and here it is
In regards to the below given query we would like you to note that unfortunately a retro fitment for ABS on the vehicle would not be possible.
In case there is any such possibility in the future we will surely keep you updated.
Assuring you of our best services and support.

I ahve also a feeling that now all CC bikes will fall into this rule.. I think lesser CC bikes like 100 to 150 would be exempted.. just a feeling ..

re: Benelli TNT 600i - Owners' Reviews & Experiences
I asked again and again I was informed that they are working on the system for retrofitting ABS on existing models. As of now it's not possible but will be in near future. I got my bike home today and the ABS switch placement is at the clip holder on the handlebar for the left rear view mirror. Seeing this, it seems they kept in mind the mechanism for retrofitting ABS as the current ABS seems its just added to the older units. Not a complete rework as I thought it would be.Originally posted by jamesrocky View PostSo, I got a reply from dsk benelli about retro fitting abs on old model and here it is

re: Benelli TNT 600i - Owners' Reviews & Experiences
Rule says 125cc or 16bhp. So all entry level bikes will be exempted and some 150s will never see 16bhp even when possible bcz price increase will deter their customers.Originally posted by dvsingh14 View PostI ahve also a feeling that now all CC bikes will fall into this rule..
