Btw I ripped the bike on the highways and touched 170kmph and overall on the hightway it gave 20 kmpl inspite of spirited ride. May be it suits more for the highway than in city.

Even I feel, the frame sliders are little lengthy. But at the same time it keeps other vehicles away from my bike :P
Interesting discussion I saw here so wanted to pitch in!! In bumper to bumper traffic, any superbike mileage will be low. My Red Rose i.e. Triumph Street Triple also gives 15-16 kmpl in the city especially in snail paced traffic - but on highways she improves to anything from 20 kmpl to 26 kmpl depending on how I ride. The problem is - as said elsewhere in your thread - once you see open road/ nice empty twisties - then you are not going to hold back - so mileage will again come back to 18 kmpl once you rip beyond 160 kmph. I have crossed 200 couple of times by now...You can read more info in my thread (title starting with RED ROSE).

BTW - for frame sliders etc stuff - do check options from SW-Motech - I find these are very good for Triumph. There may be models available for Benelli too.

So are you guys effectively saying that it is indeed possible to fit the ABS system onto Benelli 600i that you already bought without ABS? Is this a proper electronically controlled ABS or is it something else?

You know what? ABS was the only factor otherwise I would have gone for Benelli 600i as well - though I went on to buy Triumph Street Triple which is wonderful motorcycle and I am loving it. But it is way more expensive - rather over the top! Kawasaki Z800 felt good but it also felt a bit too heavy, Honda CBR650F simply failed to strike a chord for me. Benelli 600i I had liked but not so much the brakes - due to that factor I went to remaining good option of TST.

With ABS, Benelli 600i is indeed irresistible option - if you fit IXIL exhaust then possibly you have best sounding machine in India at the moment!

The frame sliders from dsk looks like an iron rod and I didn't like it. They provide the same sliders for both 300 and 600i. The cost is around 4k I believe. I paid the same amount and I got this which at least looks decent.
Haha, yeah I felt it was a little plain looking too. Of course at Aliexpress you can definitely get wayy better looking sliders. The showroom is saying they'll give sliders for free, I'll opt out and ask for something else.

That could be the price in your state? Maybe? Not sure, if that's the case then you guys are lucky. We always end up paying more.

I'm not sure about retrofitting ABS, I don't think it's advisable unless the company themselves claim full responsibility with proper warranty and what not. You need 100% assurance from them that nothing will be affected on the bike due to the retrofitting then maybe yeah.

Agree with you, I was actually ready to go for the non-ABS version but once the rumor turned out to be true I decided to wait and finally book the ABS. I can say that I was sailing in pretty much the same boat as you when I was deciding on which bike to upgrade to. :-)
Benelli for me was just the sweet spot and now its definitely gotten sweeter after the ABS being added. Of course you have the Kwacker & Triumph --->> Great bikes indeed.
But with Great bikes come Great Price

I din't wanna break my head after spending 9 or more lakhs & think about getting a sedan for that price. Honestly kwacker and Triumph are out of budget, another reason why I settled for the 600. Maybe some day in the future I'll be able to ride 1000cc but till then I got my Benelli.

Have a look at these Black Exhausts. IXILs.

Yup you are exactly right. These bikes are meant for highways where you can enjoy top speeds as well as decent mileage :P

Oh nice, the showroom is atleast giving free frame sliders. For me the showroom guys said I have to pay around 4k for those frame sliders last year. Hence I didn't take them.

If you are getting a freebie from the showroom, then I would suggest you better go for the paddock stand, as nothing comes more useful than that.

Guys, a word of caution - instead of Ali Express where you may indeed get amazingly cheap stuff, please do buy either through Indian dealers or order directly from USA/Germany etc because when it comes to any equipment of protective nature (where a failure can put life/limb at risk) then compromise should not be done.

Frame sliders from SW Motech, R & G, Woods etc are good. Extra pay for these things is better than getting similar looking stuff that will cause risk!

Guys got an update few days back from the dealer. ABS 600i delayed by 2 weeks due to some ARI approval. Deliveries expected around mid June.

Yes, indeed -- not like I depend on Aliexpress for everything but whatever they have is not of bad quality. I can say it's good enough but yeah of course better to pick up from dealers around here who know what their doing. I just checked out SW Motech FB page and it looks really promising. Looks like they have a good variety of things related to motorcycles.
Hearing about R&G and Woods for the 1st time, how are they? Good Dealers?

The non-ABS price on road Bangalore is 6.6 lakhs and keep another 40-50 K more for the ABS so maximum around 7.1 Lakhs more or less. I asked yesterday regarding the update on my bike and he said by 10th of next month I should have my bike ---- lets see hopefully DSK doesn't kill my expectations. So far so good with them -- nothing to complain about.

                    hi there

The testride bikes still won't have the abs right?
i asked the showroom guys but they didn't know.

the chinese companies reverse engineer and sell the kawasaki bikes after rebadging.... can't they simply put the abs available on those bikes onto the benellis ? rather than developing it from ground zero as claimed ? just a thought.

                    cheers.

In Goa OTR price is 6.7 lakhs. I was informed that the ABS would cost around another 50k. So that would add up to 7.2 OTR.

I don't think it is as simple as that. Benelli's ownership may be Chinese but their engineering team is more Italian. So all the specs will be designed by Italian team but implemented by Chinese to give you best of both worlds and cost effective solution - which is alright. It is similar thing like KTM Duke - Bajaj where actually Bajaj has very high stake in KTM (around 47% is owned by Bajaj - but engineering is entirely by KTM and made in India by Bajaj.)

So, it is better that they are taking their own time and properly developing the system rather than hurrying and retrofitting something which was not originally made for these specific bike models.

I think they are trying of there own to be cost effective . Because if they want brembo, nissin or any other could have made according to there needs..
