It is my suggestion and humble request to you and everyone here to get a small hose/pipe connected to that little drain outlet and let the fuel drop on ground. I accept the fact that spilling fuel on road is also dangerous, but atleassst it'll save you and your bike in hot conditions (never know worst cases).
I filled up to that disc on the inside. Its a good 2 inches below the fuel cap. Kept it on side stand and didn't have any fuel overflowing.

A question to all who own a benelli and use it frequently on everyday basis. Have you guys experienced any rusting of any parts of the bike during the monsoons/rains? I haven't but this is my first monsoons with the bike and I'm using it in the rains a lot. So wanted to know if any rusting of metal is going to occur. My friend had horrible experiences with rust on his Harley Davidson. Personally I never had any issues with my previous bikes.

Yep, I do use it for everyday commute to work. Since I reside in Chennai and air is humid than ever, The Brake disc are prone to rust than any other part on the bike. I haven't found rust anywhere else so far. May be, If I sneak-peek under the engine or show some light inside the frame, I may or may not find it.

Just an advice, make sure you dont let water stay, either blow it dry or let it evaporate by riding it for a while ,so that I may dissipate.

First of all, thanks to this thread- I did end up buying a 600i despite every person claiming to be a superbiker literally threatening to psyche me out of it (which includes some owners too). And 2 weeks after getting the red beast home- I am pleasantly surprised and mildly upset that DSK gave such terrible step treatment to its older sibling Hyosung. I did own the Aquilla Pro GV 650 for 3 years but the ownership experience was anything but satisfying- let's admit it, there isn't a better looking bike in the country- but then again, there isn't a more poorly finished monster either. And therefore I too had my very many reservations on putting a substantial bit of money with the same brand again

Be that as it may, as I said, first impressions are quite good- I'm even tempted to say fantastic but I don't want Murphy to come knocking anytime soon I do have some queries for the more seasoned bikers on this thread and would appreciate any advice/critique/inputs sincerely:

          1. I bought a used bike (9 months old) with about 10000 KM on the odo- so what would be a good time duration to get overall servicing and other consumables changed. I got a paid serving date of taking delivery though (no oil change as it was done 2k back). What would be the damages tentatively?
          2. The SVC guys insisted on changing the brake pads which seem pretty decent- infact quite good to me. I haven't ridden ABS-bikes on long rides over extended periods so cannot comment on what I'm missing out on. But for my kind of riding (I start praying after hitting 100 KMPH) I found the brakes to be top notch. So are the service center folks acting up then?
          3. Now that the non puritans have convinced me of the sin I've committed by getting the non ABS version, is there a way to salvage my soul? I read somewhere in this very thread that the ABS kit may not come as an option at all- so in that case can I get it done from elsewhere? I understand that Bosch does after market ABS installations- but is that for retail also? If yes, then can someone please advise how to get this done?
          4. Call me an enthusiast or someone experiencing mid life crisis but I've clocked almost a thousand KM in under a week (and my Aquilla saw 9k over 3 years); now I hear some creaking noise from the suspension. Also, there is slight rattling each time I go over a bump- not too much but it is irritating. Is this normal considering it was built to a price? The noise continues after servicing too (and I did point it out to the SVC chaps)

While I have several more queries, would appreciate help on the above pointers for now

                        - Now would be the best time to get the overall servicing. Infact it should have been done first thing after the purchase bcz then you get to know inside out of your bike. Plus you can maintain your schedule properly onwards this way.
                      2. The SVC guys insisted on changing the brake pads which seem pretty decent- infact quite good to me. I haven't ridden ABS-bikes on long rides over extended periods so cannot comment on what I'm missing out on. - not really, brakes on these premium bike do not behave the same way as usual bikes. The brake pads wont loose their bite noticably untill near their last breath. You may examine/compare the wear-tear and life of the pads comparing it with the new ones. Because it really depends how the previous owner exploited them. Brake pads on these bikes do wear out soon. 10k kms I think yoh should go for new ones. Showroom guys will suggest you right bcz they see many bikes regularly and they know the life of pads.

                      3. Now that the non puritans have convinced me of the sin I've committed by getting the non ABS version, is there a way to salvage my soul? - There are official comfirmations so far that retro-fitting the abs wont be an option for us. and I personally do not recommend getting the aftermarket abs bcz I just cant psychologically trust something related to brakes that has not been factory fit. The standard brakig on this bike is pretty strong, practice your braking techniques and hopefully you'll enjoy fearless riding even without abs.

                      4. Call me an enthusiast or someone experiencing mid life crisis but I've clocked almost a thousand KM in under a week (and my Aquilla saw 9k over 3 years); now I hear some creaking noise from the suspension. - Suspensions dont usually squeek easily, specially such robust built ones. Do check the oil seals time to time and keep your shocker rods clean to avoid seal leakages. btw, which suspension is making the noice ? front or rear ?
For rear at times the suspension needs kind of a servicing, the mechs will sort it out once they confirm if the noice is coming from it.

The rattling noise could be some loose bolt. I'd say try to narrow down where the noise is coming from ? and if it is a loose bolt type sound or fairing rattling may be. Do check the mid exhaust mid pipe connection bolt which is faced towards bottom under the bike.

Thanks a ton Sanket for the advice. To answer your questions:

                        1. I did get a full servicing done upon taking delivery. I deliberately delayed oil change as it had been done 2000 KM back and I had the service history
                        2. While the SVC guys said that all noise/vibrations had been taken care of in the servicing- I could hear a bit of creaking after riding for 100 km- as I said- nothing major but even the slightest noise on such a wonderful beast can be irritating- I am sure you would understand
                        3. Point taken on the brake pads- shall get it changed immediately
                        4. I agree with you. Braking is anyways quite good. However since everyone around kept saying that ABS is non negotiable on powerful bikes- thought of checking. Glad to know that the entire world doesn't believe that electronics double joy of riding

Additionally- I was thinking of some after market work like better suspensions, riding handle bar etc which are not available at the company workshop. Any leads on this?

The cost was just $24.964 including shipping which is $4.96. Shipping was not free for this and I waited for almost 42 days to get it.

For the same, the service center in Bangalore quoted 4400Rs including fitting . Even if the fitting charges are around 300Rs . I should still be able to save around 2400 RS.

BTW this is my third product from aliexpress, I have bought windshield - installed, got frame sliders last week - not yet installed, will be installing it tomorrow as I get some free tiem and upload the pics later.
Hi- I am also interested in picking up a host of things from Aliexpress. Infact the windshield and brake pads are significantly cheaper than what the workshop guys are asking for. However I have heard in another forum that importing these things is quite a nightmare as anything above 2K gets stalled at Customs and then getting things out is a real headache. So can someone please advise how to handle this?

it isnt that bad honestly. Anything above 5k has a probability of being questioned. you can easily order stuff upto that amount. The sellers on aliexpress mostly mark their parcel as gift and so get through easily. Also they put lesser prices on the tag if you can talk to them while placing the order, this helps in many cases but cant garuntee 100%

Not sure about suspensions so far. But handle bars and clip-ons options are available online. Workshop doesnt have anything for this bike, so you'll have to rely on our dear friend ali-express. Just keep an extra eye open for quality check before placing any orders.
