Due to budget constraints, I settled with the 600i, Its heavy, you can feel in stop-go traffic and while taking U-turns, it is flickable, but not so much like the ST due to it 50Kg of extra meat in it.

I did feel some heat in both the machines while taking TD, not like what you feel from a liter class, but manageable for sometime, but once you get stuck in traffic after 30 mins of running, when the temp soaring at 90C, you definitely would wish for a open road asap.

If budget is not a constaint, go for ST, if you love the Inline 4 note, you know what to do. So many things we can speak about. If you can spend 8+ and you need a Inline 4, go for Z800.
Thanks for the insight. Much appreciated

Inline 4, less mid and lower end punch for an inline 4, sweet sounding exhaust (with or without ixil), bulkier bike, pillion comfort is uncomfortable, 4months or 4k kms service interval = 600i

Inline 3, power starts right from 2k-2.5k RPM, globally one of the best selling bikes, detuned engine, light weight, good pillion comfort, 10k kms or 1 year service interval = Street Triple

Kind of makes the street triple worth the extra buck I guess except for the detuning molarkey

But then, the 899 is inline 3 too.

The ST has been detuned but doesn't comprise on its performance.

Please do keep in mind that the 899 is 9.5L ex-showroom.

I too had TD the ST and agree with opinions of others. The bike felt very light and nimble. It's short and very well balanced. At the same time extremely powerful. It has got high low-end torque making it very easy to drive in traffic. The suspension was also too good and so was the braking.
This was with the old model.

In 2016 model the bike has been changed inside out.

They have improved the low-end torque and braking with traction control.

                    It's a brilliant bike.

Hi guys sorry for the delay but was not keeping so well. Anyways.

Here is the DIY To lower the headlights.
You need to get 4 L shape clamps from a local hardware store. The size of these would depend on how much you want to lower your light. I would suggest no more than 3 inches. You need to weld 2 L clamps together to make a C. So then you have 2 C shape clamps exactly the same size. Unscrew the headlight bolts form under the speedometer and below the headlight. Let the headlight it will be dangling by the wires that's ok. Then remove the clamp below the headlight it's a plastic one. Then insert the C clamps below the speedometer and screw it in place. Then at the bottom of the C clamps screw the headlight to it. Then check how low your light is. It should not be lower then the front shock travel distance. If all is ok. Then. Take the plastic clamp to a local welder and get a metal one made based on the same design. But now it should be an inverted design to fit the lower headlight. Please note that this is a trial and error method. Do not blame me if you don't get it right. I am only posting it coz I got numerous requests asking me. Cheers.

Dude what r u talking of that- ST doesn't compromise on performance ?

ST is a de-tuned version producing same power as a ninja 650, the benelli 600i on the other hand in my opinion is not tuned all the very well as it lacks initial performance.

NO TC on ST yet buddy. And no changes to 2016 model. Guess u are referring to speed triple

Though it is detuned it doesn't lack the mid and lower end punch is what I meant by "doesn't comprise on performance"

i personally feel that the power of the 600 is adequate enough for city riding...tho its on the heavier side one doesnt feel that until the bike is a halt or taking U-turns...the service part is where the benelli takes a BIG hit!..the guys in the showroom told me that its fine to ride an extra 1-2k kms after the recommended KMS!!

People who haven't ridden an actual International ST will find this as wow. Those who have will say "WTF"

The triple has always been associated with its quirkiness and for long has been the pref stunt bike for years. The one sold in India doesn't even remotely match the machine sold overseas in terms of character...

Cannot argue to what you just said

ST is one of the best selling naked bikes in the middleweight segment. For Indian roads, the ST sold in India is VFM.
