Am ok with drier and dirtier chain afterall it can't be avoided and gues it depends on how frequently bike is used and in what conditions..but such amount of rusting is concerning me regarding the quality..

Yes they both are different!! Cleaner will be like white petrol!! You just spray and leave it for 10 mins after that spray the chain lube you have to Spray the lube in the middle of the chain's teeth ! Spray a little and rotate the tyre!! Do the same till it applies everywhere!! Use a little amount over lubrication will attract more sand and other dust particles!! That's it [emoji5]

There are some water marks near your chain guard !! If the same continues the chain will make more noise and its like irritating when you ride!! And about the quality issues I have done around 2.5k my chain is perfectly alright!! I've lubed my chain twice!! Just take care of your bike and it will make you smile everytime you ride it!!Ride hard Ride safe!!

I was about to book one for myself when I heard the news of the rear disc version of the bike. The dealership guy didn't have a clue about it, though.

What would you guys suggest? Should I wait for it or go for the normal drum brake variant?

I'm a new to the biking scene, mind you, having experience only on a Pulsar 180 where I learned riding.
Pros : Rear brake is an additional safety!! But the bike is perfectly safe now!! Only thing is that the bike's rear brake is not that promising !! The front disc is perfect but don't expect the same in the rear!! Cons : Risky part is on hard breaking the bike skids with disc!! So there is a positive and a negative!! It's up to you!! And the additional safety will be with a additional pay !! [emoji6]

Will check at the only shell petrol pump i know of thst exists in Hyderabad..
              Am a hyderabadi from chennai...:beer::beer::beer:

              On another note..
I need all of your help on the below topics..

FRAME SLIDERS - After a freak fall the right side of the fairing and the doom got slightly damaged..so got it replaced at svc and did not cost much wich was great..
Now the left side of the fairing got heavily damaged thanks to the bad road laying work...the bike merely fell to it's left when almost on standstill..
Now tryng to get left fairing replaced and spares are difficult to obtain..
So, it seems frame sliders are needed but the frame is slightly interior to the fairing and i don't know if there is a povision for it on the blue eyed boy..

When and where can i get them fitted..please help..

HEADLIGHT - ATHE stock headlight seems to be awfully inadequate..i understand u guys tried different options...so which one is best suited..?
              What about halogen lamps..?
And how would the aftermarket projectors (devil's eye and angel eyes) on this beast..? Do anyone of you kno someone does a good job of fitting them in Hyd..? I am made to believe it needs an expert hands..

You are so right abt the rear disk brake..
Frm my experience i feel the brakes on this machine..applying good combo of front and rear has been more than sufficient..so no issues there..
I use engine braking...i don't like over revving the engine and then rapid braking at signals..

If you visit Chennai na sollunga tr s a dealer in gp road hardeep bike spares you will get everything A-Z for bike's!! Even riding jacket[emoji6] I would suggest to go for projectors for eg: RE Thunderbird!! Which are reliable and long lasting, I personally use led but it's OK if you roam around city for highway the beam throw is poor!!

                    Continuing my banter..

TEFLON COATING - i asked alot of people and they say it really is not needed for the bike..Is it true ? Does it help in avoiding minor scratches ? Does it extend the life of the paint job? When and where can i get it done in Hyd..?
Seems the svc has no clue abt it..Other than that what is best suited for cleanup..is amway silicon glaze a good option ?

ENGINE OIL - Is a fully synthetic, semi-synthetic or mineral oil best suited for this baby..? Which one gives the best performance..? Cost doesn't matter to me..
I read that fully synthetic is not right as it is too smooth and rashes off the piston rings too soon...and mineral oil is purely for sport bikes (is what i know)
Now i know the SVC uses 10w 40 oil made by suzuki themselves for the SF and it is fully synthetic..i asked the svc guy and he did not suggest much..
I had my frnd's p220 for a while and he used a different engine oil (dont know which one) and used to get it serviced at KTM and maann...that was one devil..it rode like a bully..so i kno it makes a difference..
So, which engine oil is best suited ? Considering engine life and performance..?

I'd advise you against frame sliders and teflon coating. Its not really worth to get teflon coating and the only reason one should get one is if its free of cost and the dealer is not willing to give cash discount if you refuse to get teflon coating.

Regarding frame sliders, it is always easier and more economical to change the fairing as compared to getting the frame bent if the frame slider transfers all the stress to the frame.

CLIP-ONs - Now i know this is a sensitive topic..But i would "reaalllyyy" love to know how to get them done on the 'baby' busa and the pro's and con's of it..

SEAT CUSHIONING - i guess this is a dead end topic but my ass realy hurts.. when i go for long rides on this machine..say one hour nd above..and i'm forced to take breaks..can anything be done..? Also can pillon comfort be enhanced in anyway ?

I don't usualy talk on forums but..i joined this site and found time only now to ask all my queries..Thank you all and i hope..To get some answers..:what:

Motul full syn 10w40 works like a charm for me. And fully synthetic oils are harmless for the engine.

Hey guys. My account was locked for past 15 days and i made an appeal to xBHP in FB, they said my password will be reset shortly, which they never did. to my surprise i was able to login my account with my old password today.

I asked fellow users saying my story of punctured rear tyre. I am happy to say that i had tubed my tubeless tyre. and It is running extremely well including a 1000km trip. My tyres are fed with Nitrogen.

Yes guys, I went for a 1000km trip to Andhra. Chennai-Tirupati-Gandikota(Grand Canyon of India)-Belum Caves(2nd biggest natural caves in Indian subcontinent)-Chennai (via Nellore).
Trip covered a total trip of 1020 kms. On an average my bike is giving mileage of ~50kms. I dont ride too fast or too slow. Maintained average speed of 75km/hr(though roadworks prohibited me from going above 60 in Belum caves-Nellore Route. Trip took 3 days and 2 nights. Accompanied with a pillion rider.
Comment from pillion rider: Experience not so good. Seat is very hard comparing to other 2 wheelers.

Coming to trip, i never had any issues with bike. In fact i hit my front tyre rim very hardly at one place. All i remembered was Pulsar RS 200 incident, where the rim was shattered. But Gixxer was very safe. One and only problem i faced was my gixxer hitting in humps for 5 times throughout the road. I felt bad. Does anyone else had hit your bikes down part with speed braker???
PS:I never had a hit in Tamilnadu roads yet, except for once where i crossed a barrier in road with bike.

Secondly, I went for a road trip of 350+kms from Chennai-Pondicherry through ECR. Believe me guys, dont ever go over speed in this road. Your life is in danger. I do know ECR is a scenic route to ride. But the experience what i got was just ONE meter away from death. All i wish to thank was the Front and rear brakes in Gixxer SF. I was driving with an average speed of 75km/hr. and then i decided to break the speed barrrier and was going in 90km/hr. After 5 minutes, i saw an innova fool overtaking and coming towardsme. I was in proper lane and was near to the biker's lane in the ECR. Innova fool crossed bikers lane of my side. I applied sudden brakes and bike started wobbling, so without having any choice i stopped braking one meter before i was about to collapse with innove. Luckily innova fool took a full cut and went to his lane. If it was not that, i wouldn't have been typing this. While the innove fool came in my lane, i thought he is going to take a right turn and so he is coming towards my lane. But then i realized there s no right turn there. It was really great escape friends. So whoever planning ECR ride, be cautious. En route i saw a fresh accident where 2 indica cars collided completely.

While returning i took Tindivanam- Chengalpet GST Road back to chennai. I will be putting few pics in my next post.

                            Safe Riding friends...

Yes ECR is risky though it's scenic..its the second longest coastline in the world..after pebble beach,california..
Am glad to kno the bike pulled it off widout issues..
Someti.es i really wonder how those long journeys are made by you all cos" honestly i feel indian roads are in no way good enough or equivalent to the power the bikes and cars are brought out with these days..
