Thanks again bro for the reply. Hear is the quotation. The dealer has opened his business only 5 days ago. I don't know if he is official dealer or third party. How can I find that. The site still does not have any info about the dealer. But I don't know if that is because of him being a third party dealer or being new shop.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
You see the 13k charge there? That will vary according to your needs and from dealer to dealer. Ask them for details on what insurance company they are opting for and how much is the premium, how much is the temporary registration cost, how much is the RTO cost? These are the different aspects hidden in that 13kOriginally posted by rajeshbhuin View PostThanks again bro for the reply. Hear is the quotation. The dealer has opened his business only 5 days ago. Also if this is your second bike then the road tax will be 14% instead of 9%
But from the quote it looks like they are authorized dealer.
All the best.

Planning to buy the new Suzuki Gixxer SF
Hi All,
I am planning to buy the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 in coming 1 week or so.
So I need some help and reviews on the same . The below are some queries that I have in mind :
1. How does the bike perform after couple of kilometers of non stop riding (~100 km) ?
2. What about the cornering and the U-turns ?
3. Would it be wise to take the bike up for cruising ? (Say around 2500kms to and fro) Would there be any performance issues ?
Thanks in advance,
Dibyendu

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I saw it on last Wednesday bro, a STUDD make. May have been a display unit that I saw.Originally posted by sagar.sutar View PostOh sorry... Kiran Suzuki, Goregaon?...
i couldn't find any...?
On a separate note, Completed a week on the bike. Ever since yesterday, my idling rpm has gone below 1000-1250, I now have to accelerate after self-start and thus also increase in the clutch use. Also I can smell some unusual plastic-burning kind of an odour after hitting the roads for 1/2 hour. Should I be worried about the latter?

There is a rotating knob which should be exactly beside your right knee when sit on the bike... under the fairing...Originally posted by shailendra.k View PostDoes anyone know how to change the idle setting on the SF? mine has gone below 1000... its just a week old, what should i maintain it at?
Dont worry about that burning smell... even my bike used to smell once the engine was hot... but now it disappeared.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Thats a relief, I was worried if I already wrecked the bike, I reckon the burning smell should go after 1st service. I'll check the rpm knob out today at once.Originally posted by sagar.sutar View PostThere is a rotating knob which should be exactly beside your right knee when sit on the bike... under the fairing...

Don't worry about the burning smell. It happens during the run in, and will go off once the engine sets inOriginally posted by shailendra.k View PostI saw it on last Wednesday bro, a STUDD make. May have been a display unit that I saw.

As for the RPM, not sure why it went down like that.

Completed 2 months & 1.4k KMs last weekend. Have been a pleasant experience riding the bike till date
. Have started to utilize the throttle more as I am reaching my engine run-in period end!
As for the questions, below are my feedback -
1. How does the bike perform after couple of kilometers of non stop riding (~100 km) ?
Went on a 200km drive on Sunday & the bike held its own really well. Had been touching ~90kmph regularly during my last 100 kms as I was travelling in a 6-laner with frequent touches of 110 in between, even gave a P220 a run for the money!Sadly though, the Police guys caught me twice during this trip for overspeeding
So, in brief, yeah the bike is good enough for your 100km trips for sure!
2. What about the cornering and the U-turns ?
The bike feels so confident & balanced when you take the corners. Never have i felt that it is out of balance or risky with the size during corners. As for U-Turns, there is a slight problem in small spaces especially if you are having the Mirrors open. But you will get used to it, and I don't even think about it as an issue (Maybe because I had a stint with Karizma-R during my college days)
3. Would it be wise to take the bike up for cruising ? (Say around 2500kms to and fro) Would there be any performance issues ?
Not sure about this as I am yet to take any of these long trips. But From what i have seen, read & experienced, I don't think it should be an issue

Originally posted by Sriramlal View PostMy 1000 Kms with the Gixxer SF have been completed.
Guys, this 1000KMS of awesomeness includes daily travel to office and a 500kms long drive.
At the beginning i felt it was a blunder mistake to have bought this bike over the normal gixxer. But then, after riding for a couple of days i came to know that this bike can do just as good in traffic like the normal gixxer. This is a wonderful commuter and is just as nimble as the normal gixxer.
Traffic Conditions:
Since the front end is quite big, its you have to be precise to cut through the traffic. The turn radius is very high and taking U-Turns are very awkward and hard in the bike.
Mileage:
In the city, my bike gave me a very low mileage of about 42KMPL, But you should know that this is riding in high traffic at higher speeds. Consider my avg speed to be about 80KMph.
Highway:
Now here is the part that IMPRESSED me..
Guys, i left bangalore at about 9:30 pm, in mild rains. i drove at a constant speed of 90-110kmph i reached a max of about 121kmph. It was wonderful and didnt heat up as one would expect it to. i covered 200kms in about 2hrs and 20mins.
But this was just the beginning, one my way back, There was very heavy cross winds and very heavy rain. Almost through out the journey, me and my friend were shivering. But the front and back end of the bike was so stable that i was driving at a speed between 80-100kmph in moderate to heavy traffic in between busses, cars and tracks.
Trust me, My bikew was the only bike which was on the road and every other vehicle was either a four wheeler or something bigger.
The fairing in the front helped me greatly because, through the way back i could feel very less opposing winds. There were places where i had to hit hard braking and places where I applied soft brakes, but either way, i never slipped through and through.
And all the while I was with a pillion and according to her, the rear seat is just as comfortable as the FZ.
Uphill:
This is one place the bike felt tough. It had a bit of a hard time managing me and my friend on a steep hill. The bike felt like it needed to breathe a lot in 5th gear with a pillion.
Apart from that things were good.
Downhill:
Its grip is good. But a rear disc was meant to be.
Overall:
Its Fairing does an amazing job against wind blast and provides good wind sheilding. Mileage is good as pere my standards of driving because i dont drive under 50kmph at all.
roght now i covered nearly 1400kms and my first service is done. I have a good dent on the fairing as the bike fell down, so buyers, keep your bike safe. Apart from this, there is nothing much to tell. If you drive your bike on highways and for long rides, then go for SF, Its actually very good.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
As you guys suggested I went to show room today again. I already lodged a complaint to Suzuki previously and they called me regarding that matter. I told the dealer that i complained. To my surprise he said yes we know as we got a mail. But still they are going to reduce the price. They even said Suzuki india knows about this very well. Also they refused to split the quotation by different items. I am clueless what to do. Please guys suggest me what to do.Originally posted by rajeshbhuin View PostI will do ask them for the break up and inform in here. Thank you brothers for your suggestions. You are all really good people in here.
