Would like to ask you the same question as above
It did cost approximately 66k on road back then in 2009. Including cash back offer of rupees 3000.

      • Tyres replaced @ 61500

Made my shift to tubeless tyres last week with both front and rear tyres replaced to Michelin. Couldn't get sirac street tubeless for the front. Rear section is 110/90 and fits okay even with the chain cover on.

Performance : Tyres are grippier than the stock ones and the ride height has increased predictably. I haven't had the chance to push it to limits or check its wet grip, there is only one place in my entire route to office that even comes close to a corner.I think for me, going for a 110/90 section is a slight overkill.

Top speed should have reduced now, because i found it less eager to climb past 106.

The old Zappers still have some tread in them - one or two cracks occurred due to punctures.

Thanks a lot for the update, r0shack!

Congratulations on the upgrade, I believe it is a necessary one for GS, especially during the rainy season!

Did you by any chance compare the weight of the stock tyre (100mm section) to the new one? There should be a difference in weight between the tubeless one and the older T/T one + tube. Other than that I can only think of the new tyre having a softer contact surface, therefore reducing your top speed. Did you also go for a fatter front tyre? It looks pretty good.

          Cheers,

          Gilbert

Was this the first chain set that was replaced? 45K sounds like a lot to me...

Excellent! I heard they are now launching GS150r (1st or 2nd generation, I am not sure) in Pakistan. The video can be viewed here. That should mean parts will be available for yet some more years!

I hope they will repair the engine very well so my GS can kiss the road again for 81000 KM.
Friend how is your bike is performing after repairing engine?
Were you given a diagnostic yet? What can harm an engine that was made to last (earlier than 100,000 Km anyway!?)

They went ahead and launched the GR150. Looks like a cross between Hayate and GS, I like it anyway. 5-speed gearbox. Website says it makes 11.5 Nm @ 5500 rpm - isn't that a bit low for a 150 cc?

It will lock horns with Honda's CB150F - A glorified Unicorn 150 with gear position indicator ! The Honda looks a bit overdone or they like it that way in Pakistan.

Yeah, factored in the rains while choosing the wider tyres. I didnt make any weight measurements, but now my GS feels a bit heavier than earlier. Also only now i noticed that i have kept riding at 25/35 psi pressure for the front and rear so far, while the manufacturer recommended pressure is lower than 35, i think 28 or 30. The sidewalls of the michelin mentions a max of 33 psi, so in the future i'll be limiting the rear pressure to maybe 30 psi.

The front tyre is of the stock specification, only TT changed to TL. Yet to check mileage figures!

That GR looks a lot like the GSX150 they sold in Latin America a few years ago:

I test rode the bike before purchasing my black GS and it was unimpressive, yet it felt agile and the engine was peppier than GS150r's (with more vibes than expected though!) It was probably the lighter weight that made it nimble. GS150r felt in comparison like a luxury sedan when I tested it not long after.

But the base engine of this Pakistani GR looks almost certainly taken from GS150r, and I would not be surprised if it were so, since they are claiming the bike is Euro II compliant. It seems a bit underpowered, but it shouldn't that bad for a 135 or so Kg bike.

That Honda looks a bit more appealing to me, yet the GR looks more solid. Well, they are probably holding the launch of the actual GS150r until next year or later.

Oh and BTW, nice to hear from you, ashwanth!

Hi Gil, I hope you and junior are doing fine. I never knew you guys had the GSX150. Pakistani GR seems to be a new motorcycle tailor made for that country with the engine components shared - Both Honda and Suzuki have kept things conservative deliberately. GR looks solid. Even in GS versus Unicorn, the Suzuki is what looks solid. I don't think they will launch the GS150R there - won't it eat the sales of GR? Anyway, we will see what happens. Cheers, Ashwanth.

My GS is giving a strange noise while riding in 6th gear. This Happens only in sixth and service center has no idea how to address!..

Sound feels like a frog croaking continuously!

That's a lot of $$ for older technology and limited power, even though the bike looks high quality. And about the ad... I hope they sell a lot of GRs, they are REALLY trying! And by the way, "watching between the lines", if that makes sense, the video says a lot about the motorcycling needs over there. With all due respect, their market just does not seem ready for more premium bikes. Even in Latin America (mostly invaded by Chinese bikes), that motorcycle would be easily eaten by at least half a dozen quality products.

Thanks a lot for the video r0rshack!

With such exorbitant pricing, i think they are trying hard NOT to sell, and going by the Youtube comments, people there are least interested in buying.

I got my bike back it costs 10K to repair engine ( major cylinder, piston, valve and full chain set). Yes chain set was replaced two times till now, once around 45K KM, another this time at 81K KM.
I follow these rules for chain/clutch/acceleration cable:
Do not apply grease or burned engine oil in chain set this will only minimize the life of chain set. I have noticed whenever mechanic apply these things in my bike's chain, within few miles chains create problem some noise or something else.
I either use motul chain lubricant or simple machine oil(sewing machine oil).
Never drive with a loose chain set.
Lubricate chain set after 500-600Kms ( nearly every week)

Now it's running very smooth let's see.

                            Happy driving...stay safe.
                            Thanks

Any way just replace Cylinder , piston and rings , Crank bearings if necessary . Spare parts are available on line , you can procure on your own and locate a good mechnic and ask for spare's list . ASC will loot you .
