Re: Suzuki GS150R
Awesome! Photos please!Originally posted by sudhir kumar View PostHello Friends,
Sorry to say that I am very late entrant here. Though I was reading all the post in this thread regularly but never tried to write some thing here. I bought GS150r in December 2009 and till the date riding on it. Just touched 60K on odometer. Nothing to say more about the bike. For me it proved a reliable workhorse, though I drive slightly fast than economy speed , till the date never got less that 50Kmpl. No major maintenance till the date except on am accidental damage done by friend. Chain Sprockets were changed at 50K, Tyre are company fitted. Periodical maintenance mostly done by myself, No major issue faced except a very strange problem of unlikely wear and tear of Clutch Boss (cost Rs. 190) only. If interested I will provide more details about the bike.
Thanks

Kudo's on the feat, I'm quite surprised you churned 50k out of the stock chain and sprockets, I presume you went with gear oil over chain lube.
Even your brake pad life is something spectacular as I'm the type who would proactively change at 10k intervals. Though you do not find the need to change pads, make sure to change your brake flud at least once a year.
As for the "Clutch Boss" I'm not sure which part is being referred to here, please provide more details and a picture if possible.
Cheers,

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Any Inputs to this would be of great helpOriginally posted by satishpulsar View PostI had my GS150(25k on odo in 2015) Piston and Cylinder changed at the same Ranigunj service center after an engine seizure due to lack of engine oil, back in 2015 it costed me around 16K, but the bike was under the 3 years warranty( bought it in 2013), so paid only the labor charges and some other component charges which costed me around 4k.
I am not an aggressive driver and mostly maintain a speed of 40-60 Kmph. And only city riding.
Now in 2018 the odo is at 37k and being servicing it regularly at a local mechanic. And now the performance is low, Tapet sounds, low pickup. And the mechanic say the engine need to be re-bored. I don't have an intention to get the Cylinder/Piston replaced again, and the local mechanic quoted a price of 8k for a re-bore. Would this really cost 8k?
Any good local mechanic you guys can suggest in Hyderabad to get the re-bore?I love the bike and don't have an intention to sell it.

Hello Ashwin, It is Disk ,Clutch Pressure ( Part No. 21462-30H10), I quoted the wrong name. Many things in my bike given amazing life. Factory fitted battery lasted 8 years even I never use kick start. No failure in any electrical, even a single bulb is not replaced....ha..ha..ha... what a amazing build quality.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostHi Sudhir,

Engine needs to overhauled only when:Originally posted by satishpulsar View PostAny Inputs to this would be of great help
1. Engine is giving smoke i.e. eating lubricant.
2. Fuel efficiency is very low.
3. Very heavy Noise from Engine.
Please consult some other mechanic. Generally mechanics tell engine overhaul as a measure to save their time to investigate complicated issues and make fast money.

Just a personal suggestion, do change both friction and pressure plates in one go, as it helps saves labour and effort considering the whole scheme of things.Originally posted by sudhir kumar View PostHello Ashwin, It is Disk ,Clutch Pressure ( Part No. 21462-30H10), I quoted the wrong name. Re: Headlight Change...
Hello R0rshack, guys,Originally posted by r0rshack View Post
I havent done coil rewinding. Only the headlight wire which went to the stock RR is connected to the battery (via socket of indicator). This is the step that was performed in the GS150r full DC conversion PDF guide in the thread, given in the final 2 pages of the pdf. The draw on my battery is around 15W lesser than the stock and have been using this setup for the past 3 weeks, travelling close to 100 kms every weekday. battery is retaining its charge and battery voltage is consistent when checked.
I meant to enquire about this before, as I am planning to change to a LED headlamp bulb very soon (without going FULL DC); the PDF from the forum instructs to:
1. Take the +ve terminal from the battery and connect it to YELLOW wire in the connector of stock RR.
2. Connect this yellow wire to ORANGE from our bike (HORN).
3. Just join a wire with horn's ORANGE and connect it to YELLOW wire in this connector.
But the socket of indicator is mentioned in your procedure (above). So, indicator socket or horn?
Could you please give more precise instructions regarding COLORS and HOW TO CONNECT everything?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Gilbert

recently i have changed chain sprockets and battery. km run:60200. 2013 model

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Thanks for the inputs, I see all the three problems in by bike. Consulted another mechanic and he suggested a Cylinder and Piston replacement would cost 7k. He ordered the replacement parts and would completed the work once the parts are received.Originally posted by sudhir kumar View PostEngine needs to overhauled only when:
