My intention was definitely not to make anyone emotional Just kidding, my friend.

This is a beautiful machine. 300 is awesome for a person like me who has not experienced such power and roar.

        My theory is pretty simple:

After sales service in India is a known issue with every brand. There would be one or the other glitch with every brand.

For example: People know how unreliable and poor the quality and after sales service of Royal Enfield. Forget after sales, pre sales itself reeks with arrogance. And, if you ask me two lakhs is not a small amount. But people spend just for the love of brand. Benelli is comparatively far better product which may demand extra one lakh rupees.

The Chinese giants who own Benelli would have given considerable thoughts before tying up with DSK and would have definitely looked into their past (Hyosung). So, my bet is DSK can't afford to goof up this time around and that will keep them on the edge. I am sure even DSK would have looked into Benelli's past, presence and future before venturing into this.

So, I might sound over optimistic. But we have to live in present instead of getting bogged down about things which are beyond our control.

Finally, as I had mentioned before, in Bangalore there is a whatsapp group of all Benelli owners created by Benelli sales manager and have not heard of any worrisome issues. In fact couple of GT and 600-i owners have munched crazy amount of miles. A GT owner has already devoured 4000 kms in less than two months and is ready for second service. You can visit Benelli owners group Bangalore facebook page and contact some of these owners and get more insights about their experiences with 600-i and GT.

All the best. May all your dreams come true. Good luck

Today, for the first time, I took my beast beyond 9000 RPM, touched 11000 RPM. Man, This is rocket. Touched 125 kph at 11000 RPM in 4th Gear. And, the noise...phew...what a noise

That's a big hurdle for any naked machine. Benelli is no exception. Should hunt for a nice wind screen now.

re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience

EDIT: And.... err, this is more of a test ride experience than ownership, but it'll soon be. :P

I knew about Benelli as I was a fan of all things Italia (dream is to own a MV Agusta), when I heard about their venture in India, I immediately included TNT 300 (BN 302) as my bike to ride along with Duke 390. I have been riding Yamaha FZ-16 and Honda Unicorn for about 8 years now and err.... I'm a student currently 21.

So when I say "I want to buy", it's actually my father who's going to buy me the bike. You know how it is to be a college student.

And I must say @experimentalhead, you just made it concrete for me to "get" this bike. After reading a lot about the exhaust note of this bike, I went straight to Langford Road. Fortunately there's both KTM and Benelli along the same stretch of road. I test rode Duke 390 first, great bike, if I had no choice then this would be the bike for me. I didn't feel the bike to be cheap or vibey (maybe a little at mid-range of about 4.5-5k rpm), it is a great bike and what Bajaj-KTM are doing by offering Bosch ABS, Metzeler tyres and at 2.3 lakhs on-road is killer.

And, I rode Benelli TNT 300 and darn was I bitten by the exhaust note. Felt like a Gixxer 600 to me. I was initially skeptical about its weight, and the power being less compared to the Duke. All that vanished as I sat on the bike and took off. The bike felt great, felt sturdy and as I test rode on the same road as Duke and the same traffic I didn't feel the bike to be less powered than the Duke, sure the time to accelerate is like .5 seconds slower, you don't feel like it at all. The bike felt light and nimble in the traffic. I ripped the bike to 10k rpm and the exhaust note was amazeballs. Talked to the consultant named Manjunath and we became friends, he was knowledgeable and knew what he was talking about.

I immediately called my father and told him that this was the bike. Will book the bike as soon as my exams get over.

And @experimentalhead, again, if it weren't for your thread and your pics I wouldn't have considered this bike. I didn't know this bike's exhaust note is eargasmic. And the bike looked bigger and better than what I had thought by looking at the release pictures.

Oh and I'm new to xBhp (if being a lurker doesn't count).

Don't mean to spoil anyone's experience, but Benelli seems to have conquered more hearts here with their exhaust note than the bike itself. That 5s slow is like an eternity dude, the D390 would have vanished beyond your sight by then..

When you buy a bike, it should tick your boxes, not someone else's. At the end of the day it's your bike.

I know one rider who got continental GT and everyone discouraged him about bike stating it is not meant for long hauls, touring, does not look good with double seat, not worth of 2.25 lakhs blah blah blah But what matters is he is super happy with it and has done myriad of rides without any issues

For me, Benelli ticks all my boxes (except ABS), and which other bikes did not. Exhaust note is a super bonus.

Only if you are into professional racing a difference of 0.5 seconds or 5 seconds should matter. I am a tourer and all these small differences do not matter. So, it's individual choices and priorities. If someone's ego is hurt because some one vanished in matter of seconds, then there is no end to it.

Even if I buy the most fast bike in this world, I will not cross certain self imposed speed limit and tour on it. But, will enjoy the fact that such power is in my control and I am not abusing it.

Buy what your heart says be it KTM, RE, Benelli, Hero Splendor, vespa what ever it is, you decide and let others not influence you

He meant to say 0.5 seconds n not 5 seconds and some people are not looking for madcap acceleration every time they hop onto their bike.

Rider's riding skill matters more if you have to utilize all that power on tap of such bikes. Even though I ride a Z, I love to ride peacefully and I don't hesitate to agree that I will lose hands down to a guy riding a Duke 200. But heck, who cares I am not racing. I ride for my satisfaction.

I totally agree with Shreeni. Many times I am over taken by guys riding bikes such as Discover125 around country side. I continue to ride on and enjoy . The moment you involve your ego, you are in for .... They also give you a taunting stare at times, tempting you...you do not get tempted, that's where you beat them...Hahaha
